We booked our antenatal classes yesterday, gone with bump and baby club! Anyone else chosen them?

We did Bump and Baby club for our first child. Great choice. Both in terms of classes and ongoing friends etc

C1umsyGiraffe · 06/03/2023 17:11

@Whentwobecomesthree oh that's good to know, thank you!

Happinessandrainbows · 06/03/2023 17:28

Has anyone had what feels like twitches with regular intervals? It went on for couple minutes. Hopefully it was just hiccups!

Belami · 06/03/2023 17:31

@C1umsyGiraffe @Whentwobecomesthree we booked with them too. Ours don't start until mid April though.

I got a text today from the nhs about 0-19 service? Has anyone heard of it? Apparently it's an antenatal group that runs for 6 weeks. Literally the first time I've heard of it!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 06/03/2023 18:32

I'm trying to decide when to start mat leave. I'm likely to be induced at 39 weeks so thinking 37 weeks.

I've also booked a nursing bra fitting at m&s. As I wear an H usually I thought best to get the pros involved.

PurBal · 06/03/2023 19:27

@Belami I think it varies from trust to trust. We get 4 hours over 2 sessions by zoom.

@DrinkingAllTheGin I think 37-38 weeks is a good call. I’ve booked from then too.

Belami · 06/03/2023 19:56

I've preliminary booked my mat leave in for my due date (40 weeks) with a week of annual leave before 😅 ftm so not sure maybe that's short sighted of me to leave it so late but wanted to have as much ML as poss with baby.

My jobs not physical so I think as long as I'm well enough I should be able to continue 🤷‍♀️

Funfamilytimes · 06/03/2023 20:01

Anyone due on the 9th of June? ☺️

positivethoughts1 · 06/03/2023 20:12

@Belami I've done the same. Staring my mat leave at 39+5 and taking 1 week AL so finishing at 38+2. Might be optimistic but same as you I wanted as much time off with baby as I can! I work from home so hoping that will help! Xxx

Yep that's my due date! But I'm booked in for a c-section on the 2nd.

I'm also finishing at 37 and booked in for c-section at 39 and I think 2 weeks to wind down will be just right. Last time I had loads of holidays to use up so finished at 36 weeks and then went nearly 2 weeks overdue, was very bored by the end of it!

Kladebs · 06/03/2023 20:21

@Belami mines been booked to start 2 days before my due date, knowing full well that I'll be having them at least 2 weeks before 🤣
Plan is to just see how long I can go, and take it then

DrinkingAllTheGin · 06/03/2023 21:42

As I'm old (42 at due date) I know I won't go over my DDate. I have some holiday left and currently using it to work 4 day weeks, but I also have enough to take a week off at 36 weeks and start mat leave at 37.
My work is sedentary and pretty close to home but I can't WFH. Hopefully my temp replacement will be at least partially trained by then. If we can choose between 2 not perfect applicants.

dresslol · 06/03/2023 23:41

@Funfamilytimes im due 9th June.

Funfamilytimes · 07/03/2023 08:55

@thedust @dresslol woo! Hello! How are you both feeling? … not long to go now!

LT103 · 07/03/2023 12:52

My job is pretty physical which is become a struggle. My aim is to stop just before 36 weeks. Think we’re having a planned section at 39ekz but undecided.
taking 2 weeks annual leave then may leave. Keeping rest of annual leave to use as a block before coming back. Will just need to see how it all goes. work have been good but may need to cut hours before finishing up.

have had pelvic girdle pain for the last week which has been a struggle. Think I overdid it walking so am now forcing myself to rest and have contacted midwife about referring for physio. Any tips??

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 07/03/2023 16:28

I'm going to try start maternity a week before but take 2 weeks annual leave too prior to that too as my annual leave literally will run restart just as I get back from maternity. I'll see consultant in 2 weeks to discuss ECS so hoping they'll agree and I'll get a date.

I struggled with back pain and the Dr at the Maternity Assessment Unit showed me the phone number for physio in my yellow book, might be different in different places but here you just ring up and refer yourself. Might be helpful rather than waiting for midwife!

LT103 · 07/03/2023 16:48

@C1umsyGiraffe thanks. My midwife is great. Just local health centre so I just text her and she called within the hour. She’s given me the number for physio at my maternity so I’ve left them a message. Hoping I get seen soon to sort it. Don’t want to have to stop work early!

Hlc86 · 07/03/2023 18:04

I'm hoping to start mat leave at 39 weeks then add all my holiday on to the end off it, my job is very physical so it may be a struggle the closer to due date i get, and they have called me in for tests now as keep having the blurred vision and lights, which is now accompanied with a pain in my right side and protein in my wee 🙄 never ending sometimes but want to go as far along as I can cause I know I will get bored and maternity pay is crap from my company

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 08/03/2023 01:36

@Hlc86 I'm glad they are calling you in for tests. It does sound like preeclampsia especially with protein. I made it to 36 weeks last time before I got it. Hope it holds off for you.

ImHopeful2023 · 08/03/2023 06:12

Hi all so I have been having pain low in my belly pubic area center worse when I turn in bed or get up or walk up stairs etc. I spoke to my midwife who didn't sound concerned and called it pelvic pain and when I'm next with my doctor ask for a physio referral anyone else have this I'm 27 weeks pregnant

LT103 · 08/03/2023 06:22

@ImHopeful2023 pelvic girdle pain. exactly what I have and mine has got particularly bad just now. I’ve self referred to maternity hospital for obstetric physio (midwife gave me the number). I’d probably do it sooner rather than later if I was you just in case it gets worse. She said they’ll give me a support belt and exercises to do. I’ve had it the last 3 weeks or so before it got worse this week after overdoing it a bit at weekend so definitely wish I’d referred earlier

Belami · 08/03/2023 08:40

I'm also due 9th June @Funfamilytimes @thedust @dresslol 🤗!!

@LT103 @ImHopeful2023 I'm suffering from what has been described as pgp , mines worse when I walk though , I get these shooting pains up the sides of my bump and sometimes central. Then my lower back just aches for ages. Doesn't happen on every walk, seems really random. This has been happening for at least 6 weeks for me though. Dr referred me to a normal physio who couldn't do anything apart from give me one of those support belts (which just make me need a wee 😩) and then midwife referred me to a specialist obstetrician physio a few weeks ago but still not heard anything back.
