@allgoodthings84 congratulations on the positive scan, really glad all is ok. how cute that your baby was covering her mouth tho 😊

Totally with you on the irrational thoughts, doesn't help when dreams are really vivid too!

I just had my 20 weeks scan and it went well!
Just like you @allgoodthings84 I spent 1h30 there, had to leave to drink cold water and walk while they scanned someone else, and do belly dancing, but they got all the measurements in the end!
We are having a little girl (which we already knew from the Harmony test, but always good to get a confirmation), and she's measuring small, in the 15th percentile for pretty much everything, which the sonographer said was perfectly fine.

My due date based on my 12 weeks scan is 1 week earlier than my due date based on my LMP, so this could just be this, or she might just be on the small side, but all remains normal.

Feeling so relieved, and now I can't wait to start planning for her arrival a bit more!

allgoodthings84 · 13/04/2023 17:12

@Londongirl87 I’m glad things went well in your scan too 😊. We wasn’t told what percentile baby is on but she said it was over the 10% and that’s all they are concerned about. I know she isn’t big by the fact I have the smallest bump still and I was the same with my daughter and she was only 6lb 12oz at 8 days late (41+1 weeks). Had to go to more than one growth scan with her as bump was always measuring too small. I’m only 5ft and have a small frame (when I’ve not gained pregnancy lbs 😂) so guess I carry what my body can handle. I’m not concerned as everything is in proportion today (all on same percentile) and over 10th so all good

isitaline97 · 13/04/2023 21:02

@DandelionPockets @Londongirl87 @allgoodthings84 congratulations on all your scans! Lovely to finally know what you have having those of you that know 🩷

I have mine today and all was looking great also 😊
They had to send me out for a jump around but they managed to get all the measurements too! They didn't tell me at all about what percentile the baby was in, should I have asked? 🤦‍♀️ we find out the gender on Saturday at our little party so that's exciting 🥰

Hope everyone is feeling well!

Londongirl87 · 13/04/2023 21:05

Great news @isitaline97 !

For the percentiles, they were on the summary of the scan, which the sonographer printed and gave me, to give to my midwife

Moni81 · 13/04/2023 21:10

@isitaline97 have look at second page of your scan summary paper, there should be graph pointing your baby growth. They gave me one after first scan, I keep it in pregnancy folder, so I assume it's with every other scan.

isitaline97 · 13/04/2023 21:14

@Londongirl87 @Moni81 thank-you both! They didn't give me anything after the scan 😩 all my maternity notes are on an app now they don't do the written ones in my area anymore. It's been updated today as it tells me the date it was last opened up but nothing on it under the ultrasound section! I wish we got the proper notes it feels they always forget to put things on the app! I might give the hospital a ring tomorrow and query about it as it would be nice to know!

allgoodthings84 · 13/04/2023 21:20

@isitaline97 I’m so glad yours went well today too 😊 lots of babies not playing ball 😂. I don’t know what percentile ours is just that it’s above 10% so they aren’t concerned. The fact that the sonographer purposely said that without us asking or saying anything makes me think she’s not a high percentile but as long as she’s above what is needed then all good.

laurapalmer22 · 14/04/2023 09:44

Congratulations on everyone's positive scans! 🥰 Lovely to read the updates.

Moni81 · 14/04/2023 16:41

Joining with my 20 weeks scan today. As with many of you baby was a bit difficult and for couple of final measurements I had to jump, run to toilet etc but finally got everything sorted. Baby was curling up and very fidgety lol. So far everything looks very good, on 53rd centile growth wise. Its's another girl for me which I suspected and having name fight now as my teenage daughters have their own ideas, hard to come to agreement 🤣

isitaline97 · 14/04/2023 19:34

Thankyou! I agree surely they would have said something for me too if there was an issue.

@Moni81 congratulations!! Sounds just like my scan jumping and toilet break 😂

Aah another girl! Have you any name ideas yet? We have our little reveal tomorrow so we find out then, I can't wait 🥰

Moni81 · 14/04/2023 22:33

@isitaline97 thanks, yeah I had to shake hips on bed, then star jumps ...accident waiting to happen with full bladder 😬then toilet to empty half of bladder lol
With name there is more voices to the pot as my 11 and 13 year old daughter have their own ideas about names. If it was boy then at least we ladies would have nothing to say 😁. Luckily there will be 2 names so compromise to be made on second one. Still searching...my pick is Amber, daughters like Claudia and Eden....my partner insist it has to be Christian name 🙈. Looks like it will be tough decision, need to bring more names to pot. One rule for me is I don't want longer first name, so people dont make up short forms. My other daughters are Louise and Chloe, plus their stepsister Sara ...so yes he is girl maker lol, but in all fairness they all turn out well so better he sticks with what he does best 🤣

allgoodthings84 · 15/04/2023 14:02

@Moni81 I’m glad your scan went well too 😊. We have a few names in mind and luckily agree on our favourites so far. I didn’t bother with a full bladder this time as I had to empty it at my 12 weeks nhs scan and my 17 weeks private scan so didn’t put myself through the pain again 😂. I’m only little so think my body just doesn’t need it as I also had to empty it every time when I had scans with my daughter too.

