@AngelBlue12 yeah I'm hoping it's that to be honest or they said it could be a water infection even tho I don't feel like I have one, but hoping for the lesser.

Just got back from my 20 week scan, and my placenta has moved from being anterior to being placenta previa, has anyone else had this? I have to go back at 32 weeks to see if it's moved. I was offered an internal scan tonight to definitely make sure but totally freaked out as never had one before so I said no and now feel like a fool, but it put me on the spot and it didn't help the fact it was a male snogoagrper doing it (I know they have seen it all before etc) but I really panicked 😕😢

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 07/02/2023 22:25

@Hlc86 not quite the same situation but mine moved from anterior to posterior (and after that I was told on a different thread here that no way an anterior can move anywhere else other than fundal by Mumsnet experts who will still say something isn't possible even if you have a case that shows the opposite 🤪).
What I'd say though is that multilple people I've seen with praevia on musmnet said it moved after 20 weeks 🤞 It happens to the vast majority, I've seen somewhere that it moves away from cervix for 90% of people.
Totally get you not feeling ready to do an internal scan on the spot and don't beat yourself up about it x Maybe if waiting 12 weeks feels too long they could take you back in, or, would a private scan be an option? X

Need someone to tell me off 😂
Baby's been quiet today (in reality, it's probably moving lots but I can't feel due to position, etc) and I'm anxious. I know 20 weeks is too early to expend regular patterns and movements but there used to be a party in my belly every evening.
I think I did feel some movements today though... In fact, think I've just been kicked typing this!
Ohhh, bring on the scan tomorrow!

I spoke to the midwife about this yesterday. I was like "I know it's normal, I know she's probably moved and she's always been lazy and I know not to 'track' movements until 24 weeks, but I just need to hear you say it" 😂 so she did.
Her brother is the one I feel most, he's lower down and she's lay on top of him. I feel alsorts from him, but just less but bigger movements from her. Re scan on Thursday so hoping that gives me the reassurance

DrinkingAllTheGin · 07/02/2023 23:32

@Hlc86 My placenta has moved from anterior to previa. I had the internal to confirm, (wasn't really given a choice) and mine is not complete and is likely to move by 32 week rescan.

Ally1992 · 08/02/2023 06:04

Loving all the bump pics! Here’s mine at 23 weeks, I’m finally filling the maternity leggings!

The baby was also quiet for me for a couple of days recently which made me anxious but the midwife advised you should feel 3 movements a day at this point, he’s since been wriggling around in there.

Thank you both for your reassurance, I'm hoping it will move back up, I didn't realise they could move down I think that's what confused me and panikied me. I think I will rebook a private scan earlier than the 32 week nhs so as the NHS are so clinical and he seemed really in a rush last night, it only lasted 8 mins, our 12 week scan lasted longer, we were the last to be seen with our appointment being at 7.30pm so maybe he just wanted to get home as after he handed us back our notes, he got his coat on and left 😢. Just abit of a rubbish one, obviously I'm so blessed baby is looking as it should and measuring right, just disappointed with the experience if that makes sense

Baby3herewego · 08/02/2023 09:35

Finally it’s 20 weeks scan day (at 20 weeks + 3 days) who wants to put some guesses in as to the gender? So many little girl babies on this group so far!

FLA92 · 08/02/2023 10:05

Has anyone started buying clothes for the baby yet? I have just bought a few short sleeved bodysuits but am SO confused with what to buy / what size to buy! Newborn is only up to 7lbs in M&S… do most babies fit this at first or is it best to go for their 1 month size?

Also, what do summer babies wear?! I’m guessing not a lot?

Kelvie103 · 08/02/2023 10:31

My baby has been a bit quiet since my scan on Monday. It's hard not to worry when he was so active last week although I have felt him its been not often and quite faint. I'm wondering if it's to do with having a high anterior placenta. I was always feeling him strongly low down but this week its been really faint but higher up near my belly button. I'm thinking now he's kicking higher up he's being cushioned by the placenta more than he was.

