@amybooth hope all goes well x

MeganC104 · 21/02/2023 10:26

@blebbleb I don't have symptoms and from I remember and read they don't really start until after 6 weeks (if they do at all). It's normal to not have symptoms too.

I got a strong positive on my cheap test today. Eek!

blebbleb · 21/02/2023 10:27

@MeganC104 ah so glad you got your strong line! It's lovely when that happens!

OrionNebula · 21/02/2023 10:30

Good luck @amybooth

iloveeggs · 21/02/2023 10:32

@SnookyPook & @braxxen Thank you!! I will let you all know after.

I was also up all night with insomnia, it's slowly killing me. Waking up every hour or 2, it's the worst!

fleur89 · 21/02/2023 11:16

My symptoms kicked properly in around 6 weeks, so I reckon hold tight girls 💗

mariamari · 21/02/2023 11:16

@iloveeggs uff yes the insomnia is so challenging. I wasn’t aware that was a thing! With you ♥️ Let’s hope it doesn’t stick around.

I’ve also got sinusitis & nausea just kicked in so I’ve had to cut out coffee and nibble on dry crackers instead.

I have been searching for pregnancy meditations that I find soothing for those sleepless nights: this one is sweet

Jealousofchiliheeler · 21/02/2023 11:22

Congratulations @ukMummyof1 glad you got such a good line!

Congratulations also @mariamari, lovely scan pic!

I have just got back from GP, had a return of left low abdo pain which was niggling me last week but then went away, but it's back as of last night and this morning. They've booked me in for an scan at the hospital tomorrow afternoon, not sure how I'll focus at work rest of today and don't think I'll sleep at all tonight!

iloveeggs · 21/02/2023 12:12

@mariamari Ooooh I will try this one tonight! i'm also living off crackers, ritz are my diet at the moment 😂

ukMummyof1 · 21/02/2023 12:27

Probably a silly question because everyone's different but to those who have had one or more children before, when did you start getting a bump? Xx

BambiBooBoo · 21/02/2023 12:36

Hi ladies 👋
I'm back! After being told there was no baby and I was miscarrying and leaving the chat / Facebook groups - today I saw my baby and their heartbeat!!! I was just earlier than we thought due to my cycles

Does anyone have the link to the Facebook group please? Thanks

Mamabear345 · 21/02/2023 12:40

@ukMummyof1 with my first I barely had a bump by 20 weeks, and only looked pregnant to other people depending on what clothes I wore by 25 weeks. I remember going into a shop to buy maternity gowns for the hospital and nursing bras at 33 weeks and the woman was like “oh you’re stocking up early”… she was shocked when I told her how far along I was.

this pregnancy, I’m almost 8 weeks and already feel like my bump is as big 🤣 and definitely not fitting in my jeans haha.

buckingmad · 21/02/2023 12:42

@ukMummyof1 i was so bloated with my first that I couldn’t do up my jeans for my 12 week scan. Then the bloat went bit I still had a bump lower down. So I’d say about 12 weeks was when I could see a little one but I was tiny! I was 7.5 stone at my booking in appointment and not an ounce of fat. I’m not going into this pregnancy like that 😂.

Could someone add the name of the FB group please? I remember being in one for my first and it was lovely!

amybooth · 21/02/2023 12:44

@BambiBooBoo that's great news, so pleased for you! Welcome backSmile

I'm just home from my gp appointment. Had my observations checked and the gp felt my tummy- she's not concerned currently but said if anything changes or I get further symptoms to go to a&e or call 999.

The gp did ask me at the beginning of the appointment "what was I expecting from coming for a doctors appointment" so I responded by saying "reassurance, checking over.."

blebbleb · 21/02/2023 12:49

Is there a Facebook group?x

Saturnsmoon · 21/02/2023 13:09

@Alexandra07 @buckingmad thank you for sharing your wisdom ladies! Might just buy some additional comfy pants and the bra extenders for now then.

OrionNebula · 21/02/2023 13:14

Congrats @BambiBooBoo great news!

On my first I got a jump about 16 weeks. It appeared quite suddenly, I remember getting in a lift at work and looking in the mirror and being like "wow I look really pregnant" 😂

buckingmad · 21/02/2023 13:19

@amybooth i don’t know why some people are in the healthcare service. What a horrible thing to say! Pregnancy is so scary and they always encourage you to get things looked at and then wonder why people don’t like to make a fuss! Because of unhelpful comments like this!

my 18mo fell and chipped a tooth a month or so back and the emergency dentist essentially said the same to me. I pointed out 111 had sent me there based on photos and what I had said, I hadn’t asked for an appointment and I’m not a dentist so don’t know what chip needs looking at and what don’t.

DancingNancies · 21/02/2023 13:20

@blebbleb I only got the occasional bit of nausea with both my DC throughout the whole first trimester, and that was usually because I'd taken the prenatal vitamins without eating - not making that mistake this time! 😣

@ukMummyof1 I didn't show until about 20 weeks the first time, but second time round I had a bump much earlier on. Though I'm a couple of stone heavier than pre-kids this time round, so hoping I can up my exercise and my belly will shrink as my bump grows so my clothes fit for a bit longer!

33Carr · 21/02/2023 13:33

Booked my first scan for when I should be 7 weeks 😊

Been having some left sided twinges, not necessarily painful but I'm aware it's there. Maybe a pulling sensation? Don't know if I should be concerned about it with regards to being an ectopic or not? Does anyone have any advice or previous experiences they're happy to share?

amybooth · 21/02/2023 13:40

@buckingmad it frustrates me more because I work in the healthcare profession. My patients always apologise for "bothering me" and every time I tell them it's not a bother, it's what I'm here for and it's always better to be safe than sorry. Shame not everyone thinks this way

iloveeggs · 21/02/2023 13:54

@amybooth I'm sorry it went like that 😞It took me a while to find a GP that I actually liked and felt like they cared

Jealousofchiliheeler · 21/02/2023 15:32

@amybooth sorry you had a bad experience with the GP. I got asked similar today but I don't think they actually meant it in a shitty way. I asked my mate who's a GP about it, she said it's actually part of GP training to ask that in order to understand expectations. But it sounds like that wasn't how it came across for you, maybe either an inexperienced GP or else they were just a bit of a dick!

Jealousofchiliheeler · 21/02/2023 15:36

Wonderful news @BambiBooBoo ! Out of interest how many weeks were you at the last scan? I've got one tomorrow to rule out ectopic which I'm worried about, but also worried in case they also can't find anything because I'm only 5 weeks.
