@BobbySD345 I'm concerned mine might be too small, babies legs are in the 85th percentile!

Dewintergarden · 10/04/2023 21:38

@BobbySD345 same here I'm 30w2d and baby feels very engaged. I'm starting to worry I will give birth before my ELCS date due to the pressure in my pelvis and coccyx.
Also, has anyone suddenly got food aversions/nausea again?
My anxiety has spiralled a bit today and I called triage earlier about the pgp and they just said that they can diagnose me at my midwife appointment next week as it isn't causing me excessive pain and to just keep resting as I mentioned it has helped.

Dewintergarden · 10/04/2023 21:41

Also, this may have been mentioned up thread but has anyone opted in or out for the whooping cough vaccine. I've been forgotten off the list, so I will book in but I just wanted to see what the consensus is on here especially 2nd/3rd+ mums.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 10/04/2023 21:45

@Dewintergarden . I had mine. I am pro vaccination and this one is not for you, its for baby. First time mum.

BobbySD345 · 10/04/2023 21:52

@Dewintergarden I had my whooping cough jab last week. I'd like to make it to 35 weeks atleast but who knows. She is very low and I am very big and having sciatica and PGP. I had my DS at 37 weeks.

Givealittlebit · 10/04/2023 22:19

3rd time round here, had whooping vaccine every time!

We finally ordered bunk beds for our bigger two so might actually be able to start making some space for this one soon! Currently nothings down from the loft.

Also absolutely no low bump here. Pretty sure this baby lives exclusively in my ribs from the pain it's causing!

toomanysausages · 10/04/2023 22:50

Went to the hospital again for reduced movements this morning. Second time in two weeks. Of course baby woke up once I got there after a few minutes Hmm Because I've been to DAU twice now I have an NHS growth scan booked through the hospital. Has anybody else had this? The midwife was happy with baby's heart rate etc. her heart rate goes up a bit when she moves but apparently this is normal.

I have my whooping cough vaccine tomorrow morning. I don't bother with Covid anymore but think that the whooping cough is to protect baby so I'm happy to have it.

firsttimelondonmummy · 11/04/2023 08:58

@BobbySD345 I am still waiting to ‘pop’.
Thinking I’ll probably be sent for a growth scan next midwife appt seeing as I’ve not really added much bump since 28 weeks.

@firsttimelondonmummy you've got a lovely bump! I am at work today and noone can believe I'm only coming up to 31 weeks. They all think I'm ready to give birth 🤪

firsttimelondonmummy · 11/04/2023 11:27

@BobbySD345 I feel really wide 😭 I’d rather have popped so that at least it looks like a baby bump 🤣

Hlc86 · 11/04/2023 15:56

I've had the whopping cough jab but I didn't get the flu jab or covid booster (I've had the other covid jabs). So finally had my midwife app today after it got cancelled last week and sure enough I have to go for a growth scan as measuring 24cm and she said they go for a cm per weeks so I should be 29cm at least, but I had this with my first so knew it was coming also she baby felt the size it should be and funal measurements can be so off so I'm not worried, and with my first I hardly showed at all and she was 6lb at 2 weeks early so I'm not worried, like you @firsttimelondonmummy I'm waiting to pop but I won't hold my breath 😅

Babybaby66 · 11/04/2023 16:51

I find the external bump measurements must be so out of date - we are all different sizes to start with so how we can then expect to be the same throughout pregnancy is crazy to me.

I’ve had a growth scan and have another one booked for a couple of weeks. Actually quite nice to see the baby again!

I’m off work this week as been feeling so awful. Of course I’m actually feeling ok today so feeling a bit of a fraud but I know the sickness could come back at any second!

firsttimelondonmummy · 11/04/2023 17:07

@Babybaby66 totally agree, they seem so silly 🙄

@Hlc86 I feel like I look 20 weeks not 30 😭😂

firsttimelondonmummy · 11/04/2023 17:08

Re jabs I had a shocking flu twice in early pregnancy and so gave in and got jabbed and I did my whooping cough at the same time (forgot how painful jabs were plus I have a needle phobia 😭😂).
I think I was around 18-20 weeks when I had both.
I won’t be having Covid booster (I had two jabs pre pregnancy).

