@Babybaby66 my 4D scan was lovely and I don’t regret it even a single bit.
Re the hair she basically said it’s to do with my circulation and sugar doesn’t help hence why I’ve got an infection bla bla bla.
I didn’t think I was going crazy given my size and weight gain.
She’s just really got in my head 🤦🏻‍♀️

@PurBal was a private online video appt.
She was honestly horrible and made me feel so bad for not being some super clean eating mummy 😭

@Babybaby66 I'm pretty sure ours is the Pacapod Hartland but we bought it in 2019 so I bet there is a newer version. It's still immaculate. It came with a little changing mat and a free aden and anais Swaddle back then which was lovely.

C1umsyGiraffe · 06/04/2023 21:19

We're going to get the mamas and papas Strada for our pram - live in a city but will be using it every day so wanted it to be sturdy. Ordering it this weekend and I'm so excited!

Our friend is giving me her next to me crib so that'll be helpful 😊

BobbySD345 · 06/04/2023 21:46

How many of each size sleepsuit are you all putting in the hospital bag? I can't remember what i did for DS. We have some under 8lb from when he was born plus first size/newborn/up to 1 month and then 0-3. Maybe 3 of each and only the under 8lb if I go into labour early again?

Just counted the muslins and we have 20 for her haha. May have over ordered ! DS absolutely loves his though and uses them for comfort still now at 3.5.

Zaalfruit · 06/04/2023 21:59

@firsttimelondonmummy I am in shock - I have never heard of anyone being told to to cut out sugar for an ingrown . I tried to google it but nothing correlates . I feel for you - my diet consists of sugar and junk as everything makes me feel sick. I really think you should get a second opinion and for them to explain how sugar is causing it . ( I asked my brother who is a doctor and he said he hasn’t seen any studies for non diabetics to cut out sugar for ingrowns he said maybe they treating it the same way as acne? - something about how sugar can cause excess sebum which can cause spots and inflammation) Also your not a bad mum to be - you are really nice and super caring towards everyone here and we are all strangers ! So imagine how caring you will be as a mother!

( I’m going to put out here - I can’t wait to give birth - I can’t be sick anymore . Everything tastes gross and metallic . Need the next few weeks to fly by )

PurBal · 07/04/2023 06:10

@firsttimelondonmummy that’s awful, I’m sorry you were made to feel like that. FWIW I’m eating a lot of biscuits, I feel light headed if I don’t eat enough!
@BobbySD345 I’m going with 3 up to 1 month. I figure it doesn’t matter if they’re a touch big.

Mistymeow · 07/04/2023 08:57

@firsttimelondonmummy yes, my consultant told me to watch my diet and cut out sugar and test with a monitor even though I have passed 2 GTTs this pregnancy. I had it in my first pregnancy so according to him I’ve “clearly got a problem regulating my blood glucose.” I told my midwife and she said ignore him (words to that effect!). I tested my blood sugar a few times and no issues at all. I think some doctors are overly cautious and have terrible bedside manners. Sorry you experienced that, I would get advice from your midwife.

Sleep-wise we are using the pram bassinet for daytime naps (it’s safe sleep approved) and a sleepyhead when I’m in the same room. Upstairs we have a tutti bambini cozee next to me. All second hand but I bought new mattresses.

Bablond · 07/04/2023 09:11

@C1umsyGiraffe we looked at the Strada too, it's quite similar to the Nuna Triv but a little bit heavier - but the Triv doesn't come with a foot muff or anything - seems like the perfect pram doesn't exist!

@firsttimelondonmummy I'd definitely be getting a second opinion!

C1umsyGiraffe · 07/04/2023 09:33

@Bablond isn't it so hard! There are so many options it's quite overwhelming! Going to look at baby carriers this weekend for walking the dog and I worry it'll be a similar minefield 😂

Hlc86 · 07/04/2023 09:45

@firsttimelondonmummy I have never heard of that either, surly a course of antibiotics would have been the way forward if you have an infection, some doctors have no bed side manner at all so I wouldn't let them make you feel like a bad mum and plus everyone needs abit of chocolate in their life pregnant or not.

