@allgoodthings84 yeah, this time im going to be persistant and ask for it. It is at a different department but all in the same hospital so hopefully this afternoon i get some answers! X

Londongirl87 · 06/03/2023 14:22

Good luck today @LM88 ! Keep us updated !

Stargazer89 · 06/03/2023 16:42

hope it goes well @LM88 x

allgoodthings84 · 06/03/2023 19:22

@LM88 I hope it all went ok

LM88 · 07/03/2023 09:35

@allgoodthings84 & to everyone else who has messaged ❤I had another scan yday at the early pregnancy unit & all was great. Baby is fine, no bleeding anywhere. No issues. Referred me to triage for a cervix check, took swabs to be sent off but were concerned blood was just “pooled” in my vagina. Hadnt bled much yday so strange it wasnt coming out!?
they dont know why or how so class it as a “threatened miscarriage” - on pessaries for two weeks. They dont stop the bleeding just increase hormones to support the pregnancy. So lots of bed rest xx

allgoodthings84 · 07/03/2023 09:45

@LM88 that’s great news! I was put on progesterone pessaries too after my bit of bleeding until 16 weeks which is this Saturday. You can take them vaginally or anally. The consultant recommended to me that “up the back passage” is better as the less you have to stick up the vagina right now the better as they do make you sore after a few days. I went with what she said and they do make you sore so can imagine how it would feel vaginally. Word of warning, however you take them they will likely make you constipated and your poop will change colour after a few days of using them!

LM88 · 07/03/2023 09:49

@allgoodthings84 They never mentioned anally to me. I will see how i go with these. I am still bleeding though, trying to be positive. Bed rest and netflix
How is your bleeding? X

Harls97 · 07/03/2023 09:51

Hi all I'm 17 weeks pregnant fire time mum, I wondered if it was okay to dye my hair and eyebrows? ☺️

allgoodthings84 · 07/03/2023 10:22

@LM88 my bleeding stopped the next day. The consultant told me progesterone can sometimes stop bleeding but not always so no idea if it was because of the pessaries or coincidental. Yea both the consultant and the pharmacist at the actual hospital advised better to take cyclogest (progesterone pessaries) anally as less sore that way and best to not keep putting things up the vagina if bleeding if it can be avoided. There’s no mess anally either. I’m glad I’m nearly at 16 weeks so can stop them soon to be honest and hopefully I’ll get no more blood

I have my gender scan booked for when I’m 17+1 (I’m 15+3 now) so I’m hoping everything is all good in there as will be awhile until I feel proper consistent movement because of an anterior placenta

DandelionPockets · 07/03/2023 12:31

@LM88 so glad to read that ❤️. Get plenty of rest!

@LM88 have been thinking of you, so glad to hear this.

Owlgirl14 · 07/03/2023 13:05

@Ally345 Glad to hear you're ok 💜

cinnamonbiscuit · 07/03/2023 15:51

@LM88 so glad everything is ok, take it easy!

Ally345 · 08/03/2023 09:43

How is everyone doing?
I just came off the back of norovirus which was brutal and lost 5kg in 5 days bringing me lower than my pre-pregnancy weight. 2 days later and I have tested positive for Covid. Quite worried as was hospitalised with Covid early last year and already feeling so depleted after noro. Talking to GP today and hoping this bout will be milder.

Moni81 · 08/03/2023 12:58

I just received my blood test results letter for syndromes and there is no numbers, just saying lower chance. I have seen you all getting numbers, not sure my hospital doesn't state it.

Preggobelly · 08/03/2023 13:40

@Moni81 do you have the badger app? I’m just guessing everywhere in the UK use it but they may not. If you do, my results with the numbers were loaded on there.

cinnamonbiscuit · 08/03/2023 13:56

It’s my turn to have a freak out about bleeding! I had a random smear of fresh blood on wiping this morning while at work (total nightmare because I teach one to one and don’t get a break for hours). I phoned triage and they told me to monitor with a pad, there was no more blood after that but still panicking! I’ve got my 16 week appointment this afternoon and almost want to decline the Doppler in case they can’t find the heartbeat 😩

DandelionPockets · 08/03/2023 14:10

@Moni81 I would really want the numbers, can you call your midwife or hospital and ask for the numbers? Or do you have a midwife appointment coming up you could ask at? Low risk could be 1:200 or 1:20,000.

@cinnamonbiscuit sorry you're having such a worrying time. At least you can speak to the midwife about what's happened and seek advice this afternoon?

Moni81 · 08/03/2023 14:17

@Preggobelly the only code I have is this, not sure if it's for badger.
@DandelionPockets I have my 16 weeks midwife on 22nd this month, will ask.
With both previous pregnancies I had numbers in very short letter, this one is like ....we are very pleased blah blah blah and just tick on boxes with lower risks.

Moni81 · 08/03/2023 14:20

Obviously my low risk numbers will be in different lower ranges as I'm 42, maybe that's why they don't like to give ratio, as it doesn't look great like in thousands.

cinnamonbiscuit · 08/03/2023 14:24

@DandelionPockets yes I think I will ask about the possibility of a UTI, and I also had a placenta issue last time that wasn’t picked up until DD was born so I want to ask about that as well just for reassurance in case it could be happening again and causing the bleeding.

I’m just really scared they will try to find the heartbeat and if they can’t (which I know isn’t necessarily a cause for concern at 16 weeks) they will be completely unbothered but I will have a meltdown!

Preggobelly · 08/03/2023 14:31

@Moni81 i don’t think that’s for the badger app unfortunately 😔 if you call your midwife she should hopefully be able to get the numbers for you to save you a long wait until you see her.

LM88 · 08/03/2023 14:35

@cinnamonbiscuit try not to worry! Easier said than done, i know.
You have your appointment today so you can mention it, this week I have realised how common it is. Im on day 7 of bleeding!
positive thinking - you got this x

cinnamonbiscuit · 08/03/2023 14:47

@LM88 thank you- will update later. Almost hoping my midwife is one of those who doesn’t like to check the heartbeat!

Moni81 · 08/03/2023 16:07

15 weeks on Friday and today I can seriously feel baby moving. As I remember with previous pregnancies 16 weeks is the mark for it, so I guess just about the time. Anyone else ?
