@Daisy155 fingers crossed baby doesn't need extra support, I'm sure you'll be amazing and full of love whatever the future may hold.

@ThirtyEight38 what a funny question, I'd have to answer it by saying "no, planned" and watch their faces trying to work it out.

I keep getting asked if it was planned. I'm 33 and married. I know I've never been baby mad, but by this age I've worked contraception out haha.

RMS0209 · 15/03/2023 21:01

@Daisy155 thinking of you lots from reading this, please let us know the results

We are all here if you need an ear x

Hibbs126 · 15/03/2023 22:22

@Daisy155 I hope that your baby doesn't need any extra support but I think it is really important to trust your instincts. I had the screening tests but knew that if it came back as high risk for Downs I would continue with the pregnancy but would want to be prepared. It sounds like whatever the outcome they are coming into a loving environment with you x

Daisy0909 · 16/03/2023 09:35

@Daisy155 I'm glad you've managed to remain calm as I imagine getting a call & been told you have to go in is quite daunting! I'm sure your gut instinct is probably right but regardless this baby will be loved whatever the outcome x

Hello,

I hope it's okay to join (I think I might already have joined the previous one 😅) - I am 14.2 weeks pregnant and we went through IVF in December and we're grateful to have a positive result in Jan!

We tried for a couple of years after our first and after one MC, we decided on IVF a year later. We had our 12 week scan two weeks ago and all was well, however my PAPP-A was low and alongside my age, it came back as high risk. Currently waiting on the NIPT tests and staying positive.

Would be lovely to join a community of people going through the same pregnancy journey - our little one is expected mid September and we're hoping everything goes well.

Daisy0909 · 21/03/2023 09:51

Good morning!

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing?

Sickness still very on/off for me at 13 weeks but I have my scan on Friday to look forward to and is getting me through it, can't wait to see how much baby has grown in the last 3 weeks! x

ShellNor · 21/03/2023 11:34

@Daisy0909 hope your scan this week goes well!

We had our obstetrics appointment. Despite 3x risk factors they are happy enough to go back to midwife led care which is great. Got to hear the heart beat last week which was fun. No appointments for another month until the 20 week scan now. Seems like such a long time to wait.

Had to deal with the struggle of finding some maternity clothes as none of my pants fit anymore, even using some of the tricks to extend how long they work.
The problem with being tall is you never know if pants are going to be long enough buying them online, and everywhere i looked wanted you to buy from the online store with nothing available online!

Daisy0909 · 21/03/2023 13:12

@ShellNor That's fab news, I'm glad everything went well!

Haha, I've been living in leggings but I am going to have to bite the bullet soon & order some maternity jeans I think - And I have the same issue as you being 5ft 11 - I think there's a niche in the market for a tall-maternity section 😅

Superunknown1 · 21/03/2023 14:05

Scan on Friday, I will be 13+6. Nothing like the last minute 😅 Will finally be telling people after we’ve had the scan. Can’t wait!

Daisy155 · 21/03/2023 21:01

Thank you everyone sorry late response, the baby is completely fine they did three tests including Down syndrome and the baby doesn’t have down syndrome I had the update today! As I was only concerned for the baby’s heart during pregnancy but all is ok and they were very quick with the results took less than 10 working days.

@Daisy0909 that’s exciting 13 weeks scan and good luck for Friday and it’s not far away keep us updated!! 🥰

@ShellNor thats absolutely amazing news 💕and happy to hear you heard the baby’s heart as well! And in regards to maternity clothes tell me about it! I am just now in leggings and when I am pregnant I love wearing loose dresses and tops so I went to get myself a few things last week. My belly and boobs just growing and I bought some new bras today!

I just can’t wait for summer days so I can wear dresses every single day!

@Superunknown1 good luck on Friday have an amazing day so exciting 🥰

@Daisy155 So glad to hear baby is fit & well and you can get back to enjoying your pregnancy without anxiety!

Thank you, it's really not far at all but it feels like this week is dragging!

I agree re summer, I can't wait to be able to wear loose dresses - We've booked a little baby moon for the end of April, a bit early but we've had to work around other commitments. I'm actually glad it's turned out that way as I wont be that uncomfortable at 18 weeks

Maraudingmarauders · 22/03/2023 20:24

Wonderful news @Daisy0909
I've got two maternity dresses - looking forward to wearing them in Spain next week!
Definitely starting to show in my work clothes now.

Hibbs126 · 23/03/2023 03:50

@Daisy155 Glad you've had good news and everything is looking OK.