OP posts:
Hlc86 · 11/04/2023 17:18

Agree with the out dated method of measuring, it's so silly as I'm naturally petite so I'm not going to get huge I know that, but like I say I had it with my first so somewhat expected it but on the plus side at least I get to see baby again which is always nice, I might ask them to see if they can see if my placenta has moved as that's been my thing ive been fretting over somewhat

Funfamilytimes · 11/04/2023 19:03

I had both jabs. With my first pregnancy I didn’t get the covid booster and waited until I had given birth for it. But I think the whooping cough is a good one to get.
And totally agree about the bump sizes!

Hlc86 · 11/04/2023 19:26

My hospital just called, I've got my growth scan tomorrow morning at 7am 😐 wasn't expecting it to be so quick.. Or early 😅

BobbySD345 · 11/04/2023 20:09

For anyone who fancies organising their Hospital bag, I got these off amazon yesterday. They arrived today, along with some sharpies I ordered to label them up. I am super impressed for the price. Different sizes and nice and soft.
Are we allowed to post links in here ? Suppose I will soon find out when they remove the post...

rllrsk8 · 11/04/2023 20:20

Thanks @BobbySD345 for the gift ideas!

I had my whooping cough vaccine at about 22 weeks, and my covid and flu jabs early in my first trimester. Everyone's choice to make and decide what's right for them.

When it comes to bump sizes, whatever anyone says to you try not to let it get to you or worry you. I feel huge and am getting the "are you sure there's just one in there" comments, and can see others are feeling worried the other way. We're all made differently and so are our bumps and babies, we've got enough to think about without other people making us feel there's something wrong. The fundal measurement is just a guide, after all. I'm more concerned about baby's head circumference being around the 95th percentile to be honest ShockGrin

C1umsyGiraffe · 11/04/2023 20:52

@rllrsk8 very well said! 💛💛

Ally1992 · 11/04/2023 21:08

Anyone else’s baby move more when they lie on a particular side? When I lie on my left side he starts moving like crazy every time and I don’t know if he’s trying to tell me he doesn’t like it 😅

Zaalfruit · 12/04/2023 02:54

Been feeling so Soddy with the sickness haven’t been able to catch up here!

I really need to get organised- nothing is prepared I have so much to do . On top of it - we have decided to potty train the toddler , I should have done it ages ago but with the sickness I just thought I can’t do it anymore - but the health vistor who came round told me she should be potty trained by now ( buts she’s only 2 !! ) feel like such a crappy mum .

The whole measuring bump thing is wild - with my daughter I was measuring huge and they did a growth scan twice wildly inaccurate as she was born at 6lbs 3 at 40 weeks plus 5 . They told me she’s would be an estimated 9lbs and for me to purchase only 9lbs plus clothes - all her clothes were comically large on her 😂😂😂😂

BobbySD345 · 12/04/2023 08:33

@Zaalfruit this makes me angry they've made you feel bad for not potty training. We started our 3 year old Son beginning of the year and he was dry for wees within a matter of days but he's on movicol and we have huge battles with constipation and overflow poos and still 4 months on we are no further forward in that regard.
I also heard when new babies come along recently potty trained children often regress and start wetting and soiling again so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Warmer weather and nappy-less play in the garden is definitely an easier way to tackle it !

AngelBlue12 · 12/04/2023 08:33

@Zaalfruit I’d have told the HV to get stuffed! If you don’t feel that she is ready for potty training all you’ll be doing is stressing you both out. Plus she will probably regress when the new baby is born, toddlers often start having more accidents when a baby sibling arrives due to all the upheaval etc. if it makes you feel better I’ve never potty trained before 3years and they’ve always caught on really quickly. No way would I be trying to get my 2yr old out of nappies just now, she’s not ready.

ireneadler101 · 12/04/2023 09:48

Another one here who has not potty trained yet - my son is 2.5 and although we're encouraging him to sit on the potty (which he will do sometimes, but mostly not), I think we're going to wait until the warmer weather and after baby has arrived - so probably when he's around 3. No point forcing these things if they're not ready!
