Should we start another one then? They don't really massively get going until around now anyway!

allgoodthings84 · 24/02/2023 08:16

@Owlgirl14 my nausea has settled loads. I still get it but only a couple times a day rather than 24/7. I remember having nausea until 20ish weeks with my first. My boobs had stopped feeling so sore (still were getting bigger though) but since I’ve been put on progesterone sore boobs are back but luckily it’s not brought back the constant nausea so guessing it wasn’t my progesterone causing that before

I would love if we had a FB group! I missed the previous one.

@Rainbowmamma23 I don't know if this helps or confuses you, but my HCG levels at my 12-week scan were higher than yours, 2.7MoM, and my results came back as low risk (1 in 1600 or thereabouts). I've read that HCG levels peak around weeks 10 to 12, and my level was completely normal. So I would really want to understand why your results came back high risk beyond the HCG levels, because surely it can't just be that. Thinking of you!

Rainbowmamma23 · 24/02/2023 15:20

@laurapalmer22 so kind of you to share! That really has made me feel much better ♥️

Can I ask what your NT was measuring? I spoke with someone today who said that maybe it was as mine was 3mm, mixed with the Hcg that it showed as a high (even though 3mm isn't enough to worry!). Thanks lovely xxx

laurapalmer22 · 24/02/2023 15:25

@Rainbowmamma23 My NT measured at 1.4mm. It makes sense what you're saying, that it could be the combination of the two. Probabilities can be so frustrating to deal with!

Rainbowmamma23 · 24/02/2023 15:31

@laurapalmer22 ah that does make sense then! Really glad yours was all low risk btw ♥️ in my excitement of reassurance I forgot to say!

I spoke with the ARC charity who were really nice and they said that it would have taken my NT into account (even though it wasn't a worry) and that the screening is all based on patterns rather than specifics. So they're being more cautious than to essential to catch any outliers or maybes.

I can't even tell you have reassured you've made me ♥️

laurapalmer22 · 24/02/2023 15:53

@Rainbowmamma23 Makes a lot of sense what the ARC charity told you. Fingers crossed for you ❤️

Stargazer89 · 24/02/2023 17:53

@Rainbowmamma23 have you had a date through for your CVS yet? It's such a stressful time. I remember talking to a few people in a similar position when I was going through it and we all had good news. So hopefully you will be the same and the odds are certainly in your favour.

I'm still so worried this time around even though i'm low risk. I think having a high risk last time followed by 3 miscarriages has sent my anxiety through the roof. I have another scan with consultant in a weeks time and have the chance to have an amino if I want because my last miscarriage came back positive for T16 (although consultant is pretty certain this baby doesn't have that because most are one offs and almost all end in first trimester loss). But I just can't shake the feeling that something will go wrong again although don't want to risk miscarriage from amino for low odds.

Rainbowmamma23 · 24/02/2023 17:59

@Stargazer89 thanks for checking in ♥️ not been given the cvs date yet and the wait is excruciating. I'm based in Brighton and they've said that they don't have any appointments this coming week for me, so have referred me to Kings College in London. I'm currently waiting for them to call (but the way it's looking is that I'll be waiting the whole weekend 😭).

How quickly did you have the cvs once it was flagged?

So sorry that you're feeling so anxious. I think your concerns are really valid, after what you've been through. Our bodies remember the trauma of losing the baby and it's so hard not to prepare yourself for the worst ♥️ sounds like you are doing all you can to manage the situation though! Here if you want to dm x

Stargazer89 · 24/02/2023 18:22

Thank you @Rainbowmamma23 !

Oh how frustrating for you that they haven't given you a date yet. The waiting is the worst part. I was really lucky because I had the call weds afternoon and I was booked in to have the cvs or harmony on the friday. I choose the harmony after the consultant reassured me that there were no other markers. Fingers crossed you can be seen early next week.

Rainbowmamma23 · 24/02/2023 18:40

@Stargazer89 yes, I'm really hoping early next week will bring some kind of clarity ♥️ will update when I know more x

Hi everyone, I can finally join you with my scan I had today. I had very funny sonographer, she asked me to do some Shakira dance lol and was constantly moving bed up and down, I literally went head down at some point lol. Baby was in strange position, looked asleep, then after that commotion woke up with hiccups, could literally see it jumping on screen, not sure that's exactly the outcome sonographer wanted lol. Eventually all checks were made, with note 'scan technically difficult'🤣. Not out of woods yet, waiting for blood results, event though NT was ok at 1.4 as some of you experienced it can all change with blood tests. My ratio will be down anyway due to age, just have to wait and see. My date was brought just one day forward to 1st September. The whole experience is much better now than years ago when I had to peak on small sonographer screen. They literally had 50inch screen lol a bit misleading baby looked really big when in fact is just only about 7cm.

@Cloudheaven I know how you feel with the headaches and nausea. To say how bad I was last night, I'm feeling much better today thankfully. I only seem to get symptoms from 7pm onwards....not sure why. I popped my sickness bands on at 6pm today which may have helped.

@allgoodthings84 Glad your nausea has settled, mine seems better today after putting my sick bands back on early. I must say my boobs haven't grown at all it seems, that was going to be one of the bonuses but nothing yet.

@Moni81 Congrats on the scan, we were opposite and had quite the wiggly bum. At one point they were upside done so I had to jiggle about a bit to try get them to move.

Moni81 · 24/02/2023 21:44

@Owlgirl14 thanks, that's how mine was upside down, when she started to poke and press baby woke up, could see it waving hands, opening mouth etc, after shaking up for baby to move, it got hiccups 🙈 I drunk over litre of fluid but was asked to drink more next time 😬

Nik84 · 25/02/2023 09:09

We found out the gender for both our girls when I was pregnant with them, so I assumed we’d find out with this one. I spoke to my husband about whether we should have a gender scan at 16 weeks and he’s said he’d like to wait until the baby is born this time! At first I was thinking he’s mad, how on Earth will I find the patience. But now I’m feeling really excited thinking about waiting until the moment they’re born to know. Anyone else not finding out?

allgoodthings84 · 25/02/2023 09:25

@Nik84 we are definitely finding out as it’s my partners first and he’s excited to know and we told my daughter last night and she’s excited to know too. Im a planner so like to know and I’m not a fan of beige and most neutral baby clothes tend to be beige or white. I like colour on babies. Expensive brands have colours suitable for both but not worth it for newborns. White looks cute but so the wrong colour for leakages and sick 😂. I don’t get why there’s not more choice of yellows, reds, light greens, turquoise etc. I’ve looked in all shops and there’s only a couple options in each apart from in more expensive places. There’s a yellow koala one I love in jojo but I don’t tend to buy their clothes until they last a bit longer 😂

allgoodthings84 · 25/02/2023 09:28

has anyone bought anything yet? I’ve not. I’m taking my daughter to buy its first jellycat from jojo today. She’s so excited.

I got my 20 week scan appointment letter yesterday. It’s at 20+5 weeks. Was expecting it to be between 20 and 21 weeks as I’m 20 weeks over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

allgoodthings84 · 25/02/2023 09:33

my partner isn’t going to get any paternity as he’s starting a new job and will be 2.5 weeks short of being entitled to it (he has to be there 6 months by the due date/date it’s born if early). He couldn’t turn down the offer because of it though. Hopefully he can have it as holiday but will depend on whether someone else has already booked it off or not. Keeping our fingers crossed not. Luckily because I’m having a planned section we will have a better idea of when baby will be here. At the moment we are going by 39 weeks as will be around then. My daughter was 8 days late so they aren’t expecting this one to come earlier than 39 weeks unless there’s unknown complications of course.