I found Next long maternity jeans ok for my last pregnancy and managed to get a few pairs of trousers from them pretty cheaply in their online sale. I have been struggling to fit in my usual clothes and felt huge but then the past 2 days bloating has gone down so now ok in my usual work clothes and feel I can hide the bump a little longer!

Superunknown1 · 23/03/2023 13:26

Anyone still having the weird super-vivid dreams? I had a week of them in first trimester, all super-realistic and horribly ‘real’ scenarios (such as being late for work and other mundane but stressful stuff) - had my first one in ages last night where I had my scan (I have my scan tomorrow) and was at the scan when they told me I would have to take part in ‘The Shearing’, where after the scan they cut your hair?? While you’re still lying down on the bed. Cue waking up in a panic because a sonographer had given me a horrible bowl cut and lopped the sides of my hair off entirely!

Anyone else still having these weird dreams, or can anyone confirm The Shearing is not a thing 🤣

MinBins · 23/03/2023 14:21

I have v weird dreams - random ones too. But one thing that's started happening is I wake up at approx 4am every day and always around the same time. 😴🥱

Daisy155 · 24/03/2023 08:41

@Superunknown1 @Daisy0909 good luck with your scans today 🥰 excited for you both!

yes @Superunknown1 I have the most vivid dreams every day it’s exhausting 😂, yesterday I was watching a movie and there was a lot of smoking.

Anyway in my dream I decided to buy the baby a bicycle and it was a girls bike and then on my way to catching a bus which looked more like a coach, I saw people matching and one of the people offered me a cigarette and I smoked it!

Mind you I don’t even smoke, I then remembered I was pregnant and started panicking. I could smell my hands and taste the cigarette smoke in my mouth it felt so real. 🤣

I was so upset 😭 with myself in my dream I kept saying why would you do that especially start smoking now? All the way to the bus, I was literally crying and didn’t even want to get on the bus anymore I had to literally force myself to wake up, so the dream would stop!

Superunknown1 · 25/03/2023 07:21

@Daisy155 That dream sounds so vivid and horrible when it’s so out of character! I’d be in bits 😭

Handholds would be amazingly appreciated today, I had my scan today (came out 0.9mm too big for the Patau/Edwards test, was on my way with my mom to tell my grandparents as we FINALLY told some close friends about our pregnancy, just as I got to my grandma’s I thought I’d peed myself (tmi sorry) and had gushed bright red blood. Was at a&e 5:30-1am, had bloods and urine test done but left as there were too many in front of me, and they couldn’t have done much. Going back today to get scanned hopefully, I only had a scan yesterday at 2:30! Absolutely bricking it. Lucky my partner is ace and very good in a crisis as I was trying to be calm but it was very hard to! Wish me luck today. Hope baby stops scaring us like this!

Daisy0909 · 25/03/2023 19:59

@Superunknown1 oh gosh I'm so sorry to read this you must be worrying like crazy. Sending love and hope today has gone a bit better than yesterday xx

Hibbs126 · 25/03/2023 20:07

@Superunknown1 That must have been so worrying and scary for you. I really hope your scan today went well and everything is OK x

Superunknown1 · 25/03/2023 23:03

@Daisy0909 @Hibbs126 Thank you for the well wishes! Was so scary. Thankfully good news, wasn’t able to have a scan as they don’t do them on weekends but they checked my cervix and everything looked okay and only bleeding old blood now. Loves back, I appreciated seeing these messages earlier while in the waiting room! Turns out it’s just a thing that happens sometimes?! Can’t cope with that kind of stress again. 🤣 xx

Hibbs126 · 26/03/2023 07:15

@Superunknown1 so glad it was good news! Hope baby doesn't give you any more scares and you can enjoy telling people now!

Daisy0909 · 28/03/2023 12:14

Good afternoon ladies, how are we all feeling - Has anyone got that promising 2nd trimester feeling?

14+2 and I still feel really nauseous on the odd day, I'm praying it's going to disappear in the very near future!

RMS0209 · 28/03/2023 15:21

Hi all!
@Daisy0909 yesterday I felt terrible... today I feel awesome! 15 +2 :) comes and goes but i'll take some good feelings.

How is everybody doing? x

MinBins · 29/03/2023 12:13

I feel a little in limbo waiting for my 20 week scan and waiting to feel some kicks movement for ongoing reassurance - I'm an over-worrier for sure, but aside from being hungry all the time I'm feeling good, too!

I caved in and booked in a private scan for this week as I couldn't wait 🙈

RMS0209 · 29/03/2023 14:15

@MinBins I'm thinking of caving and booking a scan for next week so don't worry you aren't the only crazy one ha ha.
