Thanks for creating a new one @Soda123x

I also had bad restless leg syndrome and insomnia last night, but it was a vast improvement on the night before when I was up all night being sick. I’m 8+4 with #1 and really hoping the nighttime sickness was a one off.

Soda123x · 01/03/2023 03:22

@Saturnsmoon aww bless you.
Touch wood I didn't have any sickness at all with #1 so I'm hoping this pregnancy is the same 🤞
Although I have been reading in thread 2 alot of symptoms for the others started from about week 6 where I am now. So 🤞 it stays at bay as I don't deal with sickness very well 🙈 xx

Thanks for the new thread @Soda123x

Just woke up five minutes ago with bad back pain and the stretching feeling. I have terrible back pain anyway so nothing new there but it feels harder to distinguish what's normal for me and what's extra. I'm 6+4 today. Hoping to god i don't get bad sickness either. I'd imagine it's very draining.

@Saturnsmoon have you tried magnesium tablets or spray for the restless legs? Not sure about safety in pg. I used to have it bad and would take magnesium bisglycinate at bedtime and rub the better you mag spray into my legs

CB23CB · 01/03/2023 05:24

Hey 5am club!

NSx · 01/03/2023 06:31

@Soda123x thanks for the new thread 💕

@hankthehonk where in Scotland are you having your scan? I’m in Glasgow 💙

PrimarilyParented · 01/03/2023 06:31

Good morning everyone. I also woke at 5am (and several other times in the night) as my sleep is really disturbed and I often find it difficult to go back to sleep. Also, nausea often hits in the night when I wake up (seems to be linked to lying down rather than time of day as I had it after a nap too). I’m really hoping I can avoid full on sickness though as otherwise I will have to tell my boss at work sooner rather than later as I don’t want her thinking I’m just skiving work.

NSx · 01/03/2023 06:32

Also —— why can’t I sleep past 6.20? Normally it’s 5am, but lately it’s 6.20am on the button 😂😂😂😂

katherine123x · 01/03/2023 06:39

Oh ladies.... we are all in the same boat! The tiredness is just next level isn't it!! I don't even have another little one to look after. Don't know how you are doing it!! I'm going to a friends tonight, absolutely no idea how I'm going to stay awake!

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 01/03/2023 06:51

@PrimarilyParented my nausea is shocking on a night too, especially when I first go up to bed and I'm laying down- I was actually sick for the first time on Sunday evening after coming to bed🤢

EMcG3 · 01/03/2023 06:53

@LR94 - Emily Oster writes extensively on what food to avoid, why, and the risks, if you want a risk-based analysis. Her book covering it is called Expecting Better. After reading it I decided to skip fish with heavy metals, alcohol of any sort, and eating in places that feel like they might give me food poisoning. I just cannot get excited about risks associated with anything else, and have such bad food aversions that further restrictions are deeply unhelpful to the goal of keeping fed. But, take a look and you might land differently on various food risks.

Jumping back on. Thanks for starting the new thread! Exactly 6 weeks today and spent most of last night wide awake, SOOOOO TIRED!

Hopefulx · 01/03/2023 07:16

Hey everyone, thanks for the new thread @Soda123x

I am also so tired, currently laying in bed but should have got up 20 minutes ago! I’m 7 weeks tomorrow and have an early scan on Friday which I am so nervous about!

katherine123x · 01/03/2023 07:17

@Hopefulx we are the same dates - looking forward to hearing about your scan!!

Chanteuse · 01/03/2023 07:20

I went to bed at 9pm last night and I get up at 7am for work (very lucky as my commute is super short!) and although it was broken by waking up thirsty/needing a wee/back pain, I thought I wouldn’t be so tired today. Well I was wrong 😅 apparently this subsides a bit once the placenta takes over! 🤞🏼

Needtobuildabridge · 01/03/2023 07:31

Place marking 😊

FirstTimeMamaB · 01/03/2023 07:41

Hi lovely October mamas 💕

Hoping you will let me join, very anxious first time mama here! Currently 6w 6d (due October 19th according to my app) with our first baby after just over a year TTC.

Fairly smooth ride so far with sore boobs, exhaustion and a few cramps and headaches as my symptoms.

We have an early scan booked for next week when we should be 8w 2d. Desperately trying to keep busy until then (coming from possibly the most anxious, impatient woman there is!).

I've loved reading all your stories on here and it's brought me so much comfort to read about all of your experiences so far, excited to join this group for advice and of course catch ups!

Thanks mamas can't wait to get to know you all!! ✨

VictoriaBlossom · 01/03/2023 07:49

Mine is waking up at 6:58 on the button. I don't normally get up til 8, working from home life at it's best. But can't just lay in bed, have to get up!
Anyone else's dogs turning into clingy loons? My little doggo won't leave my side at the mo and keeps sniffing my boobs 😂

LWestYorks · 01/03/2023 07:57

Place marking 😊 still suffering with the vivid awful dreams. Hope they stop soon!

NSx · 01/03/2023 07:58

@VictoriaBlossom i don’t have dogs I have cats and my female cat keeps sitting on me 😂😂😂 like everytime I’m sitting in bed/lying she lies on top of me 😂😂😂😂😂

katherine123x · 01/03/2023 08:28

@FirstTimeMamaB welcome!!
You are the same dates as me and this is my first too. Your symptoms are the same as mine too so big old snap 😂 congratulations 💕

LaVitesse2022 · 01/03/2023 08:30

@VictoriaBlossom omg yes on the heightened sense of smell! I can't stand laundry conditioner now, all my clothes and blankets smell too sweet, it nauseates me 🥴 I started using the old method of white vinegar to keep clothes soft.

VictoriaBlossom · 01/03/2023 08:33

@LaVitesse2022 does that actually work? And doesn't leave your clothes smelling links vinegar?

AlongcameLainey · 01/03/2023 08:34

Place marking ☺️

Exactly 6 weeks today. Nausea has ramped up over the last week with mornings being the worst and starting to perk up after lunch.

Midwife called yesterday and booked me in for a telephone booking appointment on Tuesday and then I have my next early scan on Wednesday

Hopefulx · 01/03/2023 08:42

@katherine123x aw so nice we are the same dates! Have you got any more scans, did you have one last week?
