Thanks everyone, glad to know I'm not the only one - the anxiety definitely doesn't stop after the first trimester it seems!

allgoodthings84 · 19/03/2023 21:26

@Mortima I can confirm it doesn’t stop even once the baby is here 😂

I had my private gender scan today and it’s a little girl. Complete opposite to what everyone guessed with the nub theory by my 12 weeks scan!

JDR97 · 20/03/2023 13:01

I hope everyone had a lovely mother's day!💐

Is anyone expectig twins too?,I'm due 16th September. I'm definitely getting a belly and im only 14 weeks but this is my second pregnancy.

Excited is a understatement!!!💖😁

DandelionPockets · 20/03/2023 14:11

Happy mother's day for yesterday everyone!

How is everyone feeling? Hope you're all managing to get enough rest. Countdown to the 20week scans is still on 22 days for me 😂

allgoodthings84 · 20/03/2023 15:00

@DandelionPockets what’s rest? My busiest time of the year at work and my 7 year old going through an early “teenage” period so no rest here just stress 😂

24 days until my 20 weeks scan but I’ll be nearly 21 weeks then. It will fly by I’m so busy at work though

DandelionPockets · 20/03/2023 15:24

@allgoodthings84 awww no 😂 and here I am with my feet up drinking a cup of (decaf) tea. Hope you're not finding it too tough tho!

Is anyone else's belly really itchy?! Mine's been itching a lot the past few weeks, must be all that growing and stretching. No linea nigra or stretch marks yet.

ILookAtTheFloor · 21/03/2023 18:36

My boobs are the really itchy thing! No itchy tummy and I'm very much showing. I didn't get any stretch marks with my previous two pregnancies so hopefully the trend continues! I do get Linea Nigra so let's see if I get it this time, no sign yet.

sommeliermama · 21/03/2023 18:48

@laurapalmer22 I have been very itchy the past few weeks! Skin is definitely starting to stretch and get tighter, although no stretch marks yet (I'm 18 weeks). Just purchased some high purity aloe vera gel which I put on before my bio oil and it has helped

laurapalmer22 · 22/03/2023 09:04

Gel and oil is a good idea! I might head out and buy some Palmer's cocoa butter today, love that stuff.

Moni81 · 22/03/2023 09:36

Any moisturising cream, lotion may help, some swear by anti stretch marks oil. However ultimately it all depend on skin individually. Some women will have stretch marks no matter what they apply. Luckily I haven't had any with my previous pregnancies, but will see how my skin behaves now at 42.

Moni81 · 22/03/2023 19:59

I had my 16 weeks midwife appointment today, she just checked my blood pressure, asked couple of questions and had to take more blood as one of my blood samples was misplaced and not tested lol. Other than that just booked whooping cough vaccine and apparently I'm going to have 3 extra scans to check baby growth and placenta blood flow at 32, 36 and 39 weeks plus some consultant appointments too.

Nik84 · 22/03/2023 20:53

@Moni81 when is your vaccine booked for? I wasn’t offered it at my 16 week appointment.

laurapalmer22 · 22/03/2023 21:35

Had my 16-week appointment yesterday as well: my antenatal clinic doesn't offer the whooping cough vaccine but they told me to book it via my GP, so I just did that. Booked mine for when I'm 23 weeks.

allgoodthings84 · 22/03/2023 21:55

@Nik84 when I was at my 12 week scan I overheard people who were there for their 20 weeks scan being offered the whooping cough vaccine there and then so I’ll probably get mine when I go to my scan. If not you can ring your GP and just book it there. That’s what I did when I was pregnant with my daughter.

Moni81 · 22/03/2023 22:40

I see my midwife at GP practice so I booked it at reception straight away. It can be taken any time after 16 weeks, I will have mine week before 20 weeks scan.

Nik84 · 22/03/2023 22:42

@allgoodthings84 thanks, I had a quick look online and it seems a lot of women get it at their 20 week scan. I had my flu at 12 weeks so guessing I’ll get whooping cough at 20. Who is having/had their covid vaccine booster? I was cautious about it due to the timing of my last loss and having the vaccine in early pregnancy so my midwife said to wait until after 20 weeks when I know the baby is strong and everything is as it should be. She said after 28 weeks catching covid can be serious for mother and baby so strongly advised me to have it.

Nik84 · 22/03/2023 22:43

@Moni81 i might check with my GP and see what they say, thanks.

cinnamonbiscuit · 22/03/2023 22:50

I’ve just tested positive for covid 😟 anyone else? I’m sure someone else said they had it but I can’t find it! Not feeling too bad but slightly anxious as still can’t feel very much movement. Just feeling fed up tbh! How is everyone else doing?

Ally345 · 22/03/2023 23:25

@cinnamonbiscuit I had it 2 weeks ago (really seems to be spiking up again all of a sudden).

Took me out like a flu for a few days but thankfully ally fine (I was v worried as was hospitalised with it last year but thankfully was okay this time). If you can find my post last week to @Nik84, have some points in there with some advice from GP.

Hope it passes soon for you x

Nik84 · 22/03/2023 23:31

@cinnamonbiscuit I had it recently and was so worried. It was like a head cold and sore throat for a couple of days and I was absolutely fine x

cinnamonbiscuit · 23/03/2023 09:25

@Ally345 so glad you were not as ill this time around, that must have been scary! Will have a look for that post, thanks!
@Nik84 glad it wasn’t too bad for you! I do feel quite rough but similar probably to when I had it the first time.

Nik84 · 24/03/2023 20:15

I’ve started feeling some very gentle rolling movements today at 17+4 with an anterior placenta 💕 So relieved to feel baby!

laurapalmer22 · 24/03/2023 21:53

@Nik84 Exciting! I have an anterior placenta too but haven't felt anything that's definitely movements yet. First timer so maybe I just don't know what they feel like.

Nik84 · 24/03/2023 23:01

@laurapalmer22 it’s my third so I recognise the feeling, although I won’t lie sometime it’s hard to tell the difference between baby and has to start with 😅
