@monsteramunch Hope your appointment went well. Did you manage to see an endocrinologist? I don’t have personal experience but know a bit about it because of my job. They should monitor you more regularly and start you on the anti thyroid medication asap. It’s really good they’ve picked it up and you’re doing everything you can to protect baby x

@ttcttc ah fab! I find myself flitting between this thread & the November one. My EDD is 3 Nov so far.

I only asked cos there was like 6 vials of blood she took but she said what each of them were for & that it wasn’t used for the combined test! I can’t remember what they were now.. maybe sickle cell, hepatitis & a blood type. I was in there so long I forgot most of it now! x

katherine123x · 05/04/2023 18:27

One very comfy lazy baby
Didn’t want to move for the lady after jumping weeing shaking
She says baby is very comfy and happy and healthy but to come back next week so she can screen But says 12 weeks! 💗💙
Could see baby wriggling around and their hands and feet everywhere. She couldn’t get a brilliant photo because of the angle but will get another next week. Baby was head down and just didn't want to move!!!! But hey I get another scan!!

October - into the second trimester!
Hopefulx · 05/04/2023 18:49

@katherine123x congratulations and how exciting you get to see them next week. Did you have you bloods taken for the combined test today?

I have my scan tomorrow and am so nervous 😬

Thanks so much for your lovely message. I've been referred to an endocrinologist and the GP said he's asked for me to see them ASAP but due to bank hol it's likely to be middle of next week rather than any earlier.

He said he wants them to make the decision looking at my other risk factors (obviously) so pregnancy and epilepsy. And said I'll likely have blood tests every few weeks too.

Told me as I'm eating super healthily and doing all the right stuff on paper, there's nothing I'm doing 'wrong' as such and it's just an underlying thing which has made me feel a bit less rubbish.

If another pregnant woman said this to me I would tell her to not be hard on herself and it's unfair etc but god I feel this huge weight of wanting to be a healthy host for the baby and keep worrying I'm letting them down a bit with my underlying conditions. Which is especially silly as my epilepsy is controlled so not really an issue anyway!

Just need to try to chill out a bit and focus on all the positive stuff I'm doing for little one!

How are things with you this week?x

monsteramunch · 05/04/2023 18:59

@katherine123x

So cute! Flowers

Chanteuse · 05/04/2023 19:07

@katherine123x lovely scan pic!! I also have a comfy lazy baby 🤣🤣

katherine123x · 05/04/2023 19:13

@Hopefulx nope! She said to do it all next week!!
@Chanteuse did you have to have another scan too? She even tried internal and baby wouldn't budge!

I'm glad to know everything is ok. She printed me a photo anyway which she didn't need to do and I was grateful to have something to take away 💕 will be able to compare in a few weeks too!

FirstTimeMamaB · 05/04/2023 19:16

@katherine123x congratulations mama! Beautiful picture of a very cosy looking baby! 💕

FirstTimeMamaB · 05/04/2023 19:19

I'm loving seeing all these beautiful babies all cosy and wriggling around 😭 My 12 week scan is on Tuesday and it can't come quick enough. Feel like my anxiety gets worse the closer it gets! We had an early scan at just before 7 weeks so so ready to see them!

RE telling people, our parents and siblings know (purely for the reason we would want them to know and support should the worst happen), plus it's their first grandchild so it's been really special sharing these early days with them! Our bosses also know but they're sworn to secrecy and was circumstantial not really by choice!

iloveeggs · 05/04/2023 19:20

@katherine123x congrats, v cute 💕

SnookyPook · 05/04/2023 19:52

@Mldn @ttcttc I'm also flitting between both groups! Due date currently 30th Oct but my first was 7 days over so could deffo be a November baby. Quite funny being the last to hit all the milestones here and one of the first in the November group. Provides a nice balance 😆

Summer022 · 05/04/2023 20:01

@FirstTimeMamaB ahhh my 12 week scan is on Tuesday too!! Feels so far away especially with the bank holiday weekend 😆

FirstTimeMamaB · 05/04/2023 20:13

@summer022 yay!! I know right... I'm really hoping that the bank holiday will fly by (like it usually does) and that'll help us get there quicker! 🤣

Soda123x · 05/04/2023 20:20

Finally been for my booking in appt today (11+2) after it being cancelled twice due to staff sickness / shortages etc ... they booked my scan in whilst I was there but it's not until 19th April. I will be 13+2 (LMP DATE)

I have had 2 scans already one at 6 weeks and one at 8 weeks due to on/off bleeding etc ... with no bleeding since so hoping everything all still OK. It just feels like a lifetime away with 2 weeks to wait still xx

VictoriaBlossom · 05/04/2023 20:20

@SnookyPook i feel really behind and I'm 26/27th October due.
Getting to 12 weeks really seems to be dragging. Only 12 days til my scan. But mannnnn it's a drag

ForeverAndEvers · 05/04/2023 20:50

@LR94 sorry for the slow reply, hectic day at work but definitely ring if you're worried. Hope you can get some reassurance soon. I'm feeling better than I was but still just so tired and nauseous.