@FLA92 I'm also not sure what to buy. I dont know anyone who's had summer babies before, I suppose it depends on if we get a hot one again or not. I think if it's hot he'll just be in a short sleeve vest. I've bought a few babygrows and a pack of vests so far, all 0-3 months which says 8-12lb where I got them from. Me and my brothers were all over 8lb so I'm planning on baby being about that too. Might buy a pack of new born size vests nearer the time too just incase.

Zaalfruit · 08/02/2023 11:38

I think I’m going to go with footless baby grows and the inside vests will be short sleeves . My last baby was a proper winter wardrobe baby .

@Kelvie103 i hope you are alright - the stress these little baby place on us .

theblueflowers · 08/02/2023 11:56

@ScrantonDunderMifflin all the best for your scan today, looking forward to your good news!

I went through exactly the same- the last two days before the scan baby went so quiet when before I had regular feelings. I do wonder if it was because I was so tense and stressed before the scan because I swear the movements have now ramped up.

tigerlily0 · 08/02/2023 12:00

Hi all I'm 24 weeks now and just realised I haven't been given a MATB1 form- somethings telling me I should give it to work before 25 weeks hits? Does anyone know or handed theirs in

Kladebs · 08/02/2023 12:21

@tigerlily0 yeah you need to give it to work by 25 weeks to get mat pay. Ring mw and they should sort it x

Kelvie103 · 08/02/2023 12:44

I was at the GP today for my whooping cough vaccine and I asked about the Mat1B form. They said the midwife will give it to me at my next appointment which isn't supposed to be until 26 weeks for me. My work have just said I need to inform them in writing that I'm pregnant and when I intend to start mat leave by 25 weeks, (although they said I can change that later), so I just emailed them which they said was fine. My work told me to just give them my Mat1B form when I get it although different places might have different policies.

tigerlily0 · 08/02/2023 14:12

U know, not only have they not given me the whooping cough vaccine but also no forms.

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 08/02/2023 15:48

@theblueflowers thank you ❤️
Everything looks good, we didn't find out the gender 🙈x

firsttimelondonmummy · 08/02/2023 19:08

Looking for some advice.
I’m 20+6 today.
Started feeling baby at the weekend and been getting stronger and stronger since.
Woke up feeling a bit sick this morning and not felt him all day/ eve.
Was just a quick wave of sickness when I was eating breakfast and nothing since but was weird.
We saw him Monday and all was fine.
Is it too early to have any sort of pattern or should I call the hospital?
I swear pregnancy is one anxiety milestone after another 😩
Misplaced optimism that I’d be able to enjoy the pregnancy after the 20 week scan 😔

@tigerlily0 I had same issue as my midwife said she'd post my matb but didn't weeks ago. She said she'll leave it at the gp for me on Friday. I'm. 22 weeks.

I'm full of cold or flu. Last night spent all night freezing and aching so much, throat and neck aching. I'm so tired. Bump is hurting alot now. I carry high so my ribs are getting pushed out so much. I'm so sore. Can't wait to get this baby out.

On another note I haven't bought any clothing. My dB and our friends gave us 2 years worth of clothing. She'll definitely not need anything for ages!

Pippagled · 08/02/2023 20:42

@firsttimelondonmummy I also felt a reduction in movements shortly after my 20 week scan. I deliberated over calling for the same reasons, but all the advice online says to ring as soon as possible if you have concerns about movements and do not delay, so I did. I said I know it's early, but mentioned the online advice, which didn't give a week limit, and said I didn't want to regret not ringing. I think it is too early to have a pattern, but personally I like knowing I've done everything I can in case there's a problem! They did end up calling me in, but that might be because I also had a small bit of spotting the week before. They just checked his heart with a doppler and all was fine 🙂

firsttimelondonmummy · 08/02/2023 21:14

@Pippagled I rang triage and she advised at my point I could have quiet days and it wouldn’t be uncommon but that I could come in for a Doppler check if I wanted to.
I said could I have an hour to decide and then I’d call her back.
Got off the phone and the little monkey started kicking me like he was taking penalties for his country lol.
So much so I could feel it from the outside.
Little monkey 💙
Very relieved though 😮‍💨

