Hi guys. Another new thread here.
Baby #2 for us. Currently 17wk5. Baby due 24th Oct.
20 week scan on 9th June - planning to not finder out sex. We didn't with our 1st and loved the excitement of not knowing. We literally bought a pack of 6 white babygrows to take to the hospital and then when our DS was born we got loads of boys clothes from family & friends as gifts.
This worked well for us as I felt he did wear everything more than once.
My sis who found out she was having a little girl bought loads of clothes herself and then all the gifts from family too. She felt as though alot of it was wasted either only worn once if at all. Some stuff still had tags on when she took it to the charity shop xx

Room to join?

Due 1st November baby no 2, but likely to deliver around the 18th October. Just had 20w scan today and all looks good, expecting a boy. Already have a 4 year old daughter.

doeandfawn · 14/06/2023 15:53

Hi @GemmaJen! Congrats on 20 week scan, have you picked out names yet? We’ve always got room for more, I’m due 30th Oct with my first so may end up being a Nov mum myself.

Summer022 · 14/06/2023 16:38

Hi all, hope you’re ok! I was supposed to go on holiday on Monday but our flight was cancelled. We’ve just made it out here today after a 4 hour flight. I could feel baby boy moving during the flight, but since getting off the flight at 11am til now, I haven’t felt him move. I’m nearly 21 weeks, but have felt him wriggling so much recently so this has really thrown me 😕

Chanteuse · 14/06/2023 17:34

I’m on hour 10/13 😮‍💨 I’m so hot and sweaty. Can’t wait to get home and shower! Hope everyone is doing great 💕

OrionNebula · 14/06/2023 18:00

@Summer022 have you been consistently feeling movements or have they been quite intermittent so far? I'm 23 weeks and I've got regular movement now but she still goes very quiet when I'm on the move. I was flying today too for work and didn't feel much from when I got off the plane to about halfway through my meeting. She's kicking away again now I'm relaxing in the hotel. So could be just you've been on the move a lot today and it's lulled baby to sleep?

J0P · 14/06/2023 18:32

Hiya I’m new to the site, a first time mum expecting on 06/12/23 (a Xmas baba). Anyone else a first time mum expecting around this time too?
Also anyone else sometimes forget you’re pregnant when a very slim build and hardly showing at 15 weeks with only fatigue as a symptom; literally nil other symptoms?
😁

doeandfawn · 14/06/2023 19:11

Hiya @J0P! This is the thread for people expecting in October, there’s actually a December thread if you’re looking for people close to your due date!

LaVitesse2022 · 14/06/2023 19:53

@ttcttc another anterior placenta here with strong movements. They're definitely frequent now, a few times a day, though not yet regular (or I just haven't picked up a pattern). Partner could even feel a couple of kicks yesterday evening for the first time! 😍

Ss32 · 14/06/2023 20:05

@doeandfawn awww my due date with my first little girl was 30th October 😍

LWestYorks · 14/06/2023 20:19

Hi ladies! Anyone had a growth scan around 23 weeks and can share there measurements? X

BeaKind · 14/06/2023 20:21

Had my first consultant call today due to previous c section. She told me my last baby was back to back which is likely what led to the emergency section.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard this! I’m a bit shook as I can’t believe nobody told me when I was actually giving birth 🤯 The whole birth makes sense now. Why I found it so painful, why I got to 9cm but couldn’t deliver, why they didn’t use anything to help get him out. Anyways still undecided on what route to go this time. Just know that I don’t want an induction this time!

Any other previous c section ladies decided what they’ll do yet?

monsteramunch · 14/06/2023 20:46

That must have been really traumatic @BeaKind especially if they weren't keeping you informed as to all the whys!

I'll be having a elective c section but this is our first little one so I have no helpful advice I'm afraid, in fact I'll be the one asking for it at some point I'm sure!

Mine is largely due to an underlying condition (mine, not baby's) which needs to be kept under control to prevent seizures (again, mine) so a planned section is much easier for them to manage my condition throughout vs the unpredictability of labour and vaginal birth.

I can't believe how quickly it's all going - I'm 22 weeks already and it's whizzing by!

Smiffette · 14/06/2023 20:50

I'm 22+1 with an anterior placenta, still not feeling movements.... really can't wait until I do as that make of feel really real!

MeganC104 · 14/06/2023 21:46

@BeaKind I'm aiming for a vbac and so far everything is looking good. My first was an emergency c section at 9cm due to baby heart decels. He was also back to back and not moving down so they recommended section over forceps.

Alexandra07 · 14/06/2023 22:54

@Summer022 I wouldn't worry, 21 weeks is still early and if you are on the move they are usually sleeping and don't feel the movements as much. Enjoy your holidays!

Welcome to everyone new!

GemmaJen · 15/06/2023 06:10

@BeaKind I had an emergency section last time round, got to 10cm but no progress, my daughter was quite happy hanging out in there. For her it was because she tipped her head up rather than down apparently, so presenting with her forehead. I've a blood condition I get when pregnant which meant they couldn't intervene with forceps, episiotomy etc... So whisked of to theatre. I'm going for an elective section this time, partially because my options if I need some help are so limited and partially because I found the last few weeks of pregnancy very hard on my mental health and need the certainty of a date and a plan. I'm hoping they give me my date soon, was due to meet with the consultant on Friday, but just been cancelled for the second time due to strikes. So not for another 4 weeks now 😑

I've spotted there's a Facebook group, but struggling to get in as it asks to answer questions /agree rules, but there's no options to do that? Anyone know how it works?

BabyG2loading · 15/06/2023 07:14

@BeaKind I had a previous elective section last year and plan to have another with this baby. My consultant advised that a second section would be my best/safest route to birth considering the short time between the two and given my age (42), although he didn’t seem concerned in the slightest - thankfully as I was panicking a little.
I had a lovely birth experience with my first - it really was something I look back on and can honestly say it was the best moment of my life, so relaxed and lovely meeting my daughter, I’m hoping that this time is exactly the same meeting my second daughter 💕💕

peonygirl · 15/06/2023 08:56

@Summer022 at my last scan they were all surprised when I said I can feel him every day. No one asked if I feel him regularly, I think it's still early especially if you are a first time mum. I am 20+4 now and feel him more in the mornings and evenings.

monsteramunch · 15/06/2023 09:17

I'm 22+3 and have a real wriggler! Throughout the day every day especially over the last week. Like you @peonygirl she is most active first and last thing, but moving all day at various points. It's amazing how different they all are already!

peonygirl · 15/06/2023 09:33

@monsteramunch yes, they are all different! I wonder if I will feel him more when I get to 22w, I am currently 20+4. On scans he's always super wriggly but most of the time I feel nothing :) I am kinda happy about this, he already kicked me hard twice so I have no idea how hard the kicks will get when he's bigger. I am planning his successful footballer career and big bucks he'll earn 😂

Sagittarius25 · 15/06/2023 12:34

Can I join ladies? 😊

Currently 20+6 with a baby boy due 27th October. Had our 20 week scan today which was all good 💙

OrionNebula · 15/06/2023 12:34

@peonygirl @monsteramunch mine is the same, a real wriggler now, but was very intermittent for a while.

23+ 4, can't wait to get to 24 weeks Smile

monsteramunch · 15/06/2023 12:35

Welcome and congrats @Sagittarius25 Flowers

This may be famous last words!

I have an anterior placenta too, 20+5, and he's been booting me aggressively for over two weeks now. Struggled to get to sleep last night because he woke up and got going.

Little bugger turned his back during the scan and went to sleep, so we have to go back though.
