@Mldn I'm the same, memory like a sieve.

These are the bloods I've had. No idea what it means but nobody has called it's just what's in my app

@Onethingiwantfor23 mine have and a lot of other ladies too around this sort of time. I'm 12 weeks but they've been gone a few days or at least massively eased!!

Woke up in the night with horrendous lower back pain. Thought i was going to be sick. Not sure if that's time for my pillow to arrive or just where I was prodded so much trying to get baby to turn!

monsteramunch · 06/04/2023 07:49

Good luck to everyone who is having scans or tests today!

I've taken my first antibiotic of the day and now got that thing where it's either stuck in my throat or has bashed it on the way down and just feels like it's stuck. Not surprised, the size of them!

One more sleep til our scan, not long now.

Hi all, anyone had any odd reactions from family members? My parents are over the moon, which is lovely. We told them at 10 weeks after a reassurance scan. Hugs, congrats, some happy tears etc....all lovely.

We told in-laws 2 weeks later (delay was logistical and not deliberate) and apparently they were very very unsurprised and we received a kind of subdued/muted reaction. I am not showing yet btw. The baby will be the first grandchild and previously we thought they would be super excited about it. This is just based on previous comments over the years. DH later joked that we shouldn't have bothered telling them if they already "knew" and were 100% expecting it. 😂

I am not naive enough to think that baby news is exciting for everyone (people have their own worries, interests etc), but you do kind of expect a certain level of reaction from close family...even just a congrats. Maybe I am just a bit hormonal at the moment though?

There were some comments about us keeping it quiet for so long, and we should have told them sooner... 🤔They were unaware of when we told my parents, so it wasn't a comparison thing. Their main concern was when they could tell wider family and when the news could be shared.

Anyway, that's my rant! Anyone else had any odd reactions yet?

So are they not pleased?

I've only told a few people, they all seemed happy. My mum more than partners

6strings1song · 06/04/2023 09:18

@ttcttc MIL seemed more pleased than FIL (who didn't react at all... not even a nod or smile). They definitely weren't disappointed or displeased, but were just quite ...neutral. Hard to explain really.

With previous happy news (us telling them we were getting married) there were happy tears and hugs and all sorts...which is what we expected with the baby news. This time it was almost as if we had told them we had decided to paint the living room or something! 😂

I am willing to accept I am being a bit hormonal, sensitive and overthinking things.

I had a bit of a funny turn yesterday - was getting my eyebrows done and all of a sudden was hot, sweaty, shaking, felt dizzy and like I was going to throw up! So I can straight home and lazed round for the rest of the day. I’m off work currently and I think it’s a bit of a sign I need to rest - I’ve been off since Saturday and spent the whole weekend decorating, had my scan Monday, worked Tuesday and yesterday (in school with year 10s/11s) and then went shopping afterwards. It’s frustrating really because that’s a normal amount of activity for me - actually I’d usually do more! 🥴

VictoriaBlossom · 06/04/2023 09:59

@6strings1song I'm expecting the reception you got when we tell the IL's
Had numerous baby comments every time I see them, with FIL shaming me on Mother's Day that it was "disappointing" I didn't have news.
I know they'll complain we didn't tell them sooner so I'm definitely watching the replies to your post to see what others have done in response.
I would have told them if they could keep a secret but they have a big gob, if it was up to me I'd not tell them til 39 weeks. 😂

SockwithSpots · 06/04/2023 10:22

Hi,
I've been lurking and following along for a while now. I'm 10+4 (another late October DD) and really struggling with nausea.
I am just feeling so rough all the time and wonder if anyone else is struggling in this way? I feel nauseous all day, every day but it's worse when I'm tired - was being sick at the weekend after working last week. Thankfully, I'm on Easter holidays now (I'm a teacher) and can pretty much stay horizontal to manage it but I hate it. I just want to be able to enjoy things again and not feel like such a couch potato.
I can just manage to walk the dog round the block, but I'm so tired that I can't go further and I don't know if it's the pregnancy or the fact I'm just sitting/lying down all day.
Is anyone else feeling this way? Does it end soon?!
Sorry for the moan 🙄

LR94 · 06/04/2023 11:06

@SockwithSpots Im 11+2 and still feel nauseous but not as bad as i did week 6/7. I feel like i’ll have one day where i have energy and the next I’m exhausted! Apparently 2nd trimester you start to feel normal again so at least we don’t have much longer to wait!

