Is anyone else the size of an actual house?

I'm normally a size 8/10 and I've put on almost 10 pounds. My stomach is massive, and I look about 5 months pregnant already. 11 weeks today 🙈
My mum said that she showed really early in her pregnancies!

I'm the same. I've not really fit in my clothes since 8 weeks!!! 11+1 and I've had to buy bigger leggings etc because I can't do my trousers up !!

Chanteuse · 17/03/2023 16:18

@Happyhappy39soon40 so sorry to hear this ☹️💐
@NSx I’m also struggling with acid reflux! It’s calmed down since I’ve been prescribed omeprazole but I’m trying not to take it all the time because of the (small) risks!

I’m really struggling with the weight gain. I think because I’m already bigger I’m worried that midwives etc are going to judge me, I’ve put on about 6lb. It’s getting me down! ☹️

Just checked and I've lost 6lb in a week!

LaVitesse2022 · 17/03/2023 18:48

For the people who already had booking appointments: did you have your blood tests then or were they scheduled for another day?

I have my appt on Sunday when I'll be bang on 10 weeks so that's at the limit of when you should have the first blood tests I think. Hope they do them then.

6strings1song · 17/03/2023 18:57

@LaVitesse2022 I had my booking in appointment at 9 weeks and the midwife failed to bleed me.🙄No veins apparently. She told me to come back to the blood clinic before 10 weeks, but no appointments were available! I asked the reason for the 10 week limit and she explained that they advise before 10 weeks, but it is just so they can intervene as early as possible if something crops up e.g. anemic, positive for any of the viruses, rhesus negative, sickle cell etc. I felt more reassured after she explained why, as I knew I was most likely low risk for any of the conditions (apart from anemia or something unexpected).

As it happened I managed to get a cancellation slot at 9 weeks 6 days. The phlebotomist bled me in one go with no fuss!

@Happyhappy39soon40 So sorry to hear this and that the whole process has been so drawn out for you. What a nightmare. Sending hugs x

Has anyone else received 2 different mat exemption form numbers? I got one by post and one by email-- I filled one out at the GP and think the other one must have been filed online by the midwife. I'm guessing both will be valid?

PeopleAreToads · 17/03/2023 22:46

@LaVitesse2022 I had my booking in appointment this week and they did the bloods there and then. But the midwife did say I might have to go elsewhere if she couldn't get the vein, so probably worth making sure you're hydrated to give them the best chance
