I haven't seen one of these yet for December so thought I'd start one!

I'm due 1st December with hopefully a little rainbow.
I'm on cyclogest because I had 2 losses in the latter end of last year (October and december) at 6 weeks and 10 weeks.

Fingers crossed for lots of December babies!

@HannahLouD I think dry mouth is , often reaching out to water through the night or first thing in the morning. To be fair, by association, dry lips could be one too! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Peaceandloves · 14/04/2023 19:51

I'm really sorry @WhiteHorse92. Thinking of you x

Aprilsunnyday · 14/04/2023 20:28

@WhiteHorse92 really sorry you have gone through a mc.... Its awful and very difficult to digest, we know.
Take care of yourself and fingers crossed next pregnancy will take a full course for you. xx

wannabemum38 · 14/04/2023 20:32

@WhiteHorse92 Really sorry if this is the case. I've been there too as many of us it seems have. Hope you get some answers Monday and give yourself time to grieve if it'd worse case. Thinking of you.

Re: when to tell work.

My work asks for 15 weeks notice, so I hadn’t planned to say anything to anyone until 25 weeks, unless it becomes really visible.

However, my boss is heading off on her own maternity leave at the start of June and I’m stepping up into her Director role as her mat cover. One of the managers that currently reports into me also starts her mat leave that month.

I’m torn between telling them both as they go off on leave so they’ll know I might not be there when they come back. Or sticking with my original plan not to tell anyone at work until I have to so I can take up the Director role with no outside assumptions on my ability to do it as a pregnant person.

What would you do? Tell at 12 weeks or wait it out to 25?

Wait til 25 weeks, don't tell anybody before that. It's not worth the risk. You should take up the Director role and let them know in September or whenever the 25 week mark is for you.
By that time you'll have 2 months of doing the role under your belt to show that you can do the job.

@WhiteHorse92 so sorry you're going through this.

Hello, hope it's okay to join & congratulations to everyone!

I'm 5w6d, EDD is 12th December. I got a 3+ on a CBD the other day so decided it was time to book in with the midwives, I had a loss at 6w6d in November and a loss at 4w2d at the start of March so been feeling really anxious about jinxing things. I haven't got my first midwife appt till the start of May and my first NHS scan isn't until June!

If all goes well the next few days Im going to book a private scan for the 23rd when I'll be about 7 weeks. We've been trying for DC2 since end of 2021 and Im just feeling really anxious about the whole thing - pregnancy after loss is so hard. I have been taking aspirin daily after the EPU midwives said it can't do any harm and have been told to phone them up at the first sign of bleeding to start progesterone pessaries if needed although that's not helping my absolute fear.

Is anyone else feeling horrendous already? I have the worst nausea I've ever experienced on and off through the day, absolutely exhausted to the point I feel dizzy and keep seeing black spots and just feel so run down and aching all over. I don't remember feeling this bad so early on with my daughter although I also didn't feel like this when I had my loss in November so hoping it's a good sign this time 🤞

I also keep testing, I just can't stop myself but I know I really need to. I'm back at work next week after being off the easter hols (I'm a teacher) but will be telling my boss I think, partly because I'm not sure how I'll get through a day with this tiredness 🤣 but also because there's a lot of physical violence in my school and also she was very supportive with my previous losses so would just like her to know.

Hope everyone else is getting on okay, and sorry to hear of others having previous losses ♥️

greyberry · 14/04/2023 21:36

@WhiteHorse92 so sorry to hear about your loss, sending lots of love xxx

greyberry · 14/04/2023 21:37

Also meant to add: I'm very worried about how long I'll be able to keep it hidden! Aside from the fact everyone who has seen me recently has commented on how awful/exhausted I look I also feel really bloated to the point I am already only able to fit in my maternity leggings! Anyone else?

Smileyface32 · 14/04/2023 21:50

@greyberry Can I ask what the aspirin is for? I was given it for my last pregnancy but was told to take it from 12 weeks. I think I remember the midwife saying eventually everyone will be taking it. I’m also in the similar position as you working in a school where I could get hurt by some children but I really want to hold out until a scan. The first week back I’ll have to be so careful.

@WhiteHorse92 so sorry about your loss..sending you lots of hugs.x

greyberry · 14/04/2023 21:54

@Smileyface32 i'm not really sure to be honest, I had just read a lot of women took it after recurrent losses and so I phoned the EPU to ask if it was worth trying. She did an assessment with me and said as long as it's low dose then it wouldn't do any harm and was worth trying so I've been using it to see. I'm sure I read it's usually for women who have some sort of condition that means their body can try reject the pregnancy or at risk of pre-eclampsia as well as it's meant to help blood flow to the placenta or something too! I only take a couple a week but just desperate for a sticky baby so willing to try anything x

wannabemum38 · 14/04/2023 23:51

@greyberry I'm also 5+6 but my EDD is 9th December. I have suffered 2 MC at 7 weeks and I CP so am super anxious. I was also told by my Fertility gynaecologist that any sign of spotting I'm entitled to cycogest pessaries to help. Not heard about the aspirin though, thought it was a no no for pregnant women or is that just in 3rd trimester?
I'm debating on a private scan aswell as no idea when my first scan will be not heard from midwife yet but only submitted self referral on Monday.
My boobs have been painful all week and been feeling nauseous last couple of days but in evening. Had a few weird twinges tonight in my left side not painful like a weird pulling sensation hope that's all normal.

BBBakedBean · 15/04/2023 07:46

How is everyone doing with hydration ? I feel I’ve not been drinking enough water this week. Might be tmi but pee always seems so dark no matter what I try. I just read an article about the potential problems of not drinking enough and I’m freaking out. I’m 7 weeks !