isitaline97 · 16/04/2023 17:17

@Moni81 😂😂 I know how you feel I cannot handle the full bladder situation for these scans! Luckily they told me half a bladder this time. Aah well Eden seems to satisfy your daughters and partner, but I do love the name Amber!

We had our little reveal yesterday, we're having a girl!! 🩷

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend.

Moni81 · 16/04/2023 17:38

@isitaline97 that's great news, welcome to girls club😁 now we can finally start buying baby clothes. I have obviously nothing left so gathering everything from scratch. I am a bit confused about sizing, 0-3 should be fine but I remember l some of the outwear were too big in this size. Luckily this time summer baby so will not need too much warm stuff right away.

isitaline97 · 16/04/2023 18:00

@Moni81 aah exciting 🥰 it's first time for me so also buying from scratch and feeling clueless! 😂 is it best the avoid newborn clothes? I'm worried they'll end up being too small to wear, and everyone keeps telling me it's easy to nip to the supermarket and pick up some little baby grows if needed.

My kids were 8lbs 3 and 9lbs 1oz. Both were very long. Both still managed to fit newborn for a couple of weeks. We got some "up to 1 month" things too and any newborn gifts we got we returned. Up to 1 month suited us for a few weeks then 0-3 swamped them for a bit. It's just trial and error. Some good bundles on vinted and marketplace for big bundles of baby grows etc

allgoodthings84 · 16/04/2023 19:05

@isitaline97 it’s so hard to guess. My daughter was 6lb 12oz and newborn swamped her for 2 weeks and had to go out and get some tiny baby. She was predicted (by growth scans) to be 7lbs 10oz by her due date but she was 8 days late and nearly a lb lighter. It’s all guess work. I still don’t fully know what we will do this time round.

Moni81 · 16/04/2023 20:06

Both my girls were between 3-3.6kg but so different build. First one longer but very slim and most clothes were just too baggy. The other one was heavier and chunkier, really don't know what to expect this time round, but shouldn't be way off this range, no more than 4 kg I guess. At the moment at 53rd centile so unless has massive growth spurt, she shouldn't get too big. I'm definitely buying clothes on vinted, as you can often get new, barely used clothes for fraction of price. I get all my girls branded sportswear through vinted and some fashion items on Shein. For young kids next whole year clearance section is also brilliant. Marketplace and shpock for bigger things to collect. I rarely venture to shopping centres as there are hardly any good deals.

allgoodthings84 · 17/04/2023 10:25

waiting at hospital for my consultant’s appointment now. I got here (after a nightmare trying to park) and went to the toilet then went to reception to book in and find out where I need to go to wait and they booked me in and handed me a pot and tube and told me to do a urine sample 😂 I wish my letter had mentioned this and I wouldn’t have gone before booking in! I’m waiting with all the couples waiting for their scans so feels a bit odd

Nik84 · 17/04/2023 16:07

My bump has really grown this week and I’m feeling so achy and uncomfortable. I’m waking every 40 mins or so through the night and can’t get comfortable 😫 My stomach muscles most be non existent this time round… 19 weeks to go 😝

laurapalmer22 · 17/04/2023 18:01

Just bought our stroller! A bit earlier than we anticipated, but we went to see it in-store this weekend and it was just perfect and they're low on stock, so we decided to just go for it, even though we're in the middle of doing up our house and don't really have the place to store it... 🙈

isitaline97 · 17/04/2023 18:36

@FarmBaby3 @allgoodthings84 @Moni81 aah so I should definitely get some newborn by the sounds of it! They just look so tiny when looking at them! 😂 my neighbour has just kindly offered to give us all her baby girls clothes now she has found out she's having a boy 2nd time round so that's amazing 🤩 we'll see what we get and go from there.

@allgoodthings84 also I hope your appointment went well!

I'm feeling the same this week I seemed to have grown an actual bump now!! @Nik84 are you using any sort of support pillow when sleeping?

@laurapalmer22 Thats exciting! Big expense ticked off as well now 😊

Nik84 · 17/04/2023 18:53

@isitaline97 I’ve just ordered a 9ft pregnancy pillow from Amazon 🤞🏻
