Due December 2023

I haven't seen one of these yet for December so thought I'd start one!

I'm due 1st December with hopefully a little rainbow.
I'm on cyclogest because I had 2 losses in the latter end of last year (October and december) at 6 weeks and 10 weeks.

Fingers crossed for lots of December babies!

@OnNaturesCourse i agree there! I havnt stopped eating this cycle, my appetite has been huge x

bringmearainbow · 20/04/2023 10:58

@Pipiscoming2023 I would go by your lmp date until you get a scan to confirm as sperm can live for 5 days so even if you dtd on the 1st you might not have ovulated until after that

Mummy1502 · 20/04/2023 10:59

@bringmearainbow ive booked an early scan for when I’m 6+1 going by the date of my last period so will be interesting to see what baby measures x

bringmearainbow · 20/04/2023 11:03

@Mummy1502 I have a scan at the EPU tomorrow but I'm expecting to be behind by a few days tbh

OnNaturesCourse · 20/04/2023 11:05

@Pipiscoming2023 I would book a scan based on your last period and go from there. My dates have been all over the place this time. I only DTD once last month and it was outside my fertile window but as mentioned those swimmers can hang around for 5 days so... yep, it leaves a lot of room for possible conception dates.

I worked out my due date as 16th December. My HCG levels put me 2 weeks ahead of my dates so moved me to the start of December. Then my last scan changed my date again, this time to 18th December lol. What I get after my 12 week scan is what I'll put on the calendar lol.

Pipiscoming2023 · 20/04/2023 11:07

Perfect, thank you everyone. That makes me bang on 4 weeks today! I was looking at getting a private scan at on 6th May (so just over 6 weeks) to check everything is in the right place as my previous ectopic happened around week 5-6. Do you think that’s worth it or should I wait a little longer? Obviously very anxious but trying to keep calm and collected!

bringmearainbow · 20/04/2023 11:09

@Pipiscoming2023 if you can wait until 7 weeks that will leave probably very little question about roughly how far you are and more likely to see a HB. At 6 weeks there's still a chance you might not see one. If you go at 6 weeks just be mentally prepared that it might not be there yet x

Mummy1502 · 20/04/2023 11:17

@bringmearainbow how exciting, let us know how it goes x

Pitstop1986 · 20/04/2023 11:45

@Pipiscoming2023 as others have said, the GP and midwife date you from your last period, then give you a more accurate date from the scan.

My GP dated me at 8+3 today, but I know that I'm 6+5 due to late ovulation. I wish that I was 8+5- this trimester is dragging!

wannabemum38 · 20/04/2023 12:29

@OnNaturesCourse we aren't finding out gender. I know my OH would like too but we are so happy to just be pregnant and hopefully get our rainbow baby we don't care what gender it is as long as its healthy and I'm healthy.

DaisyMay25 · 20/04/2023 14:14

I've been taking bloods all morning and the nausea kept hitting me, not ideal!
I'm off after tomorrow and when I go back I'll be about 6 weeks so I'll register on the system and tell a few people at work. I've told my manager already just incase of worse case again or if my nausea gets too bad

Pitstop1986 · 20/04/2023 14:43

@OnNaturesCourse I'm not finding out either. I like a surprise! Although if it's a boy, he'll be wearing pink until I can get some more gender appropriately coloured clothes!

To those saying about wanting spicy foods- me too! I just want to eat really spicy curries at the minute. That and really strong salt and vinegar crisps, but none seem strong enough! I googled it and apparently the coop ones are the strongest- went and got some this morning and they're strong, but definitely not hitting the spot...

Bacon is also the only thing that's helping my nausea, which is really not good! It can't be healthy to eat several rashers of bacon per day!

Alexis7890 · 20/04/2023 15:00

@Pitstop1986 pringles? Those can be like mouth burning strong!! I think just eat whatever gets you through the day healthy or not

Mummy1502 · 20/04/2023 15:04

@Pitstop1986 your symptoms for food sound exactly the same as mine x

Mummy1502 · 20/04/2023 15:05

@Pitstop1986 will be interesting to see if we have the same gender x

Pitstop1986 · 20/04/2023 17:02

@Mummy1502 I went completely off anything sweet with my daughter. Had no cravings as such, sometimes a fleeting one that would last a couple of days, namely spicy cheetos, bagels with cream cheese, turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwiches and chicken shish kebabs, Everyone said it would be a boy as I couldn't even look at anything sweet- even a digestive biscuit turned my stomach, but nope! I had a girl!

She doesn't have much of a sweet tooth though!

Mummy1502 · 20/04/2023 17:03

@Pitstop1986 its mad how everyone is different x

Just done my self-referral for a midwife at my chosen hospital. Not keen on the hospital I’ve chosen but it really is the best of a bad bunch in my area - not confident.

For those who have, when did you get your first blood test or consultation after self-referral?

HannahLouD · 20/04/2023 17:32

@smldnlove I've got my first midwife appointment on Tuesday! Going by LMP I'd be 8 weeks, but I'll only be more like 7+2/3 by my scan and ovulation. They said they always go by LMP and anything between 7-9 weeks in my area is when they like to do the first appointment... Got my scan through at the same time for 23rd May :)

smldnlove · 20/04/2023 17:57

@HannahLouD Ah so exciting! Interested to hear how your midwife appointment goes! Bet you are counting down the hours till your scan! I’m 5 wks so not sure when I’ll get an appointment but I assumed I would get a blood test to see where my levels are/confirm pregnancy?! Just no idea what happens as it’s my first! 🙈

DaisyMay25 · 20/04/2023 18:13

@smldnlove I don't think they do bloods to confirm pregnancy, usually blood tests are done with your midwife at first appointment, your booking bloods. These check for blood group, full blood count, ferritin and I can't remember what else. I've only heard of blood test to confirm pregnancy for ivf, could be different for your area though?

HannahLouD · 20/04/2023 18:17

@smldnlove yes I can't wait to hopefully get to the 12 week mark... Maybe then I'll finally be able to relax a bit 😅
I've never heard of bloods being taken to confirm hcg levels at a midwife appointment... Certainly wasn't the case for me with my daughter anyway.
This is from the NHS website about the first appointment... "blood tests to check your general health and blood group, and to see if you have HIV, syphilis or hepatitis B" x

taliecarter · 20/04/2023 18:24

Hey ladies, joining the group as my due date is predicted for 22/12! This is my first pregnancy and currently 4w4d...still keep going back and checking the pregnancy test because it feels so surreal!
Has anyone else experienced morning sickness as early as 4 weeks? Woke up this morning and feel like I've been hit by a bus - tired, nauseous in between meals but worsens when I start eating. Other symptoms are heightened sense of smell and sore/veiny boobs. What have your symptoms been like in early pregnancy?

DaisyMay25 · 20/04/2023 18:27

@taliecarter with my little boy I had nausea from early on too and it was awful! I barely ate or drank. Try to eat when you're hungry and not wait for meal times and try to not let your stomach get empty either

I self referred at 5 weeks and got an appointment through the next day.
I am 8 weeks and had the booking a couple of days ago. She asked if I wanted bloods done here now or later. I did it now to get it all done with, not sure if I get my results on the app or my next appointment. 😊