Great to see everyone's updates and scan photos.

BeaKind · 05/04/2023 21:12

@SnookyPook & @VictoriaBlossom I’m in the late club too. 29th Oct based on when I ovulated. Next weekend I’ll be 12 weeks so if I say it like that it doesn’t feel toooo long away 😅 oh and ds was 14 days overdue 😂 really hoping this one won’t be so stubborn!

SnookyPook · 05/04/2023 21:27

@Soda123x @VictoriaBlossom my scan isnt until 28th April 😩 Not only is it late in the group due to late due date but it's also not until I'm almost 14wks..! It's taking forever!! @BeaKind oh man 14 days! 😵‍💫

VictoriaBlossom · 05/04/2023 21:40

@BeaKind to be honest I want my dd to be 31st 👻
So keeping my fingers crossed that my dates are wrong. This wasn't a planned pregnancy and according to my ovulation app- I should have ovulated 2 days earlier. So something was very wrong 😂
@SnookyPook maaaate how the hell is it that late, surely bloods need to be taken at 10-14 weeks?
My dog literally doesn't leave my side now she can smell my hormones i swear. I can't even take a wee in peace.
She sleeps with me and used to sleep at the foot of the bed, now sleeps against my belly or my back. Anyone else got this with their furry friends?

Onethingiwantfor23 · 05/04/2023 22:01

Has anyone's symptoms disappeared? I've not been nauseous (not been sick throughout) for 2 days now and I don't feel ravenous like I have been. I'm 11 weeks today. I have about a week and a half 'til my scan but getting a bit anxious as I don't feel or look pregnant at all.

NattyMags · 05/04/2023 22:17

Hello! 13w3d here! Just seeing what this is all about (after being told about it by my big sister)
Slightly older mum here (just turned 40) 4th pregnancy (none of the others got past 10 weeks!)

Struggling a bit with constant nausea and vomiting, plus lots of cramping recently and (TMI, sorry) now a UTI... pregnancy is just not my favourite! Lol

Mldn · 05/04/2023 22:31

@SnookyPook haha defo! In the November group I’m one of the first & need reassurance, so just come to this group to see what I’m due to expect in coming weeks etc! Roll on the 12 week mark 🤞🏼

Phoenixwings1989 · 05/04/2023 22:41

@katherine123x aww that's a lovely pic of baby. My daughter was lazy too when it came to scans. I had to do all sorts to try to get her to move around/participate. I lost count how many times I had to go back to get rescanned 🤦🤭.

Speaking of when to tell people I'm wondering when and how to tell my three year old she won't be an only child anymore. The thought terrifies me. I had a negative experience when it came to finding out I was going to have a brother at the age of six so I'm already thinking she's going to hate it like I did 🙈.

Husband thinks putting a scan photo inside a card stating big sister will be a nice way for her to find out but I'm not sure.

Also with me having the hematoma my anxiety is heightened. I know it is located outside from where baby is but I'm still scared of jeopardising the pregnancy by announcing. I guess there's no rush to reveal. I'll wait until I'm ready. Though at this rate baby will be born before I say anything 🙈

Alexandra07 · 05/04/2023 23:16

@NattyMags congratulations reaching week 13!! You had a long journey!

@Phoenixwings1989 my daughter is 5.5 and I plan to tell her after my 12 week scan and after I get my nipt results back. Hopefully everything will be ok. I plan to tell her we are expecting a baby as a family and that she will become a big sister, then have a small party just me, my partner and my daughter with clues around the house to find the gender. I will know the gender from the nipt. I want her to get excited and I don't want her to have the time to think she may want a sister and not a brother, especially if I am having a boy! I wouldn't do a gender reveal for family or friends but I think my daughter will enjoy.
If she was younger, I would probably try to wait longer just in case something goes wrong and because it's too long for them to wait 6 months. But I need to explain to her why mummy can't take part in her wild games!
