I haven't seen one of these yet for December so thought I'd start one!

I'm due 1st December with hopefully a little rainbow.
I'm on cyclogest because I had 2 losses in the latter end of last year (October and december) at 6 weeks and 10 weeks.

Fingers crossed for lots of December babies!

@FfoxRedN so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately it's far more common than you think most people just don't know because it's happened before the nhs dating scan

Mummy1502 · 17/04/2023 18:42

I take the original pregnacare x

OnNaturesCourse · 17/04/2023 18:44

Definitely take it! I would too.

I'm still not 100% sure if we are continuing the pregnancy yet so I'm not that keen on a scan just yet.

OnNaturesCourse · 17/04/2023 18:45

@FfoxRedN so sorry to read that news 😭

Hi all,

Just a little kind-of update from me...
I have a scan at the epu tomorrow at 10am as I still have right sided pain and dizziness. I'll be 6+3 if I go by opks and my bbt so pretty sure on dates... I don't really know what to expect. I'm obviously really hoping for a heartbeat but if there's not one, and it's not bad news, just inconclusive, I feel like it's going to drive me mad and make me feel even worse... Do you reckon I'd see a heartbeat at this stage? I'm so nervous now! x

I think you should. With my missed miscarriage they got it at 5+3. My scan this time I should have been 6+4 but they measured me at 5+5 and got it. It looked really clear too

@HannahLouD I had a scan yesterday at 6w1d and there was only a yolk sac, not even a fetal pole but have heard/read it's usually around 6w4d you can start to see something and possibly a heart beat but it's different for everyone. I've got really strong symptoms and high HCG so hoping they're good signs but feeling really nervous for my repeat scan next Monday now.

Hopefully you're able to see something more positive but unless they tell you it's bad news it could still be okay if you don't. Good luck x

KIWI2023 · 17/04/2023 18:58

@HannahLouD you should be able to see if it's an internal scan. We saw both of ours and they measured 6+2 x

Overthebow · 17/04/2023 19:04

@HannahLouD yes you should be able to see it at 6w2d if you have an internal, but not if it’s an external scan.

greyberry · 17/04/2023 19:06

@s14a @KIWI2023 @Overthebow do you think that means I'm likely to be having another loss then if at 6w1d there was only a yolk sac and not even a fetal pole but usually the heartbeats are seen then?

Not necessarily as everyone different and you could have ovulated or implanted later. There is such variation with all of this.

KIWI2023 · 17/04/2023 19:14

I second what @Overthebow said @greyberry they said that when it's so early the measurements are so hard to get and not accurate as 1/4mm is the difference of three days in measurements at this stage. This means they may have measured as 6+1 but you could technically be like 5+4 or less if their measurements weren't 100%. Would also depend if it was internal, if your bladder was empty, when you implanted & also, the specific machine they used as they're not all created equal ❤️

HannahLouD · 17/04/2023 19:20

Thanks girls! I'll keep you updated... So so so nervous. Really not thinking it's going to be good news. Just hope it's not inconclusive. But will be good to hopefully know either way.

I'm assuming it'll be internal as it's so early... Do you need a full bladder for that as well? (Sorry if that's a really stupid question!)

Also scared they'll say I'm less than I am... I know I'm defo be between 6+2 - 6+4 going by my bbt rise and my opks. I also got my bfp at 10dpo from those dates so can't be too off as couldn't really get a bfp much before then!? And I know it doesn't mean much, or anything, but I got 3+ on the weeks indicator at 18dpo, so I'm pretty sure on dates... Oh I'm so nervous. I kinda don't wanna go now. Maybe ignorance is bliss...

It's such a varying spectrum. I remember with my first I didn't get a heartbeat until about 6+5 (first scan at 5+4 couldn't see much) but it depends on the position of the uterus and bowel gas as well.

Also @FfoxRedN I hope you're ok... I'm really sorry to hear that :( got my fingers crossed for you! 🤍🤞✨

@greyberry oh I feel for you... That must be so horrible feeling in limbo. I'm sure all is fine and got my fingers crossed for you as well! 🤞🤍✨

greyberry · 17/04/2023 19:25

@HannahLouD thank you, I hope it goes well. You don't need a full bladder but in my experience (2 internal scans) they usually try an abdominal one first and if they can't see clearly then ask you to empty your bladder and try internal so they might do that? I would maybe go with a full-ish one just in case they want to try both x

greyberry · 17/04/2023 19:28

@Overthebow okay thank you, my cycles are usually like clock work but I did get my OPK slightly later than previous months so hoping that might be the case?

@KIWI2023 it was internal and she scanned me for ages but the doctor the night before did keep complaining about the machine saying it was very old (he couldnt even find the right buttons)!

@s14a okay, thank you. She did say my womb is tilted to the back so not sure if that might make a difference, just feel so stressed with the not knowing.

Thank you, I know you'll not know any more than I do but just keep feeling really anxious, it's going to be a long week x

99SR · 17/04/2023 19:30

@HannahLouD with my MMC last year we seen a heart beat at 5+4 via an internal scan. Hopefully you are able to see something but don’t worry if not as like others have said it can take time! X

Charlielechat · 17/04/2023 19:42

@DaisyMay25 Ah it's nice to hear from someone so close - only a day apart!
I've been taking the Proceive conception multivitamin but I think I'm going to continue with their Trimester 1 version instead of stopping all vitamins completely! Just have a worry that stopping might mess with my hormones.

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2023 19:44

@HannahLouD for internal you need an empty bladder 😊

HannahLouD · 17/04/2023 20:26

Thank you for all the info and support everyone ❤️
I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow either way 🤞✨

Peaceandloves · 17/04/2023 20:26

Does anyone know if it's best to count from first day or last period or ovulation? I don't have 28 day cycles. I have a two day period and then ovulate not long after usually between 4-8 days later. I know when I ovulated as was regularly testing too.

I was wondering this too. I was tracking ovulation too. Going from ovulation I’m only 3 weeks today 🫣 going from first day of last period I’m 5 weeks. Which is what my flo app says.

DaisyMay25 · 17/04/2023 20:42

@Peaceandloves @99SR they go by first day of last period until dating scan. The only way they don't is with fertility treatment.

Rainbowdust557 · 17/04/2023 20:57

I hope it goes well @HannahLouD I saw my daughter's at 6 weeks but I had bad news on another scan when they only saw a yolk sac and fetal pole. She said that's what she should see for 5 weeks but I should have been 8 and had a MMC two weeks later.

So sorry to hear that @FfoxRedN That happened to a friend of mine, very heartbreaking but she has one uber bright child now.

5 weeks today, sense of smell has definitely increased, and my boobs are much more sensitive. Still having the odd stomach cramp abs obsessively checking af hasn’t arrived.

when did everyone book in for antenatal care? I haven’t done anything about it yet but wondering if I should now. I’m so clueless about the whole thing.

I am also 5 weeks today :) Just found out a couple of days ago and still in shock.
