I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

@Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese thank you I really hope so because I just want to cry with worry
I’ve unfortunately been in agony all night, pain in my right hand side so going to have to ring EPD and get a scan incase of eptopic I think 😩

suz2285 · 24/05/2023 07:16

@lucya66 yep I hear ya! I'm not even 6 weeks yet but was feeling constantly nauseous all day, tbh I'm a wuss and I pre ordered cyclizine incase I felt sick so I've been taking that... I know some gps want you to try ginger, sickness bands etc first but yeah everyone I know who's felt awful said to get the tablets asap and don't suffer

I honestly couldn't function if I felt that bad all day! It's not fair to try and get through normal life feeling so rough all the time! The cyclizine is def helping!

@FirstT1meMum yeah you need to stop taking the tests now you'll just end up
Making yourself feel worse analysing the colours of the lines and it doesn't mean anything now, do you have an early scan booked?

@Dannic2018 yeah sounds like it could be wind, sorry it's so bad! Could you try and do some stretches see if it helps? You can google them... good luck if you decide to go to EPU I'm sure all is fine

sashastuck · 24/05/2023 07:20

@Dannic2018 I’ve had trapped wind too, it’s so painful! I woke up feeling like sh*t today to be honest. Couldn’t stomach my coffee so think the start of nausea has kicked in.

@FirstT1meMum I agree, no more tests! I think I did about 6 in total but stopped before 6 weeks. You’ll drive yourself mad xx

Mummyme87 · 24/05/2023 07:21

@Dannic2018 i would definitely go to A&E or EPU if you have a walk in service if the pain is that bad to rule out ectopic.

sashastuck · 24/05/2023 07:21

@Dannic2018 also I really hope today goes well, sorry to hear you’ve been in pain. I must start reading all of the comments properly before posting x

Luhou · 24/05/2023 07:31

@Dannic2018 hope all okay. I've been experiencing some sharp pain low down but it goes with movement like standing up, coughing or laughing. I think it is most likely muscular related, could this be the case for you? Hope it'd good news for you x

Yeah, booked in for Sunday as I couldn't wait any longer! 🤣 Especially as I still haven't heard from my midwife yet!

FirstT1meMum · 24/05/2023 07:35

@sashastuck
Thank you! Will definitely come off them!

Matildahoney · 24/05/2023 07:51

@FirstT1meMum I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, I called the midwife self referral team yesterday as they told me I'd hear within 2 weeks (2 weeks ago) they have a massive back log here and I should hear by end of this week or early next week. Every trust is different, and stress is not good for the baby!

Miniheart · 24/05/2023 08:26

Hi all, hope it’s ok to join, I’m 5 weeks pregnant today, natural cycles says due date is 24th January. This is my second pregnancy, I’m 39 with a 21 month old. It’s so nice to be able to have a forum to come to when in these early weeks. I have no real obvious symptoms yet, but thinking back I wonder if week 6 is when that kicked in last time. When would people suggest is the best week to book an early scan? 8 weeks? Sending positive vibes to you all x

If you can wait then yeah I'd say 8 weeks is good because it's about half way between finding out and the 12 week scan and you also get to see a good amount.

I went around 8 weeks with my first but 6+2 this time round and I saw a lot less this time round. I'm still glad I went as I saw the heartbeat but it's now a long time till the next scan šŸ˜…

I also only went at 6+2 this time because I knew with certainty when I conceived (within 2-3 days as we only DTD twice the month we got pregnant). Whereas if I wasn't sure then I would have given it at least another week just to avoid that risk of not seeing the heartbeat cause it's too early.

suz2285 · 24/05/2023 09:01

@FirstT1meMum how far along are you? glad you've got a scan in, those tell you way more early on than a test does 😊

@Miniheart yeah i'd say 8 weeks is a good time, that's when i've booked mine, i think with anything earlier there can be a risk of having inconclusive scans and then all sorts of worry!

@Matildahoney that's good to know about the backlog, here they try to get you to see the midwife around week 9, so i'll need to get mine booked in, i wasn't sure how long to leave it, last time i had a loss week 8 so never made it to the appointment, and this time i've been holding off calling them but i should just get it booked in!

Vikki7 · 24/05/2023 10:21

I've just met my midwife for our booking in appointment and she seems very nice, we've planned for my 2nd water homebirth and I made it clear I'd like a hands off approach to labour and birth.

Referrals made to relevant consultants and lots of info for local contacts should there be any problems! Feeling much more positive now!

8+1 private scan on Friday. Things are getting started and looking good!

Mummyme87 · 24/05/2023 11:58

Lovely @Vikki7

really feeling quite tired at the moment. Got a family wedding on Saturday, don’t plan on telling anyone about being pregnant but why I’m driving etc might raise eyebrows. I also need to give measurements to my sister for a bridesmaid dress for October… I’ve chosen a dress that looks a little looser but not sure what to do. Shall I just add some extra cm/inches then get it taken in if too big? I’ll be 25weeks and will be likely rather sizeable

buckingmad · 24/05/2023 12:58

@Mummyme87 god it's so hard trying to judge what will fit in the future! I got married at 35 weeks and had to have a final fitting literally days before. Depends on your bump shape too! My bump last time went out straight from my boobs so I had to buy a size 16 (I'm a size 6 otherwise) just so I could do it up around my boobs.

It's definitely easier to take in than add so I would go bigger just in case.

I've got a hen do on Saturday, luckily a very low key afternoon and evening affair but the thought still fills me with dread. I'm barely eating but I also don't fancy doing the tube etc on an empty stomach, especially if it's hot. Trying to work out the earliest I can leave šŸ˜‚

Bleeding started in the waiting room at the hospital and a scan has confirmed I’m miscarrying. I’m going to leave this thread now, but I wish you all the love and happiness with your babies xx

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's heartbreaking and so very hard. Take time to grieve and mourn. Please look after yourself and I'm sure all of us wish you the very best for the future. Take care.

@LetsGo36 so so sorry for your loss, thinking of you and hope you have the support you need around you xx

Dannic2018 · 24/05/2023 13:47

Hi all, so scan went well, I’m measuring a bit more than I thought so 6w 5 days
heartbeat visible and this was a tummy scan without a full bladder so that’s positive
I have a pool of blood at the bottom of my womb which is just enough over the threshold to warrant another scan in 2 weeks to see if it’s got bigger etc. anyone else has this before ? Urine normal. Bloods spot on and ovaries etc all checked so they don’t know what it is so I’m on painkillers and they think it might just be muscles and ligaments but this is a constant pain not like the sharp ones I get if I get up too soon etc. Trying to feel positive just hard isn’t it x

The sickness has eventually hit at 6+2 had a flight today was sick twice and still continually nauseous since. I seem to have this low grade nausea alot of the time then it ramps up. I’m hoping this gets better, first time so all very new. Hope everyone’s doing ok

stressshead · 24/05/2023 14:57
