@BambiBooBoo what a lovely surprise! So nice to hear a positive surprise like that!

ukMummyof1 · 21/02/2023 15:41

My first pregnancy I think I had a little bump at my 16 week gender scan but this time don't plan to tell people until I'm between 16 and 20 weeks (as long as they don't get it out of my sooner haha!)
I've heard that your second time round you get a bump sooner than your first so I do wonder... I'm quite small as it is so going to have to really be sucking it in at my aunties wedding this spring😂

Ss32 · 21/02/2023 15:55

With my first, I remember posting a ‘bump’ pic online at 16 weeks and my brother laughed and said ‘that’s just biscuits’. When I look back now, I have to laugh because it really was the tiniest bump ever, I was really slim (not as much now 😩) so it literally just looked like I’d had a coke and was bloated! Then my bump seemed to pop at about 24 weeks

buckingmad · 21/02/2023 16:14

@ukMummyof1 im short with a short body and having my second. I think my bump will pop pretty early and I want to keep it from work for as long as possible 😭. I think I’ll be ok until it gets warm as I can wear jumpers but I think the game will be up soon as I can’t hide behind them!

On the other hand I’m going on holiday when I’ll be about 20 weeks and I want to have an obvious bump rather than people think I’ve had a big lunch 😂

Ladies, if anyone is constipated, please speak to your GP and ask for lactulose, it’s a life saver 😂😅

braxxen · 21/02/2023 16:55

Rang the GP today and they've suggested I go to A and E as I'm struggling to keep liquid down. The only problem is I'm too tired to go to A and E 😂

iloveeggs · 21/02/2023 17:07

Just an update, had my scan this morning. They can see it's in the right place, but no heart beat, I'm 5+4 so probably just too early. Have another one next week so pray for me 🙏

@braxxen Have you anyone that can take you?

BambiBooBoo · 21/02/2023 17:13

Jealousofchiliheeler · 21/02/2023 15:36

Wonderful news @BambiBooBoo ! Out of interest how many weeks were you at the last scan? I've got one tomorrow to rule out ectopic which I'm worried about, but also worried in case they also can't find anything because I'm only 5 weeks.

I was 5weeks2 and could only see the yolk/ gestational sac x

Jealousofchiliheeler · 21/02/2023 17:33

@BambiBooBoo ok thanks that's helpful, at least they should be able to see if it's in the right place then

braxxen · 21/02/2023 17:48

@iloveeggs I've decided I'm going to take a very small sip of water every 2/3 mins and see what happens. If I can't keep it down, I'll go tomorrow.

Keeping everything crossed for your scan next week.

CB23CB · 21/02/2023 18:01

@BambiBooBoo congrats, lovely to see the scan 💖

@blebbleb I don't really have any symptoms either. I'm tired but I'm a tired teacher already!
I'm just anxious about MC after having one in Jan and falling pregnant again without a period in between. Never wanted to feel nauseous more

iloveeggs · 21/02/2023 18:06

@braxxen Maybe try a frozen ice pop or something too even to get some fluid into to, hope you feel a bit better soon!

I just want it to be next week now, I'm so impatient and anxious. Even though he told me it's completely normal not to see one yet, it still worries me 🙈Definitely not going to get with the insomnia.

AmyJames85 · 21/02/2023 18:07

How do you book an early scan? Is it private or NHS? Xx

braxxen · 21/02/2023 18:08

@AmyJames85 I had an early scan at 7 weeks and booked privately through window to the womb.

AmyJames85 · 21/02/2023 18:11

I am used to the metallic taste when not pregnant! It's low iron xx
Are you taking the pregnancy vits? Should help.

I'm due 30th Oct...can't believe I'm saying that! 3rd baby. I'm 37. With a new partner. He's got 3 boys! 🙈 Still getting used to the idea. But always wanted three...just didn't think it would happen.

I'm 4 weeks and 3 and getting strong sharp pains today in bum. Not like needing a poo, just strong pains. Come and go. Weird.

AmyJames85 · 21/02/2023 18:12

Hi, due my 3rd 30th October 😬
Got 11 yo and a 6yo. Xx

I don't feel ready to join just yet, would rather wait til I'm a little further along, but I found the FB group for my first so wonderful (anyone from the lockdown girls group here?!) - will this stay open to join later for a while?
Don't want to jinx anything!

Klex · 21/02/2023 18:22

I am really jealous of those of you with huge appetites.

I got food aversions last time and they've started with a vengeance in the last couple of days.

Poor DH cooked sweet and sour chicken and I literally had two bites before I started feeling really nauseated.

afinethingindeed · 21/02/2023 18:26

I've had a really weird symptom appear over the weekend - I've lost my sense of taste. It's not covid or any other cold/flu, I feel perfectly fine. I just can't taste. It's so weird.
I've heard of metallic tastes or sensitivities leading to aversions...but I just can't taste at all. Anyone else?!?

SlowlyGainingConfidence · 21/02/2023 18:51

Like @IaminRome I'd love to join a Facebook group a bit later on all being well. Had a great group with my little boy and a number of us are still in a very active WhatsApp 2 years later! I guess if there's lots of us we could always do a second group later for those who don't feel ready to join yet if needed.

I felt nauseous most of yesterday but nothing today, I have the uncertainty of it all. Worked out i didnt even test last time until tomorrow so ive had a whole extra week of worrying already. Last time i didn't feel ill until week 6, by week 7 I was barely eating anything other than crackers!

I got a bit of a bump by wk 17 last time but could've easily hidden it until much further if needed.

Alexandra07 · 21/02/2023 19:14

@ukMummyof1 with my first I started showing at 12/13 weeks, my normal clothes were really stretched if they still fitted me. I was size 12.
I am size 14 now and I hope I can keep it a secret till the 12 week scan. Maybe they will think I ate a lot during Easter!

@BambiBooBoo such wonderful news! Welcome back!

JoanneV · 21/02/2023 20:20

Feeling so rough, it's my first so not sure if its normal and plus I have a chronic pain condition but everything hurts, I'm always tired, unbelievably anxious about everything and even then when I've nothing to worry about I just have a deep sense of dread. I feel sick all day and constantly bloated. Picking fights with people so easily. Its like PMS but ten times worse, poor DH. I keep apologising for it. I just hope to god it gets better.

Soda123x · 21/02/2023 20:43

Hi guys. This is my bump progression collage from my last pregnancy. I was a size 14 then so think the bump was alot less noticeable than if I was super slim etc .... I'm probs around the same size now so I'm guessing i will start to show around 20+ weeks again xx

Ps the test is in Spanish as we found out whilst on holiday lol xx