Mummy1502 · 15/04/2023 08:17

@WhiteHorse92 so sorry x

HannahLouD · 15/04/2023 08:45

Hi girls,

I hope everyone's good this morning! I think I'm going to have to come off Mumsnet for a bit... I'm 6 weeks today and my symptoms have been getting gradually less over the past few days and this morning they've basically gone. Was hoping to wake up at 6 weeks on the dot feeling like poo, but it's the complete opposite... Even my nipples (which have been sore and hard since 4 weeks) are ok.
I've had a bad feeling about this from the start and I just know this pregnancy isn't going to continue. I've got a private scan booked for next weekend as that's the earliest I could get, but I'm not holding out hope.
I was going to do another weeks indictor today but I've read on the instructions that if you test after 6 weeks it can give "unexpected results" so wouldn't help me either way.
Just a waiting game now I guess... But reading about everyone having so many symptoms and me having basically none doesn't seem like a good sign at all. I had a chemical the cycle before this and I knew something wasn't right and I have that same feeling again.

Lots of luck and love and sticky baby dust to everyone! 🤍✨
I'll update if anything happens between now and next weekend, and if not, I'll update after the scan - good or bad news... x

KIWI2023 · 15/04/2023 08:46

Oh @HannahLouD I'm sorry you're in this position ❤️ thinking of you and here if we can do anything. Will have everything crossed for you❤️

Mummy1502 · 15/04/2023 08:46

@HannahLouD i really hope all is good news, remember it’s normal for symptoms to fluctuate in early pregnancy x

Peaceandloves · 15/04/2023 08:48

@HannahLouD I know it's really stressful but try not to panic. You need to just trust that you are pregnant. My symptoms have all completely settled and I feel normal. With my first pregnancy I had virtually no symptoms until 13 weeks after which time I suffered with EVERYTHING. And I mean everything. I had carpal tunnel, PUPPPs, swelling and even Bell's palsy. Please just trust your body and let the days just tick by. I am sure you will have a beautiful scan next week and a really hope you do. If coming of Mumsnet helps then defs do that :) xxx

Lottie3665 · 15/04/2023 08:58

@HannahLouD if it helps I have woken up this morning feeling amazing with all my symptoms (sore nipples, thirst, nausea, funny taste in my mouth etc) gone. I feel great! But also terrified about what's happened. I appreciate you're in a slightly different boat but just to say I think the thing about everyone's symptoms being different and them fluctuating everyday really is true.
I hope you're doing ok and things work out 💛

99SR · 15/04/2023 09:03

@HannahLouD hope everything is ok. Let us know how you get on.
like you, I also find coming off social media helps when I’m feeling particularly anxious or down. Sometimes it’s not helpful to your mental state to be reading things.
try have a busy weekend that can take your mind off things x

greyberry · 15/04/2023 09:39

@wannabemum38 yes, when I first put my dates in a calculator it said 12/12 and I did it again last night and it now says 9/12 so definitely the same! I haven't heard of cycogest but at least they have offered to help as well, it still makes me terrified of any blood whenever I go to the toilet though. I've been having a lot of discharge recently causing a 'wet' feeling and keep panicking myself. Aspirin is prescribed in pregnancy for something to do with phospholipids and pre-eclampsia but when I was reading up on it before asking the midwife I found a few studies saying that those taking low dose aspirin had a higher rate of live births and it reduced lower birth weights. I also am in a pregnancy after loss facebook group and a lot of the women have been put on it as well so that's where I heard about it and did some research. It might be unsafe later in pregnancy but I'm not sure, I just know it's okay to take and made sure I spoke to the hospital first because I couldn't live with myself if I just started it on my own and then something went wrong!
I had some twinges in my left side/hip yesterday as well, it was quite uncomfortable at some points but not had it come back since yesterday afternoon so will see. I just keep having horrible nausea on and off!
Congratulations x

Mummy1502 · 15/04/2023 09:53

My line progression, 4weeks today x

Due December 2023
GingerJanee · 15/04/2023 10:02

Hi all, currently I’m a very tentative 5w3d or 5w2d depending on the app I look at! EDD is 14th - 16th December and already I’ve the fear of going over for a Christmas baby 😂

I’ve little to no symptoms besides increased tiredness, dry mouth and the back and stomach cramping but I generally feel quite well. My noise is definitely getting stronger and my poor dogs have been booked into the groomers today because the smell of them is too strong to cope with!

I’m on honeymoon next week which is great for hiding things from people and I’ll be 7 weeks when I get back. Just wondering when is the best time for an early scan? I’d like to reassure myself around 8 weeks but I’m afraid there’ll be little to nothing which can be seen on the screen. Has anybody had one around this time before? Also, is the general anxiety and fear totally normal I’m nearly afraid to look ahead at the next couple of weeks incase anything happens.

Always thought I’d be jumping up and down with excitement and internally I am but I am worrying so much more than I expected!

Misspotterscat · 15/04/2023 10:43

I’m 4+5 today and all symptoms I had seem to have gone so I’m panicking. This is so stressful, I too thought I’d just be so excited but instead it’s just worry.

Peaceandloves · 15/04/2023 10:47

Congratulations @GingerJanee - in same due date as you :)

mks1110 · 15/04/2023 10:59

I'm 4 weeks and 4 days today. My BBT has been dipping for the last two/ three days and now it's just about over the baseline - just about!
I'm properly freaking out now.. anyone experienced this and things were okay? Or is this not looking good?
