18+2 here and haven't felt a tap. Not worried; doc said 20w onwards. My friend was 22-23w before she felt anything so I'm not going to panic yet!

LWestYorks · 16/05/2023 20:36

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway my scan is on Thursday afternoon and it really can’t come quick enough - I just feel so anxious right now! But yes I know what you mean about the spider 🤣

Summer022 · 16/05/2023 20:51

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway yes me too! Couldn’t believe it when she said two weeks to wait til the results of baby’s blood type!

cruciverbalista · 16/05/2023 20:54

My scan is Friday too, can't wait!! I'm 19+2 and been feeling a bit like a human trampoline for the past few days. As in these small focused cramping feelings which I am pretty certain are tiny limbs kicking various parts of my uterus. Will be really cool to see on the scan if timed right.

LaVitesse2022 · 16/05/2023 21:30

@LWestYorks don't panic honestly, they say between 16-24 weeks is normal to start feeling so plenty of time yet.

I'm 18+4 and have felt some bubbling for a week or so and then yesterday a few tiny punches which was the most bizarre feeling. But nothing for rest of the day or today. They're still very small so plenty of room in there to not touch the walls :)

Ss32 · 16/05/2023 21:46

I’m 21 weeks today and over the past week have felt a lot of movement, some painful boots to the cervix (one which her Dad felt!) but prior to that, I wasn’t feel much at all, my placenta is anterior

SillyOldBear3 · 16/05/2023 23:18

Anyone else rubbish at remembering to do their pelvic floors? 🙈

Alexandra07 · 16/05/2023 23:56

@LWestYorks what are the side effects of your iron tablets? Could it be that for you they have the opposite effect? I think that when I started taking iron tablets last pregnancy I had constipation soon after. Worth calling the GP just in case.

Midnight00 · 17/05/2023 06:47

@SillyOldBear3 I'm managing once a day on my commute - got the NHS squeezy app and it reminds me. Must do a few more sessions though!

MeganC104 · 17/05/2023 09:27

@SillyOldBear3 I use the Squeeze app and it's been notifying me 3 times a day. I sometimes skip the odd one if I'm busy.

As for movements, pretty sure I've started feeling "taps" but I didn't feel proper movements with my first til 20+ weeks

Saturnsmoon · 17/05/2023 09:52

@Midnight00 @MeganC104 how do you set up the reminders on the app? I have the NHS Squeezy app but it doesn’t send me reminders and I really need the prompt 😉I tried in my iPhone settings but looks like notifications for the app are turned on so guessing it’s an in app function I haven’t found yet.

Phoenixwings1989 · 17/05/2023 09:56

I'm having a private gender scan tonight at 5pm. I'm 18+4 and couldn't wait two weeks. I wasn't going to hence the length of time but I've not been feeling movement and I'm just stressing about it, so figured instead of going for a reassurance scan I'd go for a gender scan instead.

Is anyone else having strange dreams / nightmares?

I'm having so much trouble falling asleep in the evening (though ironically struggling to stay awake the rest of the day) because just as I'm drifting off I'll see something that isn't there.

I'm half awake, half asleep so I know it isn't real but it's still unsettling and sometimes disturbing.

I had a look online and this is definitely what's happening:

"It’s not just during deep sleep that you might have vivid dreams and greater dream recall. You may also have what is known as hypnagogic hallucinations during non-REM sleep. These are brief, dream-like experiences that can occur as you are falling asleep or waking up."

So I know it's that and not something to be hugely worried about but it's horrible so I wondered if anyone else is having them / has any tips?

Definitely won't be sleeping alone while these are continuing, having my partner there sort of grounds me as he reassures me at the time that it's just a dream etc.

OrionNebula · 17/05/2023 10:04

@Saturnsmoon if you go into the exercise plan on the squeezy app there is an option to turn reminders on.

As for movement, I swear this baby is deliberately messing with me 😂 I'm 19 + 3 and they are definitely getting stronger and more regular but still getting the odd long stretch without any and it sends me into a right panic. I went to london with DD for the weekend and didn't feel anything for ages on the journey back, I got myself in a right state. Then as soon as I sat in my plane seat she started kicking away.

NSx · 17/05/2023 10:08

@monsteramunch I have no problem sleeping but I’m defo having weird dreams. Lewis capaldi was in my dream last night 😂😂😂🤣🤣

Haha dare I ask what happened?! 😂

NSx · 17/05/2023 10:19

@monsteramunch can’t remember most of it but I think he was my boyfriend 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 wild.

MeganC104 · 17/05/2023 11:25

@Saturnsmoon in the app it's "Exercise plan" and then change to reminders and hopefully you can do it there. I have android and I can set up push notifications.

doeandfawn · 17/05/2023 11:59

NHS Squeezy app?! This is the first I’m hearing of it, very glad to be on here haha.

LaVitesse2022 · 17/05/2023 12:41

I've been rubbish at remembering to do them, the only time I do them consistently is on my pregnancy pilates weekly class. Had never heard of the squeezy app, thanks for the rec!

SillyOldBear3 · 17/05/2023 14:10

@Midnight00 @MeganC104 this is a great idea.. not sure why I hadn't thought of downloading an app! Will give it a go, thanks!
I occasionally remember when I'm sitting down watching TV in the evening but I really need more of a routine!

Saturnsmoon · 17/05/2023 15:26

Thanks @OrionNebula @MeganC104 !

@Mldn those are low risk for sure, you’ve got nothing to worry about! Things like BMI, age, other health risks can make the risk seem higher than other low risk levels. If you’re in the thousands you’ve got nothing to be worrying about :)

doeandfawn · 17/05/2023 15:40

Absolutely gutted today. Found out from midwife at 16 week appt today that the hospital I’m going to won’t tell me the sex at the anomaly scan. She also didn’t check baby at all, just me. I was under the impression baby would be checked in on at this stage?