@6strings1song i’m abit nervous to tell people, we haven’t told anyone yet and we always said we would wait until 12 weeks. But I have a feeling friends and family will be happy but also will make comments about not mentioning sooner but thats our decision to make.
we have friends who told people when they were 6 weeks and then she had a miscarriage and then had to tell everyone and that is just something I personally wanted to avoid.
At 6 weeks we had to have a scan because it wasn’t growing and then at 10 weeks I had a bleed so we are actually really glad we decided on 12 weeks.
its your news to share and when. Don’t allow anyone make you feel any type of negativity xxx

AlongcameLainey · 06/04/2023 11:14

One healthy bubba! It took them an age to get measurements because the baby was a constant wriggler but so relieved and now measuring 12w2d with due date of 17th October 💕

October - into the second trimester!
monsteramunch · 06/04/2023 11:15

@AlongcameLainey

Yaaaay what an amazing picture!

LR94 · 06/04/2023 11:17

@AlongcameLainey lovely picture, congratulations xxxx

peonygirl · 06/04/2023 11:34

@Chanteuse I cannot even go out of my home, yet alone decorate. I urgently need to get my nails done as they are too long but cannot get myself to the shop. I still doubt if I can go shopping for food today. I just ate - polenta with yoghurt - and am super sick now. All I can do is stay in bed, I cannot read, cannot watch much Netflix either. So I'd say you are doing quite well. The way you describe feeling shaky - I feel like that all the time and I am also very cold. I am off work for 2 weeks now, I am so tired of being tired and worry all the time there is something wrong. I also worry that my appointment with midwife is not until I will be nearly 12 weeks - how would they even do all the tests they should do? I find all this really hard.

peonygirl · 06/04/2023 11:38

@AlongcameLainey beautiful picture, I am sure you are very happy. The bubba already looks cute :)

Chanteuse · 06/04/2023 11:43

@AlongcameLainey beautiful scan pic!

@peonygirl sorry to hear you’re feeling so awful! It’s really tough. If it’s any consolation I’m 13+4 so only really started feeling ‘normal’ this week… I wouldn’t have been able to do any of the above a few weeks ago, even a day at work was killing me!

PeopleAreToads · 06/04/2023 12:03

@AlongcameLainey lovely scan photo! We're due date twins!

katherine123x · 06/04/2023 12:33

@AlongcameLainey ahh yayyyyy!!! What a beautiful scan photo. So pleased for you. Congratulations mama 🌸

AlongcameLainey · 06/04/2023 12:37

Thank you every one!

ah yay glad to have a due date twin @PeopleAreToads

ahh thank you @katherine123x same for you too! Did you have an updated due date or do you have to wait for the next scan xxx

cruciverbalista · 06/04/2023 13:04

@peonygirl so sorry you are struggling so much. How far along are you? Have you spoken to the midwives or your GP? There is medication you can take to help you get through x

Hopefulx · 06/04/2023 13:06

Congratulations @AlongcameLainey beautiful pic 🫶🏼

we have also just had our scan, they were also so wriggly but a healthy bubba. Currently measuring 12+3 with a due date of 16th October 💞 you can see their two feet top left 😂

October - into the second trimester!
AlongcameLainey · 06/04/2023 13:07

Ahh congrats @Hopefulx! Lovely picture ❤️

monsteramunch · 06/04/2023 13:22

Oh @Hopefulx what a gorgeous scan! Flowers

katherine123x · 06/04/2023 13:39

@AlongcameLainey she said I was 12 weeks exactly which would make 18/10 I think but will wait until next scan to know for sure!

AlongcameLainey · 06/04/2023 13:41

Ahh lovely we are around the same time then @katherine123x xx
