I can see one for this so in my excitement thought I’d start one. Due date is 1st Jan for me 😊

I’m 37 and pregnant with no. 2. We tried for 4 months so lucky not too long.

@Salamander91 šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ good to know this is all normal lol šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

FingersCrossedXXX · 28/04/2023 19:23

@hylz I am doing okay thanks. I have a bad cold and my energy is completely wiped but I think that's from being under the weather. No symptoms as such yet, except slightly tender boobs! What about you?

I was lucky with my son as didn't get any bad symptoms so hopefully it is the same this time. Is this your first?

Blessedmummytobe · 28/04/2023 21:37

has anyone had any symptoms yet? Sorry if this has been talked about before. I have nothing yet. No food aversions, not sensitive to any smells, no no sickness or tender breast…nothing.

CMG92 · 28/04/2023 22:24

@Blessedmummytobe don’t worry I think at this stage it’s totally normal! My boobs are slightly tender and I had insomnia at the beginning of the week but now feel normal. Im sure they will come at some point but then again some people don’t get any! Good luck

lucya66 · 29/04/2023 05:44

Morning! The insomnia is real. I am so tired by 9 but waking at like 5:30am each morning.

Im 5 weeks today!

I’ve been lucky in that I’m v close to my sis and mum. They knew I was trying so I told them about my bfp straight away. They are supporting me and both have had kids so it’s great to learn from them about this wild journey.

Mushroo · 29/04/2023 06:16

@lucya66 snap! Why am I awake?!

Also 5 weeks today! It’s feel like a milestone as I think the baby gets the start of a heartbeat this week which is huge! Going to pee on a clear blue weeks indicator this week and hope to get that 3 plus result.

That’s nice you have the support. We’ve told no one so poor DH is having to deal with all my anxiety!

I hope my booking appointment comes through soon, want to feel like the ball is rolling.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/04/2023 07:29

@Blessedmummytobe I don’t have any. It’s normal. I think another few weeks and then they’ll come. Not looking forward to that as I remember being so exhausted last time.

Good morning all!

@FingersCrossedXXX yes this is my first, think that's why I'm a bit nervous as I've no idea what to expect. Hope you recover from your cold quickly.

I've not had many symptoms either yet. I've a few twinges/cramps and tender boobs on and off but that's all I've noticed.

Hope everyone has a nice day planned?

sashastuck · 29/04/2023 08:09

Hi everyone! Just found out I’m pregnant with our first baby this morning! Only 12dpo so very early days but I’m gonna go read every message in this thread now to ā€˜get to know’ you. Congratulations everybody! Xx

sashastuck · 29/04/2023 08:19

Okay I’m caught up. Love reading everyone’s symptoms and stories! I’m 26 and going by my app, due around Jan 8th. And my symptoms have been tender right boob, cramping after orgasm and I’ve got a bit spotty which is unlike me!

Bims2019 · 29/04/2023 09:41

@sashastuck welcome and congratulations!

@lucya66 and @Mushroo the insomnia has been real for me too! I'm never a great sleeper but finding I'm waking up several times in the night atm. Exercise seems to help a bit.

@Blessedmummytobe I think it's really normal to have no symptoms at this point. Mine have been a lot milder than I expected, I have tender boobs this morning but think that's mainly because of the progesterone pessaries I'm taking!

@Hylz morning! Quite a chilled day planned, maybe a walk if it's nice šŸ™‚ how about you?

Has anyone started telling people yet? There's a few people who knew about our treatment so we've told them, but going to wait a bit to tell people more generally. It's hard keeping a huge secret like this though!

Babydustthisyear · 29/04/2023 12:58

@sashastuck congratulations 🄰🄰

I am 5 weeks tomorrow love that it's another week gone by, I'm having alot of cramping like period cramps, weeing a lot and I mentioned before very forgetful šŸ˜‚

I have told two family members as I just can't hang on to this secret lol I feel so much better that they know. I want to wait and tell everyone else after our scan but I could blurt it out before then šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Mushroo · 29/04/2023 13:09

@sashastuck welcome and congratulations! Nice to see more people joining :)

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/04/2023 13:50

We’ve not told people though I am wondering about whether to tell my boss soon as I might need a day or two off or maybe to work from home if symptoms get bad. I’m not sure might just wait and see how I feel.

