@DrinkingAllTheGin I know! It'll come quick. Monitoring is all fine for baby but because my brown bleeding is now pink and red again they won't let me go home. They said it's on the cervix opening but cervix closed. I'm hoping it'll be gone tomorrow and I can go home. Doctor hasn't seen me since this morning and it's midwife who said they probably won't let me go. No clue what's happening. DH just dropped off my ear plugs and my good pillow though so I'm looking forward to a better night tonight. Miss DD though. I think they are worrying bleeding will get heavier and I'll start contractions but I feel fine. It's not too hot in the hospital but I bloody sweat just sitting here doing nothing! DD has dropped me off a teddy of hers to cuddle and think of her.

Word of warning all, get your hospital bags ready early just in case!

hannahplym · 27/03/2023 19:18

Hi all :)

My due date is 9th June and the past few weeks I've been experiencing pain under my right rib. Feels like a stabbing/pinching which gets worse on standing/walking. I'm fairly confident it's nothing serious, and they checked for pre eclampsia when I went in for reduced movements last week.
They also scanned me and baby isn't quite kicking up there yet...

Just wondered if anyone has had similar pain and if any tips, or is it just a ride it out for the last couple months!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 27/03/2023 19:31

@hannahplym I have the same pain since 18 weeks. Last pregnancy was from 22 weeks. My last pregnancy did turn into preeclampsia suddenly at 36 weeks but doesn't mean to say it will this time. My placenta is jammed under my ribs which is where my pain is according to midwife and consultant. Just make sure they keep checking your urine and blood pressure and look out for swelling, headaches and sickness. If your worried ring assessment unit to go in.

For managing it I find lifting your arms above your head like holding onto the top of a door frame and stretching your ribs up away from uterus does help a bit to ease it. I feel your pain though, quite literally. It only sorted out last time when my baby was delivered.

AngelBlue12 · 27/03/2023 20:15

I had a call from a midwife today, despite taking pregnacare and 305mg extra iron my levels have dropped from 10.6 to 10.3 so she said to take an extra iron in the morning and to get my b12 checked as low levels could be stopping me absorbing the iron.

hannahplym · 27/03/2023 21:03

@BellaTheDarkOverlord oh I'm sorry you've suffered this in both pregnancies. This is my first pregnancy and this pain doesn't show any sign of easing. Great tip though thanks, I'll give that a go! And yep I'll be sure to keep an eye on my blood pressure. Thankfully no other symptoms so far 🤞

I hope you're out of hospital soon. I spent last Sunday night in hospital due to reduced movements/deceleration (all resolved itself thank goodness) and I can totally relate to the sweatiness!

Zaalfruit · 28/03/2023 05:47

@BellaTheDarkOverlord hope you are okay!
After you get sent home will they monitor you?

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 28/03/2023 07:42

@hannahplym @ZaalfruitI hope I am too. They said to monitor myself for bleeding when I get out and come back if it gets red and heavy or contractions. Not had red since lunchtime yesterday so hoping they release me today. Consultant seemed happy but midwife said I had to stay. Had a much better sleep last night with my own pillow and ear plugs though.

AstroH · 28/03/2023 22:14

@BellaTheDarkOverlord thinking of you! Hope you get to go home soon and things improve. Will get getting the hospital bag ready this week just in case!

@hannahplym sorry to hear about your troubles. I’ve had dull rib pain, sort of like a strain, since about 16 weeks. No one knows why. It gets worse as the day progresses and sitting in a (desk) chair really aggravates it. Putting my right arm behind my head like a half yoga stretch helps a bit but the best thing is lying down at a certain angle and sleeping! Have been signed off work as it’s making my job almost impossible! It also tends to spread into my shoulder by the evening. Hoping it goes away after delivery. Got it all checked out back in January, they did lots of checks incl chest X-ray which put minds at rest, so maybe go get it checked, they took me very seriously.

Had a 3D scan today. Baby is all growing well and looking good. Pics nowhere near as good as @firsttimelondonmummy but did bring a tear to my eye seeing them with such a cute real baby face. 9 more weeks to wait until we get to meet them!

@AstroH what?! This is AMAZING 😭❤️ what a CUTIE 🥹

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 28/03/2023 22:51

@AstroH Thanks I've been released. So tired. They said keep an eye on the bleeding and come back if it's red again. If I get any feeling of tightening or contractions to go back. The bleeding is at entrance of my cervix but cervix closed..it's soft apparently but consultant said not worried. It looks to have all the signs of a "bloody show" to be honest. Consultant is referring me to another hospital in the next week who have more placenta experience as he wants to check my placenta for accreta and he couldn't be sure from his scanning. He said we might not even know if it's accreta until they are literally taking baby out. Just prepare for worst.

Definitely getting hospital bag ready. It'll have to be a smallish suitcase though as I need my home pillow with me. Was a god send.

Your scan is so cute! DH still won't get a 3d/4d as he's worried it'll be an alien again 😂

Zaalfruit · 29/03/2023 13:17

@AstroH thats a great pic!! Really cute nose !

@BellaTheDarkOverlord ahh glad you have been released - back to the comfort of home. Deffo safe to pack your bag just incase.

( In the May group I saw a baby was born 5 weeks early !)

Belami · 29/03/2023 16:05

Hope you're okay @BellaTheDarkOverlord!! How scary, bless you ♥️

@AstroH beautiful scan 🥺 I'm a bit nervous for ours ...don't know why!!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 29/03/2023 16:45

Thanks all x Got a placenta scan come through today for Wednesday which hopefully may show better view of placenta. It's at Leeds so better hospital perhaps. Consultant said they have more experience on placenta scans.

Got my suitcase out packing it as my other bag definitely not big enough. Want to get a pack of tiny baby footless sleepsuits too with some tiny socks. Got loads to do around house though still!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 29/03/2023 17:02

Feeling a bit emotional this evening. I have been a cub leader for 20+ years. Tonight is my last meeting as Akela before bubs comes. I hope to be back at Christmas time but still. I won't know what to do with my Wednesday evenings.

ImHopeful2023 · 29/03/2023 18:46

Glad you are home @BellaTheDarkOverlord

DrinkingAllTheGin · 29/03/2023 22:33

Look what they gave me. I may have shed a tear or 2!

That's so cute @DrinkingAllTheGin !! That's so sweet of them 🥰

I think they're are a few of us that are 28 weeks today, officially in the third trimester!

PurBal · 30/03/2023 08:40

In other threads I’ve seen there be a due date list. Can include the sex if you know it. Anyone else interested in starting one here? It’s also a good list to copy given we’re at over 900 replies now! Like so:
12/6 @PurBal boy

HasHus86 · 30/03/2023 09:04

@PurBal I think that’s a great idea!

Kelvie103 · 30/03/2023 09:43

I like that idea too. I like following what everyone's up to but have no chance of keeping track of when everyone's due!

@AstroH gorgeous picture. It's amazing how much detail you can see now. I have mine booked for Easter Sunday. Partly nervous to see baby and partly can't wait.

PurBal · 30/03/2023 11:05

I've quickly scanned this thread (and the previous one when we were talking 12 week scans) for due dates, let me know if I've made a mistake (or if having a ELCS would prefer me to use that date). Also let me know if you want me to add on the sex (I added on some). Sorry if I missed anyone! Equally if don't want to be included please say (PM me if you prefer).