And re storage of things, we are lucky enough to have a very large garage so I tend to store most of the things in there once we have finished with them or up the loft if you have one?

tigerlily0 · 07/04/2023 11:33

Can anyone recommend a sleeping pod like sleepyhead or purflo. 7 years ago I remember there being only sleepyhead but now there seems to be loads. I also want a bjorn bouncer and a carrier - possibly bjorn because 7 years ago that was the best on the market. Now there's so many !

tigerlily0 · 07/04/2023 11:43

Just realised I need a baby monitor/camera too ! Forgot how many things a baby needs

firsttimelondonmummy · 07/04/2023 12:03

Thank you so much everyone for taking the time out to reply/ give me some advice and @Zaalfruit for the kind words ❤️
You have all pretty much reaffirmed what I thought might be the case!
I couldn’t wrap my head around it either so I had a twix and a carrot cake with my lunch 😁
I just can’t imagine shaming someone like that.
Clearly she’s never been pregnant and experienced cravings.
Pregnancy sugar cravings are wild 😳

@tigerlily0 I have done a bit of research on monitors and the ‘Nanit Pro Complete Baby Monitoring System’ seems to come out on top consistently.
Not cheap but hi-tech and hi res.

BobbySD345 · 07/04/2023 12:11

@tigerlily0 if it helps we use the Nooie 360 camera for our DS having used 2 or 3 proper baby monitors when he was smaller and found them unreliable and way overpriced. The 360 is only a camera do you do need a tablet or one of those alexa screens. We just use the iPad with the nooie app and it works seamlessly. Much cheaper and much better picture quality.

Dewintergarden · 07/04/2023 13:11

Hello, any spd/pgp sufferers could you let me know what's helped you cope please? Mines come on the last couple of days and even though I haven't been diagnosed I've looked up the symptoms and think I've probably got it due to the heavy bowling ball pain in the front of my pelvis and my coccyx. Walking is definitely exacerbating it. Thank you!

Re: monitors I've gone with the owlet.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 07/04/2023 16:31

@firsttimelondonmummy I think that GPs advice can be completely ignored!

I have been given a Motorola camera monitor and an angel care one.
We are having a play to see how they work.

My mum 8lis washing a load of clothes given by my sister. This is load 1 of 3 apparently! She has told me to stop shopping now!

firsttimelondonmummy · 07/04/2023 17:14

Afternoon all,
Was going to hold off buying a pump until I found out if I could breastfeed but at £144 off the Elvie Double at boots it made sense to buy it as I can likely sell it for more than it cost me should things not work out.
Posting incase anyone else needs one and wants to grab it whilst there is a significant amount off 🥰

@BobbySD345 we have that one too and it’s fab.

Babybaby66 · 07/04/2023 19:26

@Dewintergarden I’m thinking of the owlet too - I’m obsessed with my own sleep stats on my Fitbit so this will just be another thing to obsess over 😂

@DrinkingAllTheGin ahhh how nice is it to see baby washing on the line! My sister told me ‘she hadn’t kept anything from my niece’ and then cracked out a whole storage basket of clothes so I’ve now got loads!

@firsttimelondonmummy argh I’m ready torn with getting the elvie beforehand. I’ve put it in my basket and taken it out so many times!! It’s back in again now but let’s see if I get through to checkout this time…!

BobbySD345 · 07/04/2023 19:45

@DrinkingAllTheGin This was our line today ! With the warm weather I decided to do all of the newborn to 3 month bits ! So cute to see all the little sleepsuits and vests hanging.

firsttimelondonmummy · 07/04/2023 19:55

@Babybaby66 I honestly only did it because of the £144 discount.
I was convinced I’d wait till after he was born and then I was like wait hold up that’s a lot of money off that I can then buy other nice baby things with 😂

Givealittlebit · 07/04/2023 21:07

Hello! Just joining again for thread 5!

We have nothing yet and are v unprepared. Need to get up in the loft and see what we still have!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 07/04/2023 21:12

My sister seems to have kept loads! Niece is 7 now! As we are not finding out if a boy or girl, we are taking the neutral stuff and mum is hanging on to the rest for now.
Even got 2 electric pumps and a manual, bottles, storage bags, loads of bits.

Niece was born at 30+4 so I am now further along. Scared me a bit into packing a bag this evening.

BobbySD345 · 07/04/2023 21:25

Also, I've got a mum hack after seeing that washing line pic. Vests with poppers, just hang them upside down and do the poppers up either side of the line, no need for pegs then !
