Congratulations on your little boys @cruciverbalista and @firstlittlefrazzleontheway!

I'm so pleased your scans went well Flowers

cruciverbalista · 19/05/2023 18:40

Thanks everyone xx. @peonygirl - my due date is actually Oct 8th, just didn't want to spring for a gender scan!

peonygirl · 19/05/2023 18:43

@cruciverbalista ah damn, there's goes my fabulous theory :)

LaVitesse2022 · 19/05/2023 19:59

@cruciverbalista and @firstlittlefrazzleontheway congratulations on your little boys! 😍💙💙 Glad the scans went well! I have mine next Friday, can't wait! Also feel like it's the final hurdle in terms of checking if all's progressing well

Summer022 · 19/05/2023 20:20

Hi ladies, I have been checked by the midwife and had a urine sample sent off to the lab which came back clear, but still this constant unbearable urge to wee all the time! I will pee and then immediately need to go again. Could this be baby applying pressure to my bladder? 😆 it’s sooo uncomfortable but all infection has been ruled out!

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 19/05/2023 20:22

@peonygirl my due date is 11th so I'm around the middle☺️

pangolin84 · 19/05/2023 22:13

@Midnight00 Where I am they don’t issue the mat1b until the 25 week midwife appointment (or 28 week one if you’ve had a baby before!). It’s so awkward because work want to have it by 25 weeks. It’s not a great system.
Last time I submitted my maternity leave request form and just said the mat1b would follow when available.

doeandfawn · 19/05/2023 23:01

Congrats on healthy boys!

katherine123x · 20/05/2023 05:14

@cruciverbalista @firstlittlefrazzleontheway welcome to the boy club! 💗

Chanteuse · 20/05/2023 09:36

@cruciverbalista DD twins & both having baby boys 💕🥰 my 20 week scan is Tuesday

Needtobuildabridge · 20/05/2023 09:50

Don't think I've posted, but we're having a little boy! 💙 Due on the 5th.

Sorry about your theory @peonygirl !

Midnight00 · 20/05/2023 11:46

@pangolin84 Thanks, that's useful. I'm sure it'll work itself out in time. Work are only hassling me as I'm a teacher and they want to sort September out.
Aww to all the baby boys - me too! 💙

cruciverbalista · 20/05/2023 12:00

@Chanteuse maybe they will meet one day 😭💙💚💜

NSx · 20/05/2023 13:33

Am I the only one on here who isn’t finding out the gender? 🩷🩵 …

Saturnsmoon · 20/05/2023 14:55

@NSx no me too! Although we actually have the information in a report at home - our nipt included the results but we don’t want to know yet so haven’t read it.

My 20 week scan is on Monday and hoping we don’t accidentally find out. We live abroad and it’s very uncommon here to not want to know so apparently we need make that very clear before they start. Have heard of quite a few people who told the sonographer they didn’t want to know and we’re then made aware of their baby’s ovaries 😂

MeganC104 · 20/05/2023 15:26

I have a midwife appointment on Monday. I'm 17 weeks now. Did anyone have a Doppler at their midwife appointment? I think mine mentioned she'll try and use it

Ss32 · 20/05/2023 15:58

@MeganC104 i didn’t have a Doppler at 16 weeks. I don’t think I did until much later in my last pregnancy either (but it was a covid pregnancy)

peonygirl · 20/05/2023 16:57

@MeganC104 I had an appointment this past Thursday and she used a doppler. I didn't ask for it but it was nice to hear the heartbeat. I was made aware it might not work as the baby is still so small and they might not find the right position.

NSx · 20/05/2023 17:21

@Saturnsmoon oh that must be so tempting 😂😂 … our NIPT was NHS so you don’t get any paperwork and you don’t get the gender 😂😅…
I am very paranoid about my 20w scan too, I’ve had a few friends who said they didn’t want to find out gender but their little bits boys were plain to see on the scan 😂😅😅😂😅….

@MeganC104 yes, I had my 16w appt with my midwife and she got the Doppler out and let me hear the heartbeat - she also let me record a voice note on my phone to send to my OH 💕😊 it was so lovely - I recommend you do the same if you get the chance as it’s a lovely keepsake 🩷🩵

cruciverbalista · 20/05/2023 18:40

@MeganC104 I got the doppler too, it was really cool. I have to admit this whole thing is feeling a LOT more real now I know the sex. For those of you wanting a surprise, curious if there's a specific reason for it? I've heard some people see it as a driving curiosity to help them through labor.

blahblahblah1654 · 20/05/2023 18:41

@MeganC104 my midwife used a Doppler at 16 weeks. It depends on the trust I think. Took her almost 10 mins to find heartbeat though which was a bit scary!

NSx · 20/05/2023 18:53

@cruciverbalista I just think in this life everything is planned out, organised, you know what comes next, but not knowing if your baby is a girl or a boy is one of life’s only surprises 😊🩷🩵 and I’ve heard it’s absolutely wonderful when you find out, a lot of my friends and people I’ve spoken to said they wish they would have not found out and waited. I’ve also heard that it can help in labour too as the excitement and anticipation helps with the pain and gets you through it. That’s my personal reasons I know other people will have different reasons/views.

BeaKind · 20/05/2023 20:46

Hi everyone 👋 I’ve just come back from holiday so catching up on what’s been going on.

Come back to our screening results and for Downs it’s 1:310 and Edwards is 1:5000. I can’t find where you were all talking about your results before but hoping this is ok? I’m sure the numbers with my first (only 3 years ago) were waaaaay lower odds.

@NSx We’re on team not finding out this time round. @cruciverbalista Last time we were desperate and found out bang on 16 weeks. I’d genuinely be so happy with either so just want to see the surprise at the actual birth this time I guess so we’ve experienced both ways ☺️

Also still don’t feel very pregnant! Just chubby and no movement yet.

Hope you’re all doing well 🤗

LaylaHL2023 · 20/05/2023 20:58

Had our private gender scan today. Happy to say healthy baby boy. He was not helping by laying upside down again. measuring 17+2 oct 26th.
Im stumped for names as thought I was having another girl 🤔😆
Also have a womb Fibroid of 3cm. Sono man was not worried, said just to notify them on my NHS scan in 2 weeks time.
Also booked with midwife for home birth.

@cruciverbalista I'm keeping it a surprise because I think it's a nice little reward after birth. Something else to look forward too
