Due December 2023

I haven't seen one of these yet for December so thought I'd start one!

I'm due 1st December with hopefully a little rainbow.
I'm on cyclogest because I had 2 losses in the latter end of last year (October and december) at 6 weeks and 10 weeks.

Fingers crossed for lots of December babies!

I'm 7 weeks today and had booking appointment this morning by phone then go for the bloods tomorrow. I self referred at 3w5d so super early and heard from them at the beginning of this week. Just got to look out for the letter with a scan date now. Eeeek

Pitstop1986 · 20/04/2023 20:16

I went for my GP appointment today to get referred to the midwives. I'm 8+3 from my lmp but for some reason the gp receptionist refused to give me an earlier GP appointment, saying I'd have to wait until after I was 8 weeks?!

With my daughter I got the GP appointment and was referred when I found out at 5 weeks!

I walked in with my 15 month old and the Dr was astonished when I told her that I was pregnant and wanted a referral! She said I've got my work cut out having 2 so close. Not that it's her business, but I wanted a 2 year age gap and DD is a dream- lovely calm temperament and has always slept through the night. If she was a handful, we'd have probably waited! I think having two will be fine!

Pitstop1986 · 20/04/2023 20:21

I made a chicken and aubergine madras curry for me and DH for dinner. He's working late, so I usually leave his half on the hob for him to heat up when he gets back....

Only that curry hit the spot so perfectly I went back for seconds and ate his portion too! 🤣

Alexis7890 · 20/04/2023 20:36

@Pitstop1986 what a judgy doctor, plenty of people have a 2-2.5 year age gap! Ah well you’re pregnant, cooked it and so tough luck to him!

smldnlove · 20/04/2023 20:46

@DaisyMay25 @HannahLouD i dont know where I’ve got that from then! I must have made it up. Makes sense though, thank you for confirming! X

@Retrogamer your maternity services sound a lot more slick than mine! Don’t think they’d even know what to do with an app. That’s great yours was so swift and you have results soon! Hoping for similar but will wait and see how it goes! X

I've been for my early scan this evening and all went well. They were so lovely. Just one baby (phew!), Saw the heartbeat straight away. Measuring one day ahead at 7+6, so EDD is 1st December. Welcome all the newbies!

Alexis7890 · 20/04/2023 20:52

@Oldermum84 yay congratulations!!

Charlielechat · 20/04/2023 21:16

@Oldermum84 Ah lovely! Congratulations!

RamonaBadwolf · 20/04/2023 21:19

Hello, I’m not sure if I should be on the thread or not but very tentatively dipping a toe in. In theory I am 4 weeks today. I had a BFP earlier this week on FRER, but negative today. I am having SO many symptoms - boobs are massive and sore, metallic taste in mouth, running hot, dizzy spells, seeing all the time, nausea to the extent I had to run out of Sainsburys earlier because all the smells turned my stomach.

I don’t know what to think with having the negative test now. I know I’ll test again on day of period, but for now my head is spinning wondering what’s going on!

RamonaBadwolf · 20/04/2023 21:33

Oh and back pain! Have had to pop a heat patch on tonight! Got the digestive issues too. Confused. Com!

Charlielechat · 20/04/2023 21:49

@RamonaBadwolf That is so confusing for you! What tests did you use and when is AF due? I'd probably try a different brand to see.

RamonaBadwolf · 20/04/2023 22:06

The positive was FRER and neg on clear blue weeks. I’m tempted to think is was a chemical sadly, but since I’m still having symptoms I’m not sure what to think. Time will tell! AF due Saturday

Pitstop1986 · 20/04/2023 22:22

Clear blue weeks aren't as sensitive as frer, so it may just be that you are testing too early and the hcg hasn't built up enough. I'd try another frer and see if it's any darker than the first

I believe baby presents its gender in your blood etc by 6ish weeks so I'm going to keep a eye on my cravings from that point on!

With my first I "knew" from 6 weeks that it was a girl. Just woke up one day and felt it. Very strange. I was so set on it that I even bought "girl" things.

Is anyone going to find out the gender?

Oo that's amazing. I was convinced I was having a boy first time round but I think that's mainly because we both wanted a girl and didn't want to be disappointed if it was a boy so prepped ourselves for a boy. It was a girl though!

We will be finding out. We did with our dd and it just seems good sense to do it this time so we know whether we need to keep her old clothes or not.

Charlielechat · 20/04/2023 22:32

Yeah I agree with pitstop! Fingers crossed for you!
Is anyone else really thirsty at night time? It just started last night for me 🤔

wannabemum38 · 20/04/2023 22:40

My maternity unit are so slow. Will be calling tomorrow to chase up my appointments. I will be 7 weeks on Saturday by my lmp cross fingers.
Doctor called me today about my migraine medication and wants me to go in on Monday to take my BP and urine test as my urine is bright yellow which is weird anyone else had this? Not got any other symptoms though so dont think its a UTI. She also seemed concerned about my mental health but it's just I'm super anxious and paranoid about losing another baby. Still can't complain at getting an appt so quick.

wannabemum38 · 20/04/2023 22:42

@Oldermum84 that's lovely to hear :) did you have a external.US or an internal?. I've got a private scan booked next weekend but would rather just an external. I will be 8 weeks by then God willing. I'm an older mum positively geriatric at 42!

Charlielechat · 20/04/2023 22:44

@wannabemum38 do you take any vitamins? Mine is always bright yellow after taking mine, it's excess B vitamins being flushed out!

wannabemum38 · 20/04/2023 22:49

@Charlielechat yeah I've been taking pregnacare original every day since I found out. I did read somewhere about it possibly being that.

YorkshireWoldsMama · 20/04/2023 23:01

Your DD sounds like a dream. And how rude is that receptionist!

I also wanted two close together. We've been TTC since DD was about 14 months and finally got pregnant this month! DD will be 2 and 1/2 when baby is born which is a slightly bigger gap than I wanted but still pretty close.

DaisyMay25 · 21/04/2023 07:38

The nausea seems to have ramped up today, gonna take biscuits to snack on at work to try keep it away as much as I can.
I've also got the shakes, anybody else got the shakes?
I might do a full urine dip at witk to check everything 😂

Mushroo · 21/04/2023 07:45

Tentatively joining after two positive cheapies. Still don’t believe it at all.

Due would be 30 December apparently so squeezing in!

What do I do? Do I contact midwife now or wait until after AF is due? (Which would be tomorrow).

Thanks! As you can tell, first time 😂

Charlielechat · 21/04/2023 07:50

Congratulations @Mushroo ! I'm due 25th so not far behind you :) (4+2 today)
I'm going to wait until 6 weeks to do my referral form, just because it says that on the form for my hospital!
@DaisyMay25 Oh poor you! I still don't have any nausea, but very sore boobs! And my BPM on my Fitbit is going up by 2 beats each day!

Mushroo · 21/04/2023 07:54

@Charlielechat brill thanks! I’ll see if I can find a form and see what it says.

A Christmas baby! How lovely for you, if that happens bet you’ll get so much attention from the midwives.

My boobs are also killing me but I always get that before AF so didn’t think much of it! I’ve stopped temping as I hated it, but my Fitbit is also surging up. It’s so interesting.

DaisyMay25 · 21/04/2023 07:56

My boobs aren't that sore unless I prob them 😂 mainly on the sides.
@Charlielechat it's awful finding so early isn't it? I feel like this first trimester is going to drag!
