@Funfamilytimes thats one genius way 😂😂

Zaalfruit · 17/03/2023 07:59

@Kladebs my house is starting to stress me out - my husband hates hoovering so when he does it . He rushes and doesn’t do it the way I like it - same with the bathroom . The toddler has taken over the house - taking full advantage that I’m not feeling well.

justbelieve · 17/03/2023 11:25

Had my GTT this morning. The drink wasn’t as bad as I’d heard it was, but also wasn’t very pleasant 🤣 nervous about the results but trying to stay positive 🤞🏻

Belami · 17/03/2023 13:08

@justbelieve does everyone get one of those tests 👀? Xx

justbelieve · 17/03/2023 13:15

@Belami I don’t think so, I was told at my first midwife appointment that I’d need one as part of my midwife-led care.

2 of my friends also had it when they went in for reduced movements during their pregnancy as a precaution x

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 17/03/2023 14:48

I haven't had GTT. Midwife said I wouldn't need it. Today she took more bloods and checked urine. No protein and blood pressure good which is great. Got a referral letter for ENT clinic today so they said I should hear from them by 22nd March.

Midwife said as I'm going to bottle feed to consider bringing milk to hospital in the ready made cartons as hospital near me have stopped supplying them. I expect I might have a week stay if complications occur so going to look at buying a few packs so I have enough with me. There is a kitchen for making milk from powder there but if I'm kept on the labour ward rather than post labour ward they don't allow the powder. Kendamil brand looks good. Might take a trip to superdrug tomorrow to see what expiration dates the milk has. Getting baby's bag ready. Got some really cute dinosaur bodysuits and muslins from Primark yesterday.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 17/03/2023 22:19

Last night I had a rubbish night's sleep and managed to get a few hours on the sofa. DH is away tonight and tomorrow. Would it be bonkers to just sleep on the sofa tonight? I feel so comfycozy at the moment!

Funfamilytimes · 18/03/2023 12:37

@Kladebs oh yeah! Really use those hormones to your advantage 😉

firsttimelondonmummy · 18/03/2023 13:36

Anyone else feel like they’ve gone a bit overboard with clothes? 😂
We’ve already got 30 outfits from 0-3 months 🤣

We aren’t having a baby shower and I really wanted to have some nice pieces (obsessed with Ando, Another Fox & White Company) so I’ve been doing an outfit or so a week just to stock up and even though I feel like we have a lot I can’t stop myself when I see a cute outfit haha.

He’s also going to be the most neutral child as I’m not a fan of stereotypical ‘boy’ colours 😭😂

@firsttimelondonmummy I'm restraining myself, with difficulty. Not knowing if bubs is a boy or girl helps as I don't want to spend a fortune and then another when bubs is here!
My sister kept all my niece's baby clothes so we have sorted out all the unisex clothes and mum is rewashing the lot. All the pink can wait until we know for sure.

firsttimelondonmummy · 18/03/2023 14:38

@DrinkingAllTheGin I am a beige and white queen so it wouldn’t have helped me even if we had kept his gender a secret 🤦🏻‍♀️
Probably a good thing though as if we do ever decide to have a second everything will work whether or not we have a boy or girl!
I think I’m still missing a fair few of the basics though e.g socks and vests.
It would be good if someone wrote a summer baby essentials 🙏🏻🤣

Zaalfruit · 18/03/2023 14:47

@firsttimelondonmummy I love the baby neutral’s in the wardrobe omg this is my second girl and I still can’t help myself.

Yes please if someone can make a list for summer babies - also newborns can’t wear sunscreen right ? We have to wait till they 6 months old … How do we protect them from the sun? No doubt the 2 year old will want to live in the garden from May till end of September.

PurBal · 19/03/2023 07:01

@Zaalfruit what a gorgeous wardrobe! With DS1 we definitely had bought a lot before 20w and just kept buying. I’m the opposite, I quite like the colours (but not pastels) or plain white. Because we’re having another boy I’ve bought very little: a few vests and a t shirt. I want to get a new going home outfit but I can’t find anything that “wows” me.

@Zaalfruit i have a summer list somewhere and I had a July baby last time so can say what worked for me and didn’t. I’ll look it out later, currently enjoying reading a book about tractors to my eldest for Mothering Sunday. And yes, no sunscreen.

