@Rainbowmamma23 thank you. I had my 12 week scan last week and everything was great so I’m hoping it’s nothing but glad they are checking as it does worry me

Owlgirl14 · 20/02/2023 19:01

@Londongirl87 Congrats on the scan, don't know how you managed the star jumps on a full bladder though!

I thought I was 12+2 but was put as 13+1 so like you also skipped almost a week too which was a bonus. Also nice to know they are growing well as my medication can affect growth and I've got an extra scan booked x

Nik84 · 20/02/2023 19:11

@allgoodthings84 Remember brown blood is usually nothing to worry about and GP’s can be quick to refer so try not to stress. Easier said than done and I know I would be stressing too. Odds are in your favour xx

Nik84 · 20/02/2023 19:21

@allgoodthings84 I wonder if the pressure of the scan on your uterus could have caused some old blood to dislodge? I’ve been quite achy since my scan, I found it really uncomfortable when she was moving around to see baby 🤔

allgoodthings84 · 20/02/2023 19:48

@Nik84 I was thinking the same thing as my tummy felt sore for a few days after as she had to push hard to get the baby to move into the right position. Hopefully that’s all it is. Hopefully the GP is just going above and beyond rather than anything being wrong. It’s definitely only brown and only a couple times a day and nothing is on my knickers or anything and it’s only in my discharge when there’s no discharge there’s no brown on the paper.

Congrats on all the happy scan news! I had nuchal screening results yesterday, low risk for everything so v relieved about that!
Sickness still awful at 14 weeks 🤢 starting to get fed up with it now!

Congrats on scan. I'm 12 weeks today and my nausea is horrendous. It's making every day a real struggle. I really hoped it would go away by now. It's causing severe heartburn too.

divorcingmumoftwo · 21/02/2023 07:26

I've got horrendous pain in my side. I've had a chest infection for 5 weeks and I cannot shift it, I didn't know I was pregnant at the time ( only found out a week ago!) so now it makes sense. But I've had this pain in my side for a week or so. I coughed last night and feel like something popped and the pain since is awful. Paracetamol isn't touching it and I have no idea how to get through the day. Id be very worried about ectopic if I hadn't already pain for my private scan. But even moving my leg hurts!

Owlgirl14 · 21/02/2023 09:45

@thirdtimemummy101 my nausea started to get better at 12 weeks and now don't have much of it at nearly 14 weeks so hang in there and hopefully you will feel better soon 😊 x

Owlgirl14 · 21/02/2023 09:49

So I've now told work I'm pregnant which I thought would shock my manager but she said she did wonder the week before if I had a little bump or if it was bloating 😂

I'm definately showing now and was struggling to hide it so said I had to tell you straight away after the scan before anyone else notices. Although asked to keep it to herself until we get the screening results back.

Also as it was unplanned, I've surprisingly had a few personal questions from close family about how it happened 🙈 It shocked me a bit to be honest, as thought they'd just take it at face value but obviously not! Has anyone else had the same?

Stargazer89 · 21/02/2023 17:47

@divorcingmumoftwo are you feeling any better today? I hope so, that sounds pretty painful.

Can I ask if anyone is late 30s what your screening results came back as? After 3 losses and a high risk in my first pregnancy (which turned out to be fine) I have no faith in my body. I'm so worried that something isn't right and it's stopping me from enjoying being pregnant. We have told close family but I just feel awkward if they mention it because I just can't imagine having a healthy baby at the end of it all x

Catlikereactions · 21/02/2023 18:09

Hi guys, due early Sept and I just had my 12 week scan (at 12 weeks 5 days) and wondered if anyone had any nub guesses? Sorry possibly not the forum for it, but one pic I think boy and the other girl so looking for more opinions!

@Catlikereactions oh I think a boy!! 💙

Nik84 · 21/02/2023 19:51

I woke up in the night with sharp pains on both sides low down, if I hadn’t had a scan already I would have been worried about ectopic. Today I’ve had really odd strong, quick spasms over different parts of my belly. I’m hoping it’s normal stretching/pulling from my growing uterus…

@allgoodthings84 How did the scan go today?

@Nik84 It’s ok as far as they can tell. Baby is moving around and heartbeat strong and my cervix is closed and not too long or short.

Had to wait hours as had to see a consultant because of the previous miscarriages. She was really good and has prescribed me progesterone as a precaution for the next 3 weeks. She said the GP should have prescribed me it from the day I got a positive pregnancy test after having previous miscarriages but the GP wouldn’t when I asked about it said they aren’t allowed until 3 miscarriages so a bit conflicting but my GP is a different trust not the same as the hospital I’m registered at (different counties but the one I’m going to is actually much closer and easier to get to) so could just vary at different trusts. 16 weeks is when you stop taking progesterone anyway so I’ve got enough until 16 and a half weeks she said just take the lot. It’s only precautionary though it’s not that she thinks it’s definitely needed.

She did a swab in case it’s an infection which will be sent off but she couldn’t see any signs of infection. Says it’s likely just old blood finally making its way out but to call them if it gets any worse or if I’m worried and they will scan for babies heartbeat and to not worry about going in it’s never a waste of their time etc. she definitely made me feel like we did the right thing in going but was reassuring at the same time

Nik84 · 21/02/2023 21:57

@allgoodthings84 that sounds really positive and it has been taken seriously so it’s reassuring. Hopefully things will settle down for you now and you can relax a bit. So pleased all is ok x

cinnamonbiscuit · 21/02/2023 22:05

@allgoodthings84 I was thinking about you today, so glad everything is alright!

ILookAtTheFloor · 22/02/2023 12:14

Is anyone else fully showing? I can barely hide it this time, I'm 13+3. With my first I didn't show until 24 weeks! This is my third pregnancy after a huge gap! Please say I'm not alone haha.

Rainbowmamma23 · 22/02/2023 12:17

@ILookAtTheFloor I'm not fully showing but I'm definitely out of normal jeans etc 😂

Rainbowmamma23 · 22/02/2023 12:18

@ILookAtTheFloor 13 today!♥️

allgoodthings84 · 22/02/2023 12:37

@Nik84 @cinnamonbiscuit it’s still happening once or twice a day but I’ll try and chill unless it gets more frequent or changes colour then I’ll contact them again. Hopefully it’s just one of those annoying things rather than anything wrong.

@ILookAtTheFloor I’m 13+4 and not really showing when dressed. I can feel a slight curve but when I’ve got my clothes on can’t see it. I’m still in my jeans too. I would rather see it growing a bit if I’m honest. I can’t remember when I started showing with my daughter but know it was after my 20 week scan as I had no visible bump then

Rainbowmamma23 · 22/02/2023 13:37

@allgoodthings84 that's brilliant! Sounds like you're in great hands ♥️ so pleased for you xxx

Ally345 · 22/02/2023 14:24

@allgoodthings84 so glad to hear everything seems okay and hope it settles for you soon.

@thirdtimemummy101 I am 12 weeks today and also still incredibly sick. The last 6 weeks have been super difficult and have mostly been in bed outside of work calls. Really hoping it eases soon.

NHS 12 weeks Scan is next Monday so really just wishing away the time until then, but so relieved to have made it this far :)

3rd pregnancy here too & my stomach muscles have clearly given up!
