I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

A few years ago before a big hen party a friend told me she was pregnant and asked if I could help keep it a secret. I drank most of her drinks and if someone bought her one or got shots etc then I would have it. We also did rounds together so it was usually only me ordering her drinks. A diet coke passes as vodka/coke. Nobody noticed a thing. As other people get drunk no-one is paying attention. Maybe you could tell one person before the hen to help you out?
A wine tasting day would be very difficult to hide.

Bims2019 · 30/04/2023 15:13

@sashastuck I only really notice that mine are tender if I poke them šŸ˜‚ but yes, think it's more obvious first thing in the morning and before bed at the moment!

The drinking thing is difficult, having a buddy who can help provide cover is a really good idea šŸ™‚ I have a hen do in a few months, so all being well people will know by then. It's a bottomless brunch though, so will be interesting being there sober šŸ˜‚

sashastuck · 30/04/2023 16:14

Love this idea @Wanderlust86 ! I’ve got 2 weddings coming up, 1 is a family one. No idea how I’m going to get through that suspicion-free, I’ll be about 10-11 weeks!

@Bims2019 same hahaha šŸ˜‚can’t stop pressing and poking them! It is normal for symptoms to come and go isn’t it?

Bims2019 · 30/04/2023 16:36

@sashastuck glad I'm not the only one šŸ˜‚ as far as I know it's perfectly normal, especially at this stage ā˜ŗļø

CMG92 · 30/04/2023 19:42

Hi everyone I’m 4+5 and had quite strong period cramps earlier this morning which passed, went to the loo tonight and had a slight brown tinge of discharge when I wiped, has anyone else had this? Boobs still sensitive especially in a morning and at night but no other symptoms yet now the insomnia seems to have improved. I had a miscarriage in jan that started with red blood not brown discharge so not sure if it’s normal or if it’s going wrong again 🄲 any comments appreciated 😃

Mushroo · 30/04/2023 19:52

@CMG92 i had spotting from 10dpo (and was convinced it was AF) until about 4 weeks 3 days and then stopped completely.

I’m 5w+1 and all seems fine. From googling as long as it’s not bright red or loads of it it’s normal.

CMG92 · 30/04/2023 19:54

@Mushroo thankyou I’m trying to stay positive x

Mushroo · 30/04/2023 19:57

@CMG92 its so hard isn’t it. Every time I wiped I was getting anxiety. Fingers crossed for you it stops soon x

CMG92 · 30/04/2023 20:06

@Mushroo its only been the once and no cramping or anything with it so hoping it’s just a one off! Yes the miscarriage was my 1st pregnancy so I think it’s going to be a long few weeks until my 1st scan then I can relax knowing all is ok šŸ™ x

FingersCrossedXXX · 30/04/2023 20:56

I think I will end up telling my friends as they are close pals and I think I'll find it stressful trying to hide it all day, especially if they mention rounds or shots. Plus I don't want to waste money buying alcoholic drinks to either leave, chuck away or have someone else drink. To be fair I would tell them if something bad was too happen anyway but you never want to feel like you are jinxing it!

@cmg92 I feel your pain. I had an ectopic pregnancy recently and I'm now worried every time I go the loo incase there is any blood. I have also had some very minor brown tinged discharge which makes me feel uncertain about things, even though with the ectopic it started with red blood but it is hard not to worry. Are you planning on having an early scan at all for reassurance?

CMG92 · 30/04/2023 21:11

@FingersCrossedXXX im not sure yet, I haven’t even got in contact with the midwife yet as last time I had to cancel my booking appt a week before which was just awful to do. I read some people saying it was reassuring going for the early scan then others saying wish they hadn’t bothered as it was not a yes or no if all was ok. Early pregnancy is so rubbish for anxiety! Sorry to hear about your eptopic, how far along are you this time? Good luck with everything x

FingersCrossedXXX · 01/05/2023 07:58

@cmg92 Yes, I do think sometimes it can cause more anxiety but may be worth going when around 8 weeks so you should definitely see something. I have one at 6+1 which the EPU arranged for me and I am worried that it'll be too early to see anything and make me more anxious but at the same time I'm happy they are willing to give me one. I had to cancel my midwife appointment too last time. Rubbish isn't it. I'd also bought a t-shirt which arrived the day before it happened which said 'Promoted to Big Brother in 2023' for my son. Unless my dating scans puts me 1 day earlier, that's no use any more!

