Good morning everyone
I have my private scan today! Im soo nervous, my nausea and sore boobs basically disappeared yesterday. I think im 7+3 so got everything crossed for some good news!

Good luck

NSx · 18/02/2023 10:07

@Hankthehonk I promised myself now I won’t test for a while, I have 2 frer left and 1 digital ….
I’m hoping for a dye stealer, what dpo do people normally get those do you know? I will maybe wait and test on Wednesday & see how I get on then use my last one a bit later 😂🤞🤞 so stressful isn’t it 😅😅😅

@Happyhappy39soon40 im loaded with the cold so been having really awful nights and my sleeping is horrendous, feel like I keep waking up to pee and then can’t sleep ☹️

blebbleb · 18/02/2023 10:19

@NSx I'm 4 weeks and 6 days and only got a strong positive on Thursday. I was testing a lot but I'll stop now.

Does anyone who's on their second baby not really have sore boobs? Last time I'm sure they were killing me, but this time nothing at all... Is it because it's not my first do you think?

Exactly the same here. I was still breastfeeding a bit when I fell pregnant, was wondering if that was why. I've stopped nursing now but they're still not sore at all, last time that was my biggest symptom. Nausea kicked in 2 days ago, I'm currently 6+2

NSx · 18/02/2023 10:29

@blebbleb so u got your dye stealer at 4+6, I’m 4+2, so I’ll probably wait until maybe Wed to retest 💕🤞✨

Itsokaymama · 18/02/2023 10:32

@Jigglemonster thank you so much :-)
@Needtobuildabridge good luck! Keep us updated! Such an exciting but nervous time

BeaKind · 18/02/2023 10:39

Very tentatively joining. I got my undeniable bfps today 😊 although doesn’t feel real as I don’t really have any symptoms…yet!

Have read a bit of this thread and seems a lot of us are second mums and our first being born in covid.

My DS was born Jan 21. Emergency semi-gentle c-section (was in my birth plan if it ended up going that way) and horrible, very lonely stay in for 4 days with no visits from hubby. Pretty sure we both have ptsd from that but only something I feel you ladies here will understand.

I would love a VBAC but also not against another gentle caesarean. Just don’t like the thought of having my scar cut back into 😬 I really must arrange a birth reflection with my hospital!

Our due date would be 29th October. Keeping everything crossed all goes well. 🥰

amybooth · 18/02/2023 10:51

@NSx I had a dye stealer with frer at 4+1 with evening urine but everyone is different so it's difficult to say. Hope this helps though

katherine123x · 18/02/2023 11:03

Please share your early scan stories once you've been!! I'm trying my best to hold off booking one!

I am loaded with cold as well. I started having blocked /stuffy nose 2 - 3 days prior to initial af due date. I cannot tell you the last time I've had a cold. I rarely get sick.

The peeing is not too bad atm. It's manageable. I have been very gassy though 🙈

NSx · 18/02/2023 11:28

@amybooth ive never tried afternoon urine only ever fmu 😬 I’ll wait a few days then see 🤞🤞

Klex · 18/02/2023 11:32

We're planning a Star Wars day reveal to the grandparents as this will be the 4th grandchild for both (May the 4th be with you, geddit? 🤣)

Lmao that's hilarious.

amybooth · 18/02/2023 11:37

@NSx I found my fmu was a lot lighter than later in the day and it was causing me so much anxiety so I started testing later on and my lines were stronger xx

NSx · 18/02/2023 11:50

@amybooth i did find that quite a bit with LH strips so I’ll maybe try afternoon through the week and hope for that dye stealer 🤞✨

DancingNancies · 18/02/2023 12:11

Am I the only one who enjoyed the lack of visitors in hospital with a covid baby? 🙈

My first was born early hours so I was exhausted and had to drag myself for a shower before the vistors arrived (first lot announced they were 15 mins away with no prior warning) and was glad when they left so I could take my game face off.

With my 2nd, I relished the quiet time in hospital alone - had to stay overnight so had almost 2 full days of just me and DC before I had to face the world - it was bliss or maybe I'm just grumpy 😂

MeganC104 · 18/02/2023 12:17

@BeaKind our stories are very similar I think. Jan21 with my son. I attended a reflections appointment followed by 2 therapy sessions as I really struggled with the experience. Just want something more positive this time.

@NSx do you know what we can take for a cold? Everything I read says try not to take anything in first trimester. I feel awful!

NSx · 18/02/2023 12:48

@MeganC104 just paracetamol 😅 I don’t take 2 tho I’ve just been taking one here or there - I too feel awful 😬🤒🤒🤒🤒

Alexandra07 · 18/02/2023 12:50

@Jigglemonster I found this nipt comparison table useful:
northsurreymidwives.co.uk/what-we-do/antenatal-screening/harmony/

I haven't used their service and I'll probably go somewhere else for the test. Panorama is the only nipt that distinguishes the twins and gives info for both. I was thinking to do the scan that is included in most nipt tests anyway, and to go for the prenatal safe test if there is one baby or the panorama if there are twins.

@katherine123x I had an early scan at 6 weeks on the dot, we got to see babies heartbeat and it was measuring exactly on track. Have another one next week when I’ll be 8 weeks!

Hankthehonk · 18/02/2023 13:12

@DancingNancies thank you so much for saying this glad it's not just me! Obviously almost everything about covid and lockdown was terrible, but I loved not having to deal with visitors. We actually kept even our families away for 2 weeks because covid was still so rife at the time and we thought it would be safer for everyone. The thought of anyone else being around during that time makes me sad and uncomfortable, I think I'll have to say we don't want hospital visitors and keep it to just our parents and siblings in the first week or so. That's what I absolutely know I want I just hope it doesn't upset anyone.
(I know everyone is different on this topic so not judging at all here this is just the way I feel and I think I might be a minority!)

Kate33ttc · 18/02/2023 09:25

Hi. I'm 3 weeks 5 days. I feel the same as you about not wanting to tell my partner, at least six weeks but maybe 12 if I can keep it in. I've had few early losses too. Its hard to feel happy and excited with that history, and when I got my positive this time I just felt almost numb. The only person who knows is my mother and my doctor. Fingers crossed 🤞 everything will be fine for us x

@Kate33ttc just curious why you don’t want to tell your husband for so long?

Jealousofchiliheeler · 18/02/2023 13:35

Dear lord, if DH doesn't produce lunch in the next five minutes (which he said would be ready an hour ago) I think I will simultaneously faint, throw up and eat the entire contents of the fridge....

Jealousofchiliheeler · 18/02/2023 13:37

Would extreme hunger in pregnancy count as a valid excuse for temporary insanity in a murder case? Right now I feel like it would.

Skyharbor · 18/02/2023 13:42

I did too! My daughter was born just as the final lockdown lifted but covid restrictions were still in place at the hospital. We had to stay in for 3 days for antibiotics and my husband could visit but nobody else. I was so happy to just enjoy the baby snuggles and not have to get myself up and sorted for the in laws! We had endless visitors when we got home, limited them to one lot per day but I still found it overwhelming after a tough birth. I'll definitely be a bit stricter this time I think!
