Hi guys. Another new thread here.
Baby #2 for us. Currently 17wk5. Baby due 24th Oct.
20 week scan on 9th June - planning to not finder out sex. We didn't with our 1st and loved the excitement of not knowing. We literally bought a pack of 6 white babygrows to take to the hospital and then when our DS was born we got loads of boys clothes from family & friends as gifts.
This worked well for us as I felt he did wear everything more than once.
My sis who found out she was having a little girl bought loads of clothes herself and then all the gifts from family too. She felt as though alot of it was wasted either only worn once if at all. Some stuff still had tags on when she took it to the charity shop xx

Hope you don't mind me jumping on! 17+5 due end of oct with my second boy💙

@Summer022 I think it's when the feeling of gas becomes more pronounced and at places you haven't felt it before / where there is no bowel 😃 I am sure I felt baby moving around the 18th week mark but it was just too similar to gas I didn't take it as a real movement (until after 20w scan). But I remember thinking the same, 'what if I just feel gas this whole pregnancy' 😂 It helped me reading about the baby's development and that their bones are getting stronger each week, so each week is more likely to feel it more. Excited for you to feel yours for the first time soon x

Alexandra07 · 27/05/2023 17:03

18w today and I feel like I am not pregnant 🙄
I ate a huge lunch without problems, no movements so far today, not that much bloated. I hope everything is ok and I can't wait to feel some regular kicks for reassurance!

EMcG3 · 27/05/2023 17:44

@AlongcameLainey - you mentioned a few days ago that you had a 3 year old and she think the baby is inside her. I have same age, same thing going on with my daughter. She is getting closer to understanding baby is in me, not her, but still draws herself with a baby in her sometimes. It is both odd and interesting, and she definitely knows my husband isn't pregnant, and she and I are not more physically connected than she and him.

LaVitesse2022 · 27/05/2023 18:31

Is anyone planning a 4d scan some time in this pregnancy? Or have had one previously and would you recommend? Debating whether it's worth it. My NHS ones did not result in brilliant pictures and never really got a good look at the baby, sonographer kept moving so quickly between different bits

Alexandra07 · 27/05/2023 18:53

@LaVitesse2022 never had a 4d scan and I will not have one. I find the 4d pictures/videos scary 😂and I'll probably worry that baby is disfigured!
But probably that's me being weird! Loads of people have them and I am sure it's a nice memory you can share with loved ones.

Chanteuse · 27/05/2023 19:40

@LaVitesse2022 I’m going to get one! It’s my first and DH doesn’t like them but I’ll go with my mum cause I want to get one. I think they recommend going a bit earlier with an anterior placenta

LaVitesse2022 · 27/05/2023 22:39

@Alexandra07 hahaha, fair enough! I'm still in 2 minds about it, not sure the £100 are worth it but partner suggested it.

@Chanteuse I heard if you leave it too late you won't get a good view of baby as it gets very cramped in there so if I do it I'm thinking probably between 28-30 weeks.

Chanteuse · 27/05/2023 22:54

@LaVitesse2022 yeah, they recommend 26-28 weeks for anterior placenta so I’ll be booking soon!

MeganC104 · 28/05/2023 16:55

@LaVitesse2022 yes, we did in our first pregnancy and it was amazing. We're using window to the womb. We got a video as well as pictures. My son kept yawning and it was so cute. We'll be booking one between 28-30 weeks

OrionNebula · 28/05/2023 20:32

Got my 20 week scan tomorrow. Can't wait to see my little girl again but nervous too 😬

Alexandra07 · 28/05/2023 22:04

@OrionNebula good luck tomorrow! Let us know how it goes!

Saturnsmoon · 29/05/2023 05:31

@OrionNebula good luck today!

AlongcameLainey · 29/05/2023 08:36

@OrionNebula good luck today!

OrionNebula · 29/05/2023 08:46

Thanks ladies Smile

Smiffette · 29/05/2023 09:14

@OrionNebula good luck! I'm sure it will all go well.

Has anyone felt like they've really popped this last week or so?
I normally in the morning g bump is fairly small and then by end of day it's bigger. Now I wake up and it's still big! 🙈

20 weeks tomorrow!! So excited that I'm nearly over half way and kind of on the home stretch!

doeandfawn · 29/05/2023 10:01

@OrionNebula good luck, enjoy time with the little one!

@Smiffette 18 weeks today and I’ve started to feel small movements that I’m about 90% sure aren’t wind. Bump feels like it popped last couple of days, husband commented on it being obvious yesterday for the first time. Hopefully not just the heat making everything swell!

What’s everyone’s go to for the hot weather? We’re looking at mid to high 20s for the rest of the week.

Needtobuildabridge · 29/05/2023 10:42

@doeandfawn Out and about -floaty dresses and some lovely maternity shorts I found!

In the back garden, not a lot! I love basking in the sunshine though 🌞

Chanteuse · 29/05/2023 10:50

I’ve just bought a couple of really floaty maxi dresses that I’ll also be able to wear when I’ve had the baby 💕 I can feel baby a lot now at 21+1, but still not “regular”

OrionNebula · 29/05/2023 12:45

Scan went well, everything looking perfect Smile. And just as well we already know the sex as she had a legs crossed 🤣 hopefully I will finally relax a bit now!

Alexandra07 · 29/05/2023 14:36

Great to hear that @OrionNebula just enjoy your pregnancy now!

SillyOldBear3 · 29/05/2023 16:54

@OrionNebula yay, lovely news!! 🙂

My 20 week scan is tomorrow morning and hopefully we can find out the sex! 🤞

peonygirl · 29/05/2023 17:04

@OrionNebula great news! It's always so nice to see them right?

AlongcameLainey · 29/05/2023 19:56

Congrats @OrionNebula great news.

I have my 20 week scan on Wednesday. Cannot wait to see baby girl again x

monsteramunch · 29/05/2023 20:14

Aah congratulations @OrionNebula Smile

Another one excited for a 20 week scan on Wednesday!

Is it weird that I simultaneously feel so, so excited to meet her when she arrives but also a bit sad (probably the wrong word) that the pregnancy is already half way over?! Feel like it's gone by so fast.

She is likely to be our only for a variety of reasons, so trying to really enjoy it as much as I can!