@firsttimelondonmummy what a relief ! Anytime you feel weird about movements just ring triage. Glad he is kicking away :)

( I am kinda sad I’m really not enjoying this pregnancy and then I feel guilty because I loved being pregnant previously.)

@BellaTheDarkOverlord ohh having a cold whilst pregnant is the worst . I can’t imagine the pain you are in - your little one is really resting your insides by pushing against your ribs. Just half way to go now !

I completely forgot about the whopping cough vaccine - my next midwife appointment is at 27 weeks is that too late? They haven’t mentioned to me to arrange it …

AstroH · 08/02/2023 22:36

@firsttimelondonmummy I am still solidly on the anxiety train. Yesterday it was listeria from undercooked biscuits. Today I woke up with a stabbing pain by my left boob, convinced myself I had a blood clot on my lung. Pain went by mid afternoon so didn’t go into the MAU. Baby has been moving away on & off all day which kept the anxiety at a manageable level. Always ring when you are worried/it’s becoming overwhelming (that’s what I’m telling myself anyway). I didn’t have any pattern or every day big moving until about late 22/23 weeks, hold on in there, it will happen soon I bet. I found the anxiety is still bad but the relief comes quicker now the movements are more constant. I am starting to love being pregnant. Thinking of you!

@BellaTheDarkOverlord having a cold/sinus infection and not being able to take any decongestant last week almost broke me. The most in pain & miserable I’ve been this pregnancy. I took paracetamol every 4 hours for a few days, which I didn’t love, but I really needed it to stop me from spiralling. It has cleared up now and I’m praying I don’t get another one. Hope yours improves soon.

AstroH · 08/02/2023 22:38

@Zaalfruit i think I’m right in saying you have until 32 weeks to get it, so you still have time. I had to organise it myself but they do drop ins at the place you have your scans/obstetrician appointments at Kings so it was super quick & easy to do. Maybe your hospital is similar or they could do it at your next midwife appointment? X

PurBal · 09/02/2023 06:37

@tigerlily0FWIW my closest hospital is 45 minutes away (it’s technically out of area, my in area hospital is 1 hour 15) and I know some people who have to travel further. 😞

@BellaTheDarkOverlordwere really struggling with names too, DH has a favourite I don’t like 😂

@pippabg you look great!

Thanks everyone for the reminder around the MatB form. I ended up having to go in separately to pick one up for DC1 because they didn’t issue it on time. I’m just going to fill in the mat leave application with my form to follow, speak to your line manager / HR and see if they’ll accept that too?

@FLA92 @Kelvie103 regarding clothes I was advised to avoid newborn (or maybe get one thing for the first day) then buy a mix of “up to 1 month” and 0-3. Looking at the weight on the label is definitely more useful as all brands are different. M&S is great for sizing! Will depend on the shape of your baby too, DS was long and thin. Now I have a toddler I tend to look at height rather than weight. DS as my first baby was 8lb13. He could just fit into newborn but not all brands.

Last night was hell. Either my toddler was stirring (never properly woke) or the baby was kicking so hard he woke me (I wasn’t in a deep sleep). It’s lovely he’s so active but much more wriggly that DC1. I never believed you could get woken up by kicking, DC1 was so sedate in comparison. And it’s still so early!

Follow up scan today, but nervous as DH can’t come but they only have to check one thing so hopefully it will be fine.

PurBal · 09/02/2023 06:38

@firsttimelondonmummy I was asked about movements and they said they don’t even really expect everyone to feel them until 24w and a pattern from 28w.
