I'm nauseous all the time but also can go from feeling fine to so hungry that my stomach is growling in minutes, then I'm getting full less than halfway through the meal

Beemug · 27/02/2023 20:08

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway this is literally me!

Bee1994 · 27/02/2023 21:05

Today is the first day in almost 2 weeks that I’ve felt close to normal! I’ve actually felt hungry today, think I’ve got into the habit of eating little and often and it’s working. Still don’t want anything sweet at all but even managed a sausage sandwich this evening so much better than I have been.

early scan on Thursday when I should be 7+2 so feeling very nervous

EMcG3 · 27/02/2023 21:11

@LWestYorks - yes, for real they can come and go in weird ways. I had awful nausea and insane food aversions in my last pregnancy and whenever I had a day or two of rest (no work, limited parenting) they were more or less gone. For better or worse, your symptoms will aggressively make a comeback.

EMcG3 · 27/02/2023 21:17

@Alexandra07 - there was an awesome thread by a midwife who specialises in plus-sized pregnancy care that was really informative and worth checking out. As everywhere, some of the commentators were ass-hats but the midwife was excellent: passionate, knowledgeable, evidence based.

Here is the thread: www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/4624821-im-a-plus-size-pregnancy-specialist-midwife-ask-me-anything

EMcG3 · 27/02/2023 21:21

I should also add that it's generally worth a read for anyone curious about how the NHS works / makes guidelines or rules / thinks about risk in pregnancy. I am not its target audience and still got a lot out of it.

Alexandra07 · 27/02/2023 21:59

@EMcG3 thanks for sharing the link! I started reading the posts. It's very interesting and I feel better equipped to have a discussion with a midwife/Dr and ask for evidence of what they suggest.

Saturnsmoon · 28/02/2023 02:25

For those of you that ended up in hospital due to sickness / dehydration, how long were you being sick for before going in and what was the deciding factor? I’ve been up vomiting for the past seven hours. Haven’t really managed to retain much in the way of fluids or food and starting to worry about dehydration as I’m throwing up much more than I’m taking in.

katherine123x · 28/02/2023 06:28

Those who have 12 weeks scans from nhs. When do you get told when they are??

Midnight00 · 28/02/2023 06:45

@katherine123x I received my appointment letters when I was about 7w, about three weeks after self-referral.

My booking appointment isn't till 10w and 12 scan will be when I'm 13w. Does sound like services are busy!

katherine123x · 28/02/2023 06:49

@Midnight00 ah that's good. Yeah I see a lot of people saying that. I think it depends where you are. My booking appt is exactly 8 weeks!

Alexandra07 · 28/02/2023 06:56

@katherine123x I received both my midwife and scan appointments together, same week i self referred, when I was 4 weeks.

Hopefulx · 28/02/2023 07:33

@katherine123x I received both midwife and 12 week scan appointments about a week after self referring. My midwife appointment is when I’ll be 9 weeks and my 12 week scan is bang on when I’ll be 12 weeks.

Are you still waiting for yours? How long ago did you self refer?

katherine123x · 28/02/2023 07:44

@Hopefulx hi - had the booking appt hours after self referral but no scan date yet that's all :)

Hopefulx · 28/02/2023 07:58

@katherine123x I know some areas give you your scan date in your booking appointment so yours might be like that x

when is your booking appointment? X

@katherine123x @Hopefulx
This is what my areas does. First appointment is at 9 weeks and then book the second when there. Hopefully I can work it around my husband being here!

katherine123x · 28/02/2023 08:09

Ahhh mines next Friday! So hopefully will get it then :)

Beemug · 28/02/2023 08:31

@Saturnsmoon i made a gp appt after about 10 hours, and went to the appt after about 16 hours. I had ketones in my urine sample so I was given cyclizine which I’ve been taking since and is making a difference (definitely hasn’t gone completely but is manageable). I’m 6 1/2 weeks. Really hope you feel better soon xxx

Saturnsmoon · 28/02/2023 09:09

Thank you @Beemug I finally stopped vomiting after 9 hours and have managed to keep a little bit of food and drink down so things are looking up. Hope (probably naively) that this was just an awful one off and not a sign of things to come (I’m 8+2 so not uncommon for sickness to peak around this time).

Summer022 · 28/02/2023 09:15

I self-referred in about 2 weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything. I referred in as soon as I found out I was pregnant so I’m only 6 weeks at the moment. Hoping I hear something soon but also prepared for a bit of a wait. Im so concerned as I have almost no symptoms still, I have sore nipples but that’s about all. I’m hoping this isn’t a bad sign 🙁

LaVitesse2022 · 28/02/2023 09:27

I received my first appointment 10 days after self-referral but didn't receive scan date yet. I'll be 9+6 for appt, maybe they'll only book me in for the scan then. I'm with Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust.

NSx · 28/02/2023 09:48

I’m in Scotland & they pretty much give you both appts on the spot when you self refer 🤍 so I had my appts since like 3/4 weeks pregnant lol x

blebbleb · 28/02/2023 10:14

Symptoms have started for me at 6 plus 2. Tiredness and really sore boobs. No sickness and hoping it stays that way!

HistoryFanatic · 28/02/2023 10:15

Mine is at 9 weeks. Guess it is busy as just after Christmas/New year. 🤣

ttcttc · 28/02/2023 10:42

Everyone seems to be in a similar position, they must be busy/understaffed. Is anyone getting a private scan and how much are they in your area?
