@allgoodthings84 Thanks for the advice, I was planning to wait until after the 20 week scan but finding out the gender helped and we bought a few little outfits which was nice.

Plan on getting what we can second hand as they grow up so quickly x

Moni81 · 12/03/2023 01:34

@Owlgirl14 congratulations on your gender findings. Girls rock, I have 2 big sisters and grown up stepsister for this bean. I have feeling it will be another girl lol
This time it's mostly second hand shopping for me. I already bought full travel system Cybex GB Maris, gliding crib and mamas&papas starlite swing. All in very good condition and for less than £100 total 🙈 I highly recommend shpock or marketplace, baby stuff can be very expensive and loose value fast, so you will never even get back half price for it. Vinted is great for clothes, lots of new or barely used items for fraction of price, babies grow fast.

DandelionPockets · 12/03/2023 10:04

@Rainbowmamma23 great news on your nipt results ☺️

@Owlgirl14 congratulations 💗 how exciting!

I was thinking i'll probably wait until the 20week NHS scan for gender reveal (if they can do it there), although another 4 weeks seems so long before seeing the baby again.. Got my 16 week appointment on Tuesday so maybe after that I'll be too impatient to wait and book a private one in.

All symptoms have now gone apart from getting really tired at about 6pm every day, going to sleep at 8pm! Anyone else, or are you finding your energy returning now?

Also, my belly just seems to have gone for it now. I feel I look really pregnant all of a sudden!!

every 2-3 weeks I wake up with red blood snot in my nose (gross I know) but today I woke up just 10 minutes before my alarm went off with a full on nosebleed. I had a couple right at the beginning and seems it’s back. I know it’s a pregnancy thing and I get nosebleeds a couple times a year anyway but usually only when I have a really bad head cold and I don’t so I know it’s pregnancy related which funnily enough is kind of a relief as my only symptom I’ve had lately

Moni81 · 13/03/2023 13:30

@allgoodthings84 I have stuffy nose all the time, it dries up constantly with bloody bits in it and I'm not sick. I guess it's pregnancy thing plus I take aspirin so maybe it's side effect.

allgoodthings84 · 13/03/2023 15:36

@Moni81 I’ve not got the stuffy nose. I’ve heard that’s a pregnancy thing too. Just the bloody snot and sometime bleeding nose. I don’t take aspirin so think it’s just something that happens to some people when pregnant. I can’t remember if I did with my daughter or not, too long ago 😂

allgoodthings84 · 13/03/2023 15:36

@Moni81 as in dried bloody snot just when I first wake up

Nik84 · 13/03/2023 17:38

I’ve been worried since yesterday as I’m getting aches/mild cramps low down similar to period pains. I’ve had it quite a bit this pregnancy but it had stopped for a few weeks. Now it’s come back and I’m expecting the worst. I’m 16+1, anyone else having similar?

allgoodthings84 · 13/03/2023 19:01

@Nik84 I do every so often for 20 mins or so and been told it’s completely normal only a concern if it’s unbearable pain or doesn’t go away. Speak to your midwife if you’re worried though definitely.

I just had my 16 week appointment (by phone). All my bloods were fine and she said to ring anytime I’m worried and she will try and book me in with her the following week to hear the heartbeat to put my mind at ease. I’ll definitely only do it if I’m really worried though as don’t want to cry wolf and it’s half hour away.

Nik84 · 13/03/2023 19:06

Thanks @allgoodthings84 mine are pretty constant lasting for a few days. I have my 16 week appointment on Wednesday so I’ll bring it up. The pain isn’t unbearable but it’s obvious.

cinnamonbiscuit · 13/03/2023 19:48

@Nik84 I’ve been having this as well, it feels like my period is about to start! I think I had this with first pregnancy as well and I put it down to things stretching. Doesn’t make it less stressful though!

Nik84 · 13/03/2023 20:29

@cinnamonbiscuit yes my logical side tells me it’s stretching pains but my anxious side is winning at the moment. I’m glad others are experiencing the same, makes me feel more at ease xx

Owlgirl14 · 14/03/2023 07:46

@Nik84 I'm the opposite, not had many growing pains even though I'm getting bigger. If I have they have been low down, generally on the left side. I've been putting bio oil on most days so that may be helping.

I must be one of the few people too that hasn't really seen any breast growth. I keep reading you should be 1-2 cup sizes up but nope! Guess we're all different and will experience different symptoms.

Got my 16 week midwife app tomorrow when I'll be 17 weeks as they put me ahead 6 days at my 12 week scan.

allgoodthings84 · 14/03/2023 12:45

I’ve not had sore boobs since 11 weeks but yesterday my nipples were on fire all day and went even darker but today they went back to how they have been for last 5/6 weeks. So random. Also, today I’m feeling really bloated for the first time.

Had my 16 week appointment this morning face-to-face with the midwife. It was really quick in and out. They tested my wee, took my BP, and booked in the next appointment. Next thing is the 20week scan in 4 weeks. Hope the time flies!

Owlgirl14 · 14/03/2023 14:49

@DandelionPockets Wow that does sound quick. Did they talk through your tests from your first appointment. I got told mine would be half an hour and it seems different trusts do different things as heard some check for the heart beat and others don't.

DandelionPockets · 14/03/2023 14:55

@Owlgirl14 she just said she'd looked at everything from the 12 week scan and it all looked fine and low risk in everything. But didn't go into detail, I guess because there wasn't really anything to talk about. I've also got results on my Tommy app that my trust does which means I already knew that ..so no really questions from me at this point.

On the heartbeat, she said point blank that she does not do it in this appointment. I didn't ask, but tbh I would rather not at 16 weeks incase she couldn't find it and I'd be worried for weeks.

Finally have something to contribute to the thread!

Had my 12 week scan yesterday (dated me at 12 weeks 3 days) which gives me a due date of 22nd September :)

Does anybody wanna play guess the boy/girl?

Also, are they sticking their tongue out on the first one?! Cheeky!

Hope you all are doing well :)

@DandelionPockets thanks, I don't expect my appointment to take too long tomorrow then.

We had a private gender scan on Saturday and all was looking well so it doesn't matter too much if they don't check the heartbeat. I've read it can cause a lot of anxiety as they can't always find it that easily so maybe why a lot of them don't do it now.

20 week scan is in 3 weeks so that will be the next big hurdle and half way there would you believe!

Owlgirl14 · 14/03/2023 16:33

@OrganicAlchemy Congrats on the 12 week scan!

Unfortunately can't help with the boy/girl, tried to look at mine and even posted in groups but got told no nub could be seen.

Went for a private gender scan at the weekend though and found out we're having a girl 💖

Nik84 · 14/03/2023 16:56

@OrganicAlchemy lovely scan photos and they are definitely sticking their tongue out! How cute ☺️

cinnamonbiscuit · 14/03/2023 17:46

Have finally started feeling some consistent movement today and yesterday! Such a relief after the stress of last week! Hope everyone is feeling ok x

DandelionPockets · 14/03/2023 18:29

@OrganicAlchemy great pictures! congratulations ❤️

@cinnamonbiscuit I really can't tell if the bubbly feelings are the baby moving or just my own bodily movements. What do yours feel like?

Nik84 · 14/03/2023 19:05

@cinnamonbiscuit aww great news! I’ve been having flutters but can’t be sure if it’s baby or gas at the moment 😅 I have an anterior placenta, which worried me until I dug out my paperwork from my 2 girls and I had anterior placentas with them too, I felt movement fine! So I’m less bothered by it now 😁
