@Ally1992 yes! If I lie on my left hand side and keep my hand underneath I can feeling her moving about quite well. She kicks that side more too!

firsttimelondonmummy · 12/04/2023 12:00

@Ally1992 yep! Left hand side for me, he goes mental 😂

Hlc86 · 12/04/2023 13:39

So growth scan went well, she's is on the smaller side but they are happy with that, she's weighing in at an estimate of 2lb 1oz at pretty much 30 weeks so I don't think that's too bad? My placenta has also moved up enough to "free up the exit" so won't need to go to that scan at 32 weeks now, they said I will need another growth probably at 36 weeks but will see how I go so haven't booked me in for anything yet, it was so quick it was all over within 5 mins

Belami · 12/04/2023 15:19

@Ally1992 @firsttimelondonmummy @toomanysausages me too!!!

I've been told baby boy is head down, back on right hand side , bum at the top & legs on the left hand side, that's probably why I feel most of the kicks there! So he's basically curled around like a little prawn 🍤 🤣

When we went for the 3D scan he kept putting his feet in his mouth haha! So flexible

DrinkingAllTheGin · 12/04/2023 15:40

Got my growth scan next week, as I had borderline placenta previa, I am also hoping it's moved away from the exit. I'll be 32 weeks.

ImHopeful2023 · 12/04/2023 17:21

Just had my scan @DrinkingAllTheGin my placenta had thankfully moved up hopefully yours will 2

DrinkingAllTheGin · 12/04/2023 17:53

Thanks @ImHopeful2023 . I am resigned that there is a good chance I'll be having a c-section, and if not, an induction. The joys of being an older mum to be!

ImHopeful2023 · 12/04/2023 18:12

I thought same @DrinkingAllTheGin I'm 39 first time mummy never made it this far before but thankfully my placenta had moved

DrinkingAllTheGin · 12/04/2023 18:15

I'll be 42 if bubs stays put. Already been told I'll be induced, at 39 weeks most likely.

ImHopeful2023 · 12/04/2023 18:22

Let us know how you get on @DrinkingAllTheGin

PurBal · 12/04/2023 19:38

@Hlc86 good news on your scan, I asked to have my placenta checked early so I could plan if I needed to, got it next week at 32w.

@firsttimelondonmummy I got an “any day now” comment at the weekend. I think the daggers that said “no, not any day, still 9 weeks”, I’m measuring as I should but really wish I looked smaller 😞

firsttimelondonmummy · 12/04/2023 20:02

@PurBal I had people asking me at work today if he had shrunk 😳
Some people are rude af, ignore them.

OP posts:
AstroH · 12/04/2023 20:38

@PurBal i am starting to feel very pregnant now. Mostly I am loving being in the third trimester and having a bump but today I’m very tired after a terrible nights sleep and feeling a bit blob like.

Funny how bumps can be so different even when the babies are pretty similar sizes!

Is anyone having such big baby movements that it feels a bit overwhelming at times? I am loving how active they are being, imagining them exercising and getting strong but at times it feels like their back is about to burst out of my stomach!

toomanysausages · 12/04/2023 22:14

@Belami baby girl also in prawn position! Although I call her an octopus 🐙 as that's what it sometimes feels like @AstroH baby's movements make me cringe a little sometimes, she does a certain movement that feels like she is swooping. She's doing it more often too BlushBlush@firsttimelondonmummy I think that's incredibly rude. This is my first pregnancy and I am so proud of my little bump but have had three different people say how small I am. I know it's probably supposed to be complimentary but I don't love it...

Zaalfruit · 13/04/2023 04:18

Thank you everyone about the potty training - I have decided not to do it . She doesn’t understand the whole concept ! We took her nappy off and she did a poo - without a nappy like it was so much drama . The silly healthy vistor got into my head . She was making me feel guilty for working full time and not sending her to nursery aswell . I work from home 4 days a week with 1 day at the office my husband does the same so we can manage her at home whilst saving for our deposit.

Zaalfruit · 13/04/2023 04:27

@AstroH In terms of baby movements sometimes they are so strong they actually make me vomit it’s like a feeing of being sea sick !

@toomanysausages sorry that people are saying that about your bump - they probably mean it in a complimentary way but it’s not nice if it’s not what you want to hear.

I on the flip side in this pregnancy have heard how big will your baby be - you look huge double your size . Will your baby be a 9 pounder - it’s like being pregnant has allowed people to openly fat shame. I am so glad my husband is so supportive to me when I feel like crap when people say bs .

My headaches have kicked in again - they have given me ibuprofen for it but the Risks scare me so I can’t get mySelf to take them . Any headache suffers got any tips ?

PurBal · 13/04/2023 06:37

@AstroH love the bump! I agree that movements can get a bit much. It’s a mixture of “as isn’t this lovely” and “jeez can you calm down a bit”, they sometimes make me flinch or react with “ow”.

justbelieve · 13/04/2023 07:07

Had my second growth scan last week and baby was measuring 85th (only a slight difference from the 10th they’d measured him at 2 weeks before!)

Baby was breech and is now transverse. Should I be worried or is there still time for him to move?

positivethoughts1 · 13/04/2023 08:21

@justbelieve from 10th to 85th? Wow!! I have been told the margin for error in growth scans is quite wide! Ours was 11th at 28 weeks and have another at 32 weeks so looking forward to seeing where she is then!

You're due the day after me so 30+2 now? Plenty of time for baby to her head down yet! Don't panic xxx

Givealittlebit · 13/04/2023 09:31

@Zaalfruit I'm a chronic migraine sufferer who can't take my usual preventatives in pregnancy so headaches are my speciality 😂😂

Typical things like water, no caffeine, no sugar etc. But also anti glare/blue light filters for your screen (if you work on one), 4head or the cooling patches if they work for you and change phone/tablet settings etc to dark. Sunglasses allllll the time if you squint. And this time around magnesium tablets have been my lifesaver!

positivethoughts1 · 13/04/2023 09:46

Has anyone thought about buying or has bought a tens machine for their hospital bag?

I've been looking at the boots one x

Belami · 13/04/2023 10:11

@positivethoughts1 I've bought that one! I told a friend and she just laughed as if to say it would do bigger all 🤣😬

@toomanysausages awww little octopus 🐙❤️!!!

Belami · 13/04/2023 10:13

Anyone getting terrible restless legs?? They're driving me nuts!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 13/04/2023 10:20

@Belami me! I got them a lot before pregnancy but it's every night at the moment. I have tried everything!

AngelBlue12 · 13/04/2023 10:23

@Belami have you tried tonic water? My husband finds it really helps.

@Zaalfruit remember that HV are an opt in service, you are under no obligation to see them at all 👍

@justbelieve they generally don’t worry until 36 weeks about them being head down. With my last baby she was breech, then turned at 38 weeks, went in to be induced at 40 weeks (high BP) and shed turned breech again so went for an ECV and they broke my waters to keep her in place! This bub is breech too atm so I’m expecting a replay of last time 😆
