Thank you for your advice ladies I will ask at my 20 week scan!

@AfterBathingAtBaxters yes I agree with you on the lower dose of lactulose I will have half as much if I need it again 😅

@cinnamonbiscuit amazing news 🥰 and congratulations on your little girl! When will you have your re-scan? At least you get to have another look at her! 🩷

cinnamonbiscuit · 31/03/2023 12:39

@AfterBathingAtBaxters @DandelionPockets @isitaline97 thank you!!
I think the sonographer said in a couple of weeks. In my last pregnancy I think I was scanned again around 23 weeks or so. I guess they just don’t have the time to keep trying to get the images! Once we know the heart is ok I will fully relax 😅my brain is still trying to find things to be anxious about!

cinnamonbiscuit · 31/03/2023 12:40

@laurapalmer22 I’m also having a hard time deciding if it’s ligaments or indigestion! Just an annoying ache at the bottom of my bump all the time!

I'm sure you've nothing to worry about but I know exactly how you feel! I ended up going for a private scan today 😅

I was feeling pretty unwell yesterday and getting some serious vertigo which I've never had before. I'm sure it was to do with all the extra blood we have but anxiety took over and I managed to go and get one today, luckily I found somewhere local doing a special offer!

Baby is all good, they do a check over of the heart, lungs, brain etc although not as thorough of the NHS scan but it's given me some peace of mind for now 🥰 we've got the sex written down in an envelope as well but not going to reveal it until my family gets together in a couple of weeks, that's gunna be difficult 😅

I've also joined anterior placenta club!

laurapalmer22 · 31/03/2023 20:47

@cinnamonbiscuit Haha, glad it's not just me.

That said, I felt unmistakable movements today for the first time! 18+6 today. Several minutes of intermittent bubbles and twitches, and I could also see faint twitching on the bump from the outside. My partner was here and could see it too. 🥰

It's been lovely following everyones journey since Xmas but sadly mine has come to an end, what should of been a happy day at my gender scan turned out to be my worst nightmare no heartbeat.
Absolutely heartbroken

cinnamonbiscuit · 01/04/2023 12:40

@surprise87 so sorry to hear this, there are no words really. I know things must be absolutely awful at the moment, I hope you can rest and please go easy on yourself so you can process this awful news. I’m heartbroken for you x

Preggobelly · 01/04/2023 12:42

@surprise87 I am so, so sorry. There really is nothing that will make you feel remotely better but we are all thinking of you. I’m so sorry xx

laurapalmer22 · 01/04/2023 13:06

How is everyone feeling this week? I know a few of you were still feeling a bit anxious last week about movements and upcoming scans, hope you were able to enjoy the weekend.

OP posts:
cinnamonbiscuit · 03/04/2023 13:50

@DandelionPockets I’m doing ok thanks, have been feeling what I’m sure are movements on and off. Now that I know I have an anterior placenta I’m less worried!

How are you doing?

Londongirl87 · 03/04/2023 14:35

Still worried here. I felt like I was having pretty regular movement for around 10 days but pretty much nothing since last Thursday. I called the hospital and they told me that it is normal (I am 19 weeks) and not to worry.

I have a cervix length scan on Wednesday so hopefully will be reassured since the consultant always lets us see the baby during these scans.

The last one was at 16 weeks and everything was fine

cinnamonbiscuit · 03/04/2023 15:25

@Londongirl87 I was you last week- I had no movement for days but I really think that is normal around 19 weeks. I know that doesn’t help much when all you want is the reassurance of feeling it though!

DandelionPockets · 03/04/2023 15:52

@cinnamonbiscuit I'm alright, trying not to think about the next 8 days waiting for my scan! Suddenly seem to be able to eat everything again, no more aversions which is good as I was starting to get fed up of the plain meals I was eating.

@Londongirl87 it is difficult atm with not being sure of movements and not feeling anything consistently. Hope all goes well on wednesday.

Baby still sleep a lot in womb. Past week i could feel kicks various times of day. It's very low down and still a bit of game when and if you feel it. Once I wanted my daughter to feel baby but by the time she came movements stopped lol. Also you may miss it, if it happens at night during sleep or like me working nights and often asleep during day. It's my third pregnancy but proper kicks and movements I started to feel only after 17 week mark, I think it happens when baby muscles get stronger.

Other than that on funny note , I normally don't suffer from sickness on this pregnancy unless something disagree with my stomach. Until now I could only drink black tea and was put off by coffee. However recently I started to vomit after drinking tea....literally bringing back the whole lot of cup 😁and started to fancy coffee again. I like strong coffee flavour so just mix little bit of normal coffee with decaf so don't overdo on cofeine. It's funny this one as with previous pregnancies I couldn't stand smell and taste of coffee all the way.

Preggobelly · 03/04/2023 17:01

It’s nerve wracking waiting for the scan isn’t it? I still have 3 weeks to wait as my 20 week scan isn’t until 21 weeks 😢

Owlgirl14 · 03/04/2023 18:44

@DandelionPockets I'm ok thanks, have my 20 week scan tomorrow so looking forward to that. Can't believe I'm nearly half way there already!

Not really feeling movements either but I have an anterior placenta so not too worried at this stage. It looks really thick on my 16 week gender scan so can understand why as she is kicking that!

Ally345 · 03/04/2023 20:07

@Preggobelly I am the same, just 18 weeks now and scan is not until 21.5 weeks.
Haven’t felt any movements yet but trying to let go and hope all ok

Have developed itching all over (severe enough that I am itching to the point of bleeding) which is driving me insane; but hoping it might calm down. GP said likely just hormonal.

Preggobelly · 03/04/2023 20:50

@Ally345 that extra week/week and a half really does make a difference doesn’t it? I hope it goes in quick for you 💛 I’ve felt flutters which I think is the baby based on what others have described but I can’t be sure. It may be wishful thinking!

Have you got a rash or is your skin just itchy?

allgoodthings84 · 03/04/2023 20:56

All ok here I think. I’ve got my scan Thursday next week when I’m 20+5 weeks. I’ve got an anterior placenta and do feel a few little kicks and movements in the evenings (most evenings not all) but it’s not my first. With my first (also anterior placenta) I didn’t feel anything until after my 20 week scan. Can’t remember exactly how many weeks when I did feel her but I know it was after my 20 weeks scan which was done at exactly 20 weeks on New Year’s Eve! I reckon was at least a week
or 2 later.

I have an appointment booked at a local baby shop on the afternoon after my scan (and after work) to order the pram, car seat & base, crib, changing bag, changing mat and other bits and pieces we want. We went to a taster evening last week where you get 10% off purchases but we don’t want to order anything until after the scan but the lady agreed if we book in after the scan we can still get the discount. It was lovely looking around and trying the prams out. I already knew which one I wanted but I wanted to see it in person and try it out first. I didn’t know it was going to be in the showroom as it isn’t on their website so that was a bonus.
