That's reminded me, what stroller are people getting or already have got? I'm so overwhelmed by the choice as a FTM, I think I want something relatively lightweight for getting on and off public transport...

@DandelionPockets We are considering buying the Babyzen Yoyo, which is easier for city life, and for travel (we are both from abroad so we regularly travel to visit family)

Moni81 · 18/04/2023 13:08

@DandelionPockets for city life I see lots of people getting bugaboo, I remember those buggies coming into fashion when I first had my girls years ago. The seem functional and you can get them cheaply second hand now. Although I couldn't pass impression that baby is position very low. However maybe there are height adaptors like cybex Priam does. Cybex does beautiful and not bulky prams . I got its first baby GB Maris travel system and absolutely in love. It's not new model, but this one I got literally for £50 barely used. It's worth some marketplace and shpock hunting as often people need to get rid out of buggies fast and sell cheaply. There is no one model fits all, I live in small town countryside, but it's pretty accessible and don't need off terrain lol. It was also important to me that buggy have easy one hand folding mechanism, folds freestanding and slim together with sit so I can keep it in my porch rather than dragging into house. I was initially set on oyster 3, looks like it ticks all the boxes so if I didn't get GB Maris I would definitely keep hunting for this one.

allgoodthings84 · 18/04/2023 13:18

@Moni81 we looked at the oyster 3 too as it was my original choice but when we tried it out the 2 different cybex’s we tried were much better.

@DandelionPockets Cybex fold up pretty small too compared to a lot and are really light and easy to manoeuvre. I’ve heard a lot of people rave about the yoyo who use buses and are in the city a lot. I live in a town and will walk most places so I wanted an easy to push system. The cybex model we went for does off terrain as well as street walking but it wasn’t a factor for us as we won’t use it really off terrain. If you can get to a shop to try some out I strongly recommend it. It helped us loads! I don’t recommend cosatto though for anyone in any situation 😂

DandelionPockets · 18/04/2023 13:38

Thanks all, that's really useful info. I was looking at the babyzen yoyo and it might be right for us. I need to find somewhere I can go and test out some prams I think!

laurapalmer22 · 18/04/2023 13:44

@DandelionPockets We got the Joolz Geo3, not the most lightweight option but weight isn't really a concern for us. We wanted something really sturdy and good for all terrains with good storage. When we tried it, we found it was much smoother to push, turn, etc. especially with one hand, compared to the Bugaboo Fox 5 which was the other option we considered. I agree with @Moni81 that there's no one size fits all!

Moni81 · 18/04/2023 13:54

@DandelionPockets did you by any chance have look at cybex balios. I think that's good compromise, I considered that one too. I was so surprised how solid cybex feels, car seats are very good too. I haven't touched new models but by looking at videos they are top notch, it's German company after all lol.

allgoodthings84 · 18/04/2023 14:57

@DandelionPockets @Moni81 the cybex balios S lux is the one we went for. I was determined to get the cybex cloud Z2 car seat so gave this a go in the shop and it was amazing (for us). I have found cybex car seats to be the best in the 8 years nearly that I’ve had to buy car seats. I wouldn’t get a different brand now. The first ones I bought weren’t cybex but the latest one my daughter has is and it’s brilliant. Their safety testing is second to none. There’s lots of good pushchairs out there it’s just finding the right one for you

DandelionPockets · 18/04/2023 15:43

@Moni81 yes the balios looks great actually and I think ticks all the boxes too. Had a look at a few of the cybex options from your recommendation above.

@allgoodthings84 definitely agree, each person has a pram that suits their needs and might not be the same as the next person! Thanks for the tip on cybex car seats tho, don't have a car atm but I think I need to get one for when the grandmas visit and take the baby out to give us a break!

Had my repeat scan today and all was fine thank god! I’m so relieved, it’s been a bit stressful seeing everyone else on here having good scans and then having to wait an extra three weeks for my own good news (obviously was very happy for everyone else but irrationally felt it must mean something would go wrong for me)

I was having Braxton hicks during the scan, the sonographer pointed it out- can’t feel them at all though!

Hope everyone is feeling ok x

Owlgirl14 · 19/04/2023 23:11

@cinnamonbiscuit Glad your scan went well, you must be so relieved 😊

Picked up my MATB1 form today so guess I'll officially be putting in for maternity leave at work soon. Can't believe I only have just over 3 months left.

