Thanks, it is lovely and sunny here today.
DH bought me lego flowers so I'm busy making them.

BobbySD345 · 03/05/2023 16:50

Is anyone else finding their hand eye coordination absolutely shocking ?! I must have dropped atleast 15 things today. I feel like my body is having a laugh as I can barely bend down to pick anything up 😆

dresslol · 03/05/2023 18:12

Happy Birthday @DrinkingAllTheGin hioe you’ve had a fun and sun filled day x

toomanysausages · 03/05/2023 18:55

Thank you ladies for the replies earlier regarding short femur. Spoke to the midwife yesterday and she said she thinks baby's growth is evening out to "fit" me more.

Happy birthday @DrinkingAllTheGin ! Lovely day for it! Lego flowers sound fab. My brothers are massively into Lego (mostly Harry Potter) hope the baby likes it as she gets older and can build lots too🤞

AngelBlue12 · 03/05/2023 20:53

@BobbySD345 I’m in ROI and here they do like a mini scan every 4weeks instead of doppler so that’s how they know bub is still breech x

Babybaby66 · 03/05/2023 22:15

Happy birthday @DrinkingAllTheGin !

@BobbySD345 i had a growth scan at 30 weeks and 34 weeks which is how I knew. Also my friend who is an obstetrician was down over the weekend and checked for me (just by feeling externally!)

will have another scan at 36 weeks to check if she has moved but I think that she has been like this for so long as I’ve always had really low movements.

@Kelvie103 my big movements are all low down in my tummy but otherwise not sure how to describe it! I’ve been on twice for reduced movement so definitely go in if you’re worried. I really hate the pressure of being the only one that can decide if it’s ‘normal’ or not!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 03/05/2023 22:48

Thanks everyone. Had 2 meals out with 2 puddings so pretty good day.
At my last check bubs was transverse. Hoping that they move but open to C-section if needed.

Bablond · 04/05/2023 07:52

I'm still breech too, didn't realise it was so common! 2 more weeks till another growth scan and then they'd book in a section if still breech - not what I had in mind but not too bothered I guess

Dewintergarden · 04/05/2023 08:52

Happy Birthday for yesterday @DrinkingAllTheGin

I am breech too at 34w, I'm having an ELCS at 38w.

Does anyone have any recommendations for baby sleeping bags? I'm looking at 0.5tog tommee tippee one newborn. But not sure if the baby will need a 1tog as well as June isn't always very hot.

Babybaby66 · 04/05/2023 09:00

So many breech babies!

has anyone ever had the ECV before (the manual process to turn them)? the success rate of these seems to be below 50% abd they sound painful!!

@Dewintergarden im so clueless and didn’t even know 0.5 tog existed! I’ve got a couple of 1 tog love to dream swaddles. When I look at the temperature charts and what to dress babies in I remember thinking this seemed a rough temp for June…I’ve tried to post a link to the table I was looking at but it keeps crashing my phone. Will try again in a bit…

Ally1992 · 04/05/2023 10:52

Had the last growth scan today and they have sent off a form to book the induction for 2 weeks time when I’m 37 weeks. Anyone else being induced?

BobbySD345 · 04/05/2023 11:04

@Dewintergarden @Babybaby66 re sleep bags we ended up buying a couple of the aden and anais muslin bags when our DS was small as they're a really soft fabric and very light but perfect for any slightly cooler evenings. Hope this helps 😀

BobbySD345 · 04/05/2023 11:05

@Ally1992 I had my little boy at 37 weeks 💙 How are you feeling about being induced? Is it because your baby is measuring big? X

Ally1992 · 04/05/2023 11:11

@BobbySD345 was that a normal labour or induction? He’s actually measuring normal size but because I have type 1 diabetes they want to get him out sooner, the placenta doesn’t do it’s job very well in the last few weeks with diabetics for some reason. I feel like it’s the right decision, but worried it could take a while though and once I’m in they won’t let me go home

BobbySD345 · 04/05/2023 11:40

@Ally1992 I went into labour naturally at 37 weeks but in that pregnancy I had gestational diabetes and was on Metformin and wonder if that made him come early. Not sure! Sounds terrible but getting him out was so hard and painful and he was smaller because he was 37 weeks so it's not a bad thing if they come early in my opinion 🙈 I'm worried they'll just leave me this time as for some reason I don't have GD and the baby will be huge...🤪 I have had a few friends induced and it can take a while but they had OK experiences !

AngelBlue12 · 04/05/2023 13:50

@Babybaby66 i had an ECV last time, they turned her in theatre and then held her in place whilst they broke my waters!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 04/05/2023 14:19

Just had a check up and midwife thinks baby is now head down. God they are brutal when poking around!
I have a scan at 36 so fingers crossed still in place!

Ally1992 · 04/05/2023 14:29

@BobbySD345 it could of well been the GD, I that the placenta ages faster with diabetes but not sure what evidence backs it up! Yes that is one of the reasons I am glad for the induction as he will be a bit smaller to push out 😂

Ally1992 · 04/05/2023 14:29

I read that mean to say!

ireneadler101 · 04/05/2023 15:18

Lots of breech babies on here by the looks of it!

Is anyone else's baby measuring small? We found out last week that baby has dropped from 50th to 10th centile at a growth scan (first baby was born early and small so we have extra monitoring this time around) so looks like baby might be here nearer 37 weeks than 39 (when I'm booked in for a section).

Babybaby66 · 04/05/2023 16:34

Thanks @AngelBlue12 did you get any pain relief at all? I’ve heard some horror stories about the ECVs…!

FLA92 · 04/05/2023 17:16

Does anyone else feel the baby having hiccups?!

C1umsyGiraffe · 04/05/2023 17:38

@FLA92 I think so! It feels like little popping??

I hadn't even thought about a sleeping bag yet, wasn't going to put her in one during the summer? I'm worried I've missed so much 😂 but I live in the city and there's always Amazon next day 😅

Got another growth scan after my midwife appointment today, measuring small again. She was a bit concerned and said it would be a good idea because baby was 80th percentile the first scan and 60th percentile the second so her weight gain seems to tail off. Will be interesting to see what it says, hopefully I'll get an appointment tomorrow so don't have to wait till Tuesday!

Kelvie103 · 04/05/2023 17:41

Yes I've felt the hiccups quite a few times, latest was today. Its like tiny little pulses that last for a minute or 2. Its quite cute I think. Apparently its a good thing and means they're practising breathing.

I didn't phone up in the end. Baby seems to have woken up a bit from last night. Told myself if it happens again I'll definitely phone though. Problem is he always to go through cycles of wriggling non stop and then a day or 2 of quiet so it's hard to know when to worry or not.

FLA92 · 04/05/2023 17:51

Yes I find them so cute!

I have the Tommee tippee sleep bags in all togs. Didn’t really know which would be best for summer so just got them all 😬