I'm 5 weeks today. How far are you?

sashastuck · 01/05/2023 09:32

So sorry to hear about your past experiences @CMG92 @FingersCrossedXXX . So sad. I hope this pregnancy is filled with so much joy for you!! Xxx

Does anyone else get little stomach cramps that aren’t quite period pains, more like a nervous stomach? I woke up last night at 4am with it and I’ve got it a little bit now, can’t work out if I’m just anxious from constantly thinking about this baby!! Definitely doesn't feel like period cramps but not painful, just a bit gurgly?

LetsGo36 · 01/05/2023 10:09

Hi everyone. We got our very faint line yesterday at 11 dpo. Can’t quite believe it. It will be my third child but my first with my partner. I had my other two very young and now I’m 36. Fingers crossed the line gets darker in the next few days. Congratulations all xx

Hello! I’m about 10dpo and got my clear blue digital positive this morning. I already have a DD who is 20mo. Due date is 12/01 but with my daughter it jumped around a bit so we’ll see!

SunSparkle · 01/05/2023 11:35

Hiya!

got my positive today with an estimated due date of 28th December but I went two weeks overdue with my daughter (now 2) so I’m hedging my bets it will be a January baby.

I’m 35 with one daughter and terrified about having a baby on Christmas! But also very excited and hoping this pregnancy will feel less scary than my peak covid one and happy my partner will be able to be around more this time

sashastuck · 01/05/2023 11:53

Congratulations everyone!! šŸ˜

@SunSparkle 28th Dec is my birthday, I came 3 days late, was due on Christmas day! I LOVE having a Christmas birthday, I know others say they wouldn’t want it but as a child I found it magical. I can understand the worries of a newborn/being heavily pregnant around that time of year though. Congratulations x

TrudyProud · 01/05/2023 15:51

Hi ladies, May I join? Just got my BFP this morning! Not sure how many DPO I am as wasn't tracking ovulation but based on my AF dates I'd say between 10-14DPO.

This will be my 2nd DC (we have a DD who's just turned 1). Honestly so happy but also already crapping myself but as I'm 37 later this year don't have time on my side.

For those worried about outing themselves @FingersCrossedXXX
I thoroughly recommend the non alcoholic spirits (Gin/Tequila are the best) plus beers. I'm a big drinker and managed to keep DD under wraps till 17/18 weeks . I'd call ahead to the bar/restaurant/pub and ask what non alcoholic beverages they had and basically ask them to give me that each time.

I'll likely try the same this time around though as I haven't yet dropped this baby weight (still breast feeding and honestly couldn't be bothered) not sure it will be as easy. So excited to join this thread . Sticky beans to us all!

FingersCrossedXXX · 01/05/2023 16:41

@TrudyProud I quite like the non-alcoholic rekorderlig ciders but just can't drink too many. It's a good idea about possibly telling the bar start to get you that one each time though so you don't necessarily have to specify a non-alcoholic one!

@sashastuck Thank you. I hope everything goes well for you and the rest of the ladies too.

Vikki7 · 01/05/2023 20:08

2 days ago, I cracked open a double yoked egg for my daughters meal. I thought nothing of it but then today making pancakes for breakfast, I cracked open another double yoker! I'd heard that it's a sign of twins. I have got twins running through the maternal side of my family and I've conceived twins before. Has anyone else considered what it might be like to have (or already have) experience of multiples?

Omg! I had a double yolk on the 17 April as I text my DH about it!!

I didn’t know I was pregnant yet but was probably about a week post ovulation. What are the chances! (well, 1 in 1,000 šŸ˜‚). Hope it’s not twins, not sure I’d cope!

TrudyProud · 01/05/2023 21:00

@Vikki7 @Mushroo please keep us updated!

@FingersCrossedXXX I like them too but they are so sweet so can't have more than two really or have to have water between. Aah the joys of pregnancy 🄰

FingersCrossedXXX · 01/05/2023 21:49

@trudyproud Yeah, they do get sickly and I get too bloated if I have more than 2.

@vikki7 That is so cool! You will definitely have to keep us posted and let us know if you do end up with twins. I don't think I'd cope with twins when I already have a hyperactive toddler.

SunSparkle · 02/05/2023 05:47

@sashastuck im glad you like your birthday! That’s reassuring!

if it’s anything like my first pregnancy, baby will come 2 weeks late on 11th Jan! But they say second babies come quicker and earlier.

My toddler has decided sleep is for the weak at the moment and I’m dreading the first trimester fatigue I had last time!

buckingmad · 02/05/2023 05:50

When is everyone speaking to midwives? I don’t want to leave it too late but I also don’t want to book it and have to cancel should the worst happen. I’m also booking a private scan for just over 6 weeks.