Moni81 · 20/04/2023 02:19

@Owlgirl14 I picked up mine today as well. Plan to stop working after 20th of July and use majority of my holiday. I work 4 on 4 off so it willbe nice stretch before my due date on 1st of September.
To be honest I don't even know how I manage to full term, baby is constantly dancing on my bladder and after bit of walking, shopping etc my lower belly is so sore I just run from toilet to toilet lol ...oh and already started to waddle. Still in size 8-10 maternity but my belly is getting huge already, dread to think how i end up 😬

isitaline97 · 20/04/2023 22:34

@cinnamonbiscuit glad your scan went well! 🥰

@Moni81 I'm glad it's not just me! Sometimes I suddenly just need to pee so bad 😂 I presume it's baby kicking about down there too 😂

Those of us with anterior placentas how have you been getting on with kicks/movements? I've definitely been feeling a lot of 'bubbly' feelings down there the last few days, often at night when I'm on the couch relaxing, I'm sure this is baby now which is exciting 🥰

cinnamonbiscuit · 21/04/2023 09:24

@isitaline97 thanks! I’ve got anterior placenta as well and I’m now feeling a lot of kicks, but nothing really at the front, it’s all down by my cervix/bladder and at the sides. I’m 23 weeks now, a week ago I still wasn’t feeling movement consistently every day but now it’s very consistent!

Londongirl87 · 21/04/2023 10:18

I also have an anterior placenta and I have been feeling kicks since a couple of weeks ago. Since the last few days, I can also see them from the outside and my boyfriend has been able to feel them too which is so nice.

I can only feel them when they are low though (my placenta is anterior and high) so there are days where I don’t feel anything

DandelionPockets · 21/04/2023 10:24

@cinnamonbiscuit glad to hear your scan went well!

OP posts:
DandelionPockets · 21/04/2023 10:27

I'm in the anterior placenta club too. I can feel more now this week, I'm 21+2. Mainly when lying on my side, just flutters and like small muscle spasm type feelings. Quite obviously the baby now though, about a week ago I still wasn't sure!

OP posts:
isitaline97 · 21/04/2023 11:12

@cinnamonbiscuit aah that's reassuring I'm 21 + 1 so I'll hopefully feel more soon, there's no real consistency to mine yet but it's definitely there 😊

@DandelionPockets I feel them when I lay on my side too. Me and my fiancé have taken to playing some video games on the playstation recently, and when I've got a forward lean on playing an intense game I seem to always feel it then! 😂 again down below quite often, never in the middle.

@Londongirl87 that's so exciting! I can't wait until mine are visible to others.

Glad to see we all have quite similar experiences it's very reassuring.

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 13:33

@isitaline97 anterior here too and I’ve been feeling little kicks since 18 weeks but it’s not my first so I may not have realised at first what the feeling was if it was my first. I’m now 21+6 and feel her every day mostly in the evenings. I feel her on and off throughout the day but as I’m so busy at work I don’t really notice it most of the time. I know I will do in a few weeks though 😂. The kicks are stronger when I’m just laying down on the bed.

allgoodthings84 · 21/04/2023 16:18

I know my baby girls birthday (all being well) 😮! I got my c section date through the post today. I’m shocked as I was told at my appointment on Monday that I would find out the date at 32 weeks so wasn’t expecting it yet

laurapalmer22 · 21/04/2023 17:31

Fellow anterior! I started feeling flutters 3 weeks ago and they became daily quite quickly. And then about 1 week ago I started feeling noticeable kicks and even hiccups as well. Baby started kicking/dancing to one of my favourite songs last night, it was amazing. Some days they're more active than others, but I generally feel them in the afternoon when I'm sitting down and relaxing. Like now!

laurapalmer22 · 21/04/2023 17:49

And I'm 22 weeks tomorrow.

Moni81 · 21/04/2023 18:49

I don't have anterior placenta but it was long time since last pregnancy so didn't quite remember when it all started before. This time I started to feel proper movements, kicks at 17 weeks, 21 weeks now and she can get very strong at times, even got couple of kicks that literally hurt me to the point I jumped. Often getting more active after I eat.

isitaline97 · 22/04/2023 21:03

so lovely to read about all your movements, sounds like we're all on a similar track which is good to hear! Adorable feeling hiccups too! 🥰 I'm definitely starting to feel heavier down there, I'm in the bath right now and can feel her kicking too 😂

@allgoodthings84 oh wow that's unexpected then! I bet it's really surreal to have an actual countdown to work towards, very exciting :)

allgoodthings84 · 22/04/2023 22:06

@isitaline97 it’s very surreal knowing the date. My daughter was 8 days late and I didn’t feel even close until my waters broke the day before so had no idea when she was coming. I kind of liked not knowing when but have to say I do like the convenience of when I need to sort childcare for especially as it’s the summer holidays and that’s one of my weeks off with her usually anyway and her dad has already booked his weeks with her and paid for things (my ex husband).