PurBal · 19/03/2023 07:05

@firsttimelondonmummy my first comment above was meant for you, my fault for multitasking 😂

Kelvie103 · 19/03/2023 08:40

@firsttimelondonmummy aww thats a lovely selection. I think I like all the colours for boys. I have a few things in neutral, pale yellow, white and blue so far for my boy. I seem to be going for all things elephant but then I do love elephants. Trying not to buy too much yet though as I'm waiting for the summer stuff to come in the shops but I agree it's so hard when there's so many cute bits around!

@PurBal a summer list would be so useful if you have one, I dont know anyone whos had summer babies so wondering what they wear. I guess it depends on the weather, if its another 40 degree summer they won't be wearing long sleeves but then this being the UK it could be cool and rainy so if its say 23 do they wear long sleeves then?

Zaalfruit · 19/03/2023 09:44

@PurBal yes please a summer list will be appreciated. Last time I found after giving birth - I felt super hot even though it was October . I am hoping this time I don’t feel as hot.

CatsCoffeeChocolate · 19/03/2023 09:49

Hey ladies.
Finally joining in on a thread after stalking you all for months…. 😅
I am due June 25th, no idea as to gender. Been sticking my head in the sand and kind of ignoring the upcoming baby and everything that needs to be done in preparation.
Finally done some shopping on Friday. Ordered our pram and bedside crib. Not done any clothes shopping yet as I’m really struggling to know what the weather will be like.
I’m also a neutral queen like @firsttimelondonmummy so I’m loving the baby clothes picture! 😍
@DrinkingAllTheGin I am also thinking of just buying a few things, white bodysuits and sleepsuits, then doing another little shop when baby is here and I know the gender.
So excited to finally join in on the thread with you all. Hopefully this keeps me motivated enough that I will actually start tackling my never-ending list of things we need to sort in the house before baby arrives.

firsttimelondonmummy · 19/03/2023 10:28

Ah thanks all for the lovely comments 😭❤️ (@Zaalfruit @PurBal @Kelvie103 @CatsCoffeeChocolate)
Also congrats and welcome to the group @CatsCoffeeChocolate
I wondered if I was being a bit boring with all beige but I just couldn’t help it.

Could also do with some help picking a sling! I’m torn between the Artipoppe Zeitgeist in ‘Ying Yang’ or ‘Tweed’.
When I’ve asked family and friends it’s been really 50/50 and so no help at all 😭😂
What do you all think?

@firsttimelondonmummy Thanks. 😁
I would be of no help on the carrier decision. I always go plain and simple. I really love the baby bjorn ones but the price is putting me off buying. My best suggestion is maybe to pick the one that best matches your style of clothing? 😅

DrinkingAllTheGin · 19/03/2023 11:49

I would get one that DH is happy to wear too, ours is a boring navy one.

firsttimelondonmummy · 19/03/2023 13:20

@CatsCoffeeChocolate we would usually go for plain but the black one has arrows on which I hate so I’ve decided this time we will go fancy! 😂
DP is not happy about the price but I’m paying for it so he can suck it up 🤣
Both colours go with our dress sense so it’s impossible to decide haha.

@DrinkingAllTheGin DP is really trendy and doesn’t lack in self confidence so he’s happy with any design as long as it’s not colour as we both wear a lot of beige/ black/ white.
Our dress sense is also pretty similar.
I actually often steal his clothes 😂
We both tend to opt for street wear/ street wear and boho for me which I think both designs would suit.

I've gone for this one. MIL was desperate to buy us something and as we received nearly everything second hand I had to try find something for her to buy. It's so lovely and I've had a go trying it out but bump is in the way 😅

Kelvie103 · 19/03/2023 14:05

Aww I love that sling with the dinosaurs. What make is it? I might have to steal the idea haha!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 19/03/2023 14:10

@Kelvie103 It's Tula. They have other designs but I had to get dinosaur one! DD2 is getting a lot of dinosaur related stuff at the moment as DH and me are both dinosaur lovers. She's got 2 teddies, sleepsuits, body suits, blanket and also towel with dinosaurs on it 😁Primark do a very cute dinosaur range I took advantage of.
