Hi ladies, is there a Facebook group yet? I find that much easier to follow! :-) Due 3rd June with #3

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 24/01/2023 09:11

I'm struggling with names! I've no clue and been through so many names and can't decide. At this rate she'll have no name when she's born 😂

B1993 · 24/01/2023 09:40

Hi all, just jumping on from the last thread.

@C1umsyGiraffe, I'm in a very similar position re weddings. This baby is due 3/6/23 and my sisters wedding is 1/7/23! DS is in the wedding party too as a page boy so lots to organise with that as well. We're a few hours away so will also have a hotel room. Unfortunately DSis' venue doesn't have on site accommodation so I think she's organising another hotel and transport which means aren't able to sneak off easily if needed.

I like the idea of newborn ear defenders so may look into this 😊Is there a particular brand that anyone can recommend?

In other news, I had to leave work yesterday as I got a sickness bug!🤢 😭 I think I'm just about starting to feel better and getting my appetite back, thankfully!

Katie2021 · 24/01/2023 10:11

Had my 20 week scan yesterday 🥰 I loved it! It was much longer than the 12 week one so I got a longer look at her wriggling and stretching about much more in depth 💗

aww and you can actually see her little face on the scan 🥺💗 can’t wait to meet her! Good luck to everyone else with their 20 week scans! Ask loads of questions so you get to look for longer 😂

my sickness has only just started to get better at 21 weeks 🙏🏻 Let’s hope it stays away for the rest of pregnancy!

I’ve been feeling more kicks the past few days! When I went to my scan i could feel her kicking again and turns out it wasn’t her feet she’s actually punching me in the bladder 😂 that’s why I keep needing a wee haha x x x x

Oh wow! A lot more involved than I'll be, if you think of/get told of anything else that you think will help let me know. Good luck with it, I'm sure it'll be amazing! My friends with babies just say it'll be easier with a one month old than a 6 month old 😂

ImHopeful2023 · 24/01/2023 10:46

Hi all just wondering has anyone else a high white cell couldn't mine is 11.4 and with two previous miscarriages this has me worried

Happinessandrainbows · 24/01/2023 10:57

Congratulations to everyone on their 20 week scans! My one is next week and I'm so anxious, we haven't told people about the pregnancy yet. While the previous two didn't reach the second trimester and I'm 18 weeks with the current one which is a good sign, it's stil so hard to relax 😔 I am however, looking forward to the scan to get some more reassurance and excited to start telling people in a few weeks time.

Hlc86 · 24/01/2023 11:35

@Zaalfruit thank you for the tag! Glad I found you all

Re names if we was having a boy then it would have been Arthur William and for a girl it's matilda (tilly or tilda for short) I like classic names also, I did love Charlotte but there is so so many about now

dresslol · 24/01/2023 11:35

@firsttimelondonmummy love the name, amazing that you’ve made a decision already, I’m faffing a bit but there’s a front runner. My partner has been flippin’ useless at name suggestions! But fortunately is persuadable!
Congrats to all on their 20 week scans, mine is on Friday which is nearly 21 weeks, I’ve just gone ahead and got clothes and a pushchair already, hope it wasn’t too reckless of me.
Wishing everyone with scans coming up this week the best of luck.
Does anyone have plans to attend NCT classes or something similar? I don’t know anyone who is pregnant and was hoping to connect with people locally.

C1umsyGiraffe · 24/01/2023 11:53

@dresslol were going to. DH has some experience with babies but I have absolutely none, so mainly for my piece of mind 😂 I think we're going to go with BambinoClub, it's a local one to us that's run completely by midwives :)

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/01/2023 14:22

@dresslol ah thank you! 😊
I’m an organisational freak and so had to have it down early 😂
I bought my cot and pram before my anatomy scan.
I really don’t believe in jinxing it if anything I think, thinking positively and buying stuff is a great thing.
Also we are doing bump & baby purely for the fact I’ve never changed a nappy 🤣 (DP has way more experience than me with little siblings).
No long term friendships to be forged for us sadly as hoping to move back up north end of the year all being well.

@Babybaby66 thank you for the name compliment 🥰

@C1umsyGiraffe we just had anatomy on the 19th (privately at 18 weeks) our NHS one is the 2nd 😊

Jumping in as a very sporadic commenter!

Anyone else not bought a thing, or even looked?! I'm waiting till at least the 20 week scan.

Belami · 24/01/2023 15:57

@theblueflowers meeee... we've said we'll get a baby grow tomorrow to celebrate if all goes well.

So nervous!!

Zaalfruit · 24/01/2023 15:57

@theblueflowers was on your wave length last time. I didn’t look or buy anything until the 20 week scan . When is your 20 week scan and are you finding out the gender?

@firsttimelondonmummy You are super organised! Love it . I’m so indecisive with everything.

Belami · 24/01/2023 16:00

Also we're planning on booking onto a b&b or nct after the scan too! Hopefully there will be some spaces left 😬

RedRose36 · 24/01/2023 17:09

I've mainly been lurking on the other three threads so thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm due to have a little boy on the 6th June and had my 20 week scan last Friday. So relieved to say everything was absolutely fine.

I think we've settled on the name Theodore (Theo) but thank you for the podcast recommendation @dresslol I'm definitely going to have a listen

DrinkingAllTheGin · 24/01/2023 17:40

Had a thought that my funny turn yesterday might have been low iron levels.
So this is our dinner tonight!

I'm the same @theblueflowers I have my scan Thursday and all going well will then starty list

Algor1thm · 24/01/2023 17:48

dresslol · 24/01/2023 07:38

Has anyone been listening to the podcast ‘Baby Name Envy’? I thoroughly recommend it. I put it on when I’m doing cleaning or or commuting, it definitely helped me to be clearer about what I did and didn’t want.

Love this podcast and have been a listener for years. Very sad news about Naomi though 😔😔

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/01/2023 18:44

@RedRose36 were Theodore aka Theo 😂 I’m literally dreading how many Theo’s there will be in his class and I got told another nickname for Theodore is teddy which I’m not a fan of

OP posts:
firsttimelondonmummy · 24/01/2023 18:45

@RedRose36 i meant we’ve gone with Theodore aka Theo for our little boy too lol

Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for a while now but have been waiting to get to my 20 week scan (which was today) before introducing myself. It's been so reassuring to read the thread. I'm due on the 10th June with our first baby. It's all starting to feel very real now, especially with finally feeling the baby and more recently it feels like they're having a disco in there!

We've bought quite a few things already but need to find a good breast pump, baby carrier/sling and baby monitor. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?

justbelieve · 24/01/2023 19:14

I feel like my 20 week scan is still so far away, it’s on 7th Feb and I’m getting anxious/impatient because I’m not sure I’ve felt baby move yet.

Are there any FTM that also haven’t felt baby yet? I have an anterior placenta

In happier news, we ordered our pram on Saturday. We went for the Silver Cross Reef and it’s arrived already! I love it and so happy with our choice! Anyone else bought their prams yet?

Glad to have one big ticket item ticked off… the rest of my January list was to clear out the spare room that will be baby’s room and find new homes for all of my crap 🤣

firsttimelondonmummy · 24/01/2023 19:20

@justbelieve we did the Dune! Honestly Silvercross prams are just stunning. We were also thrilled with ours.

I have a posterior placenta, I’m nearly 19 weeks and I still haven’t felt any movement and he was absolutely fine when we saw him during our private anatomy scan last Thursday 🥰