@Flynner I’m hoping having had an emergency section it should be straight forward to get a planned one approved. I’ve moved area since having my son so not familiar with maternity services here.

Thank you everyone for the congratulations! I’m so excited but know to be tentative, it’s a strange feeling isn’t it. X

I’ve told my best friend but I honestly can’t imagine how I’m going to keep this secret for another 2 months! @Babydustthisyear I feel the same as you! I needed the release of telling someone šŸ˜‚I live quite a way away from my family so going to need to find a time to visit and tell them in person eek!

Wanderlust86 · 29/04/2023 15:28

Hi, congratulations to everyone! It's so nice to read everyone's stories.
I've just finished a week of night shifts which was difficult as I couldn't sleep properly. The cramping I had has stopped now but still getting new spots on my face everyday, definitely not glowing! I've been getting quite moody too for no apparent reason, everything seems to annoy me. Maybe it's just the lack of sleep. My poor OH is taking it well though.

I think I'm 5+5 now and waiting to hear back about a midwife appointment.

We haven't told anyone yet but because of my job I might have to tell them before 12 weeks. It's hard keeping the secret though.

Wanderlust86 · 29/04/2023 15:34

5+3 not 5+5, I'm getting ahead of myself!

FingersCrossedXXX · 30/04/2023 07:39

We haven't told anyone yet but I have a night out planned soon with several friends, which was organised by me (before I found out I was pregnant!) and was meant to be a bit of a boozy one! If they know I am not drinking, they will know instantly. I'd rather not announce it until I have at least had my early scan but don't see how I will get away with it!

Babydustthisyear · 30/04/2023 07:43

@FingersCrossedXXX I'm the same I have a hen party very soon Iv already paid my money and I really don't want to tell anyone because it's still so early, I'm going to try to and keep it a secret 🤐 lol gona be really tough lol

I’m really struggling with this. My friendship circle will always drink and it’s immediately obviously if I don’t.

I’ve been having some alcohol free beers but even that is tricky as requires me or DH to go to the bar alone and decant it into a glass without anyone seeing.

I have a big boozy wine tasting coming up and I’m just going to have to cancel which is annoying, as I’m fine having soft drinks, but just don’t want people to know.

Im really not enjoying all this secrecy and worry about things going wrong, I can’t wait for post 12 weeks.

I can’t even say I’m driving as no one would ever drive into the city centre!

Maybe try the alcohol free beer? (If you like beer). The other option that works at more causal events like bbqs is accept an alcoholic drink and just have it generally around, but then just drink soft drinks.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 30/04/2023 08:27

There was a thread about this recently. I can’t find it as didn’t comment on it. Everyone seemed to agree that you can’t give the antibiotics excuse as it’ll be seen through. The most agreed thing to do is not have any excuse to draw attention to the fact you’re not drinking and just pretend drink and dump drinks. Also order virgin cocktails that’ll look like the real thing although you’d have to go up to bar so no one sees it. It does seem such a faff though and you’re supposed to enjoy a night out not be worrying about hiding things.

I’m lucky in that I only have some family events coming up and I don’t drink much at those anyway so can get away with it.

Congratulations everyone, I found out I was pregnant yesterday and this will be baby no 3 for me. I have a 16 year old and a 13 year old and I’m so scared when I have to tell them šŸ™ˆ. Im bit of an older mummy at 41 and got married last august to my other half of 7 years. I got my coil removed 5 weeks ago due to a few ongoing issues. We decided to give this a shot over 6 months and never did I think it would have happened so soon. It’s still a little shocked X

Congratulations to you too. I'm an older Mama too at 39. This will be my 3rd. I have a 6 year old and an almost 4 year old. We were TTC since last Summer. You're so very lucky to get caught so early! I'm very nervous too as have had a twin MMC in April '18 before having my son.

ThomasinaLivesHere · 30/04/2023 10:02

@Cocopops03 Congrats! I’m older mum too. Hopefully your children will be excited.

Congratulations @Cocopops03 ! X

The drinking thing is difficult, my friends knew that we were trying so I used that as an excuse the past couple months so I can just carry it on now I guess. My friends are dotted all over so I’m hoping I won’t see many until I’m further along! I agree about mocktails and non alcoholic drinks but you’d need to be at the bar for that!

Has anyone else’s breast pain been fluctuating depending on time of day? I wake up sore, have sore moments in the evening, but right now for example they don’t hurt that much?
