Harmony is expensive but worth it for peace of mind.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and they dated me three days ahead of where I thought I was, making me 13 weeks today, but the pictures weren’t very good and the whole thing turned stressful as my husband didn’t want to be there at all so I’m feeling quite low about it all. I have to go to work today and I’m really not feeling up to it either but worried about attendance and work will just pile up if I don’t go in anyway.

Sorry it wasn't the best experience for you 😔

Hi ladies, well after what's felt like the longest wait especially after all the bleeding and constant need to do pregnancy tests I finally had my NHS scan! I think it's fair to say I was a nervous wreck but instantly met with relief when she turned the screen and I could see baby moving around, I was nearly 12 weeks but she was quick to say no this baby is not 12 weeks your 16+1 😱 I can't believe it! So thinking I was due the end of July changed to 28th June Because baby was so big we couldn't have some of the checks done as it's not so easy now, I would of expected to have more of a bump at this stage especially it been our 3rd baby which I'm sure will happen over night it will just appear now 😂 we didn't tell anyone so the fact we finally are and we're 16 weeks is crazy! It's all happening so fast now and to top it off I just felt my first kick 🥹 it's finally all feeling so real now ❤️ sending lots of happiness and baby dust to you all 🥰

Wow!!!! I'd love to have heard that news 😂

Hi ladies hope you’re all ok. So nice to see some of these lovely scans 🥰🥰

I’m 13+2 and have my dating scan tomorrow and I am worrying, again. My boobs no longer hurt, they’re still hard but my nipples don’t look as dark and neither does my areolas sorry tmi. I’m bloody petrified I’m going to be told the heart has stopped again 😩 had anybody had their symptoms basically stopping from 12 weeks?

All the best for tomorrow x

candycrush789 · 11/01/2023 14:17

@squirrelnutkins1 thank you! I’m terrified everywhere I have read says symptoms ease of around 12 weeks but it doesn’t reassure me at all! X

It's so scary when you've had a loss before. I feel your pain xx

candycrush789 · 11/01/2023 14:28

@squirrelnutkins1 i say my symptoms have gone, it’s mt sore boobs they’ve eased. But I have got other symptoms it’s just that one that stands out. Started to have vivid dreams again, my nose is always bloody and snotty sorry 😂 my gums are sore and I have growing twinges. I just over think stuff xx

rach971 · 11/01/2023 14:33

@candycrush789 All my symptoms (bar needing a wee loads!) stopped around 9 weeks and I'm now 11 and a half weeks and baby is doing fine ☺️ Totally understand the worry though x

Ballygowenwater · 11/01/2023 19:31

Just placemarking- I had my 12 week scan on Monday and all was good. 12 +6 today.

rach971 · 11/01/2023 19:57

Anon2021x · 11/01/2023 20:04

Hi All,

I got two letters in the post today - one for a obstetric diabetes consultation in Feb and another for an endocrinology one in March. I didn't know if anyone had any experience or attending an appointment like that. I wonder if something came up in my booking bloods, also I'm trying to presume if anything was needed urgently they'd be sooner? xx

BackOfTheMum5net · 11/01/2023 20:20

Wow! Looking back, do you feel you had symptoms sooner than you thought or not a clue?!

BackOfTheMum5net · 11/01/2023 20:27

Having had a straightforward dating scan between Christmas and New Year and been told our NT was absolutely fine, last Friday I received the dreaded call that my bloods (and I guess age - 37) had come back putting the baby at a 1/35 chance of Down's syndrome, and also revealed that its PAPP-A levels are quite low, potentially affecting growth. Another blood test (NIPT) was done the same day, and we have had quite an anxious weekend of worry.

Today the screening nurse phoned back, and I could tell from her voice everything was fine- and it was. The NIPT results revealed it is very low risk of Down's syndrome. And I get to spend more time with the consultant and have more check ups to keep an eye on growth.

There's many similar threads elsewhere on Mumsnet, and reading them gave us much comfort, so I'm adding my experience. Good luck everyone for your scans.

Oh - and new date is 10/07, which makes perfect sense :)

Glowen · 11/01/2023 21:13

Very glad to hear your good news!!! Can I please ask how long you waited to hear back on your initial bloods? I have my dating scan tomorrow and im so worried something is going to come back wrong.

@Glowen I had my blood/scan done late in the day on the 28th December and got my results on my nhs app on Jan 5th and letter in the post followed on the 9th. They said to me can take 2 weeks so I was glad they came back a bit sooner even with the bank holiday! Hope all goes well with your scan 😊

Anon2021x · 11/01/2023 21:24

Ahh that's so interesting @habiller thank you. I am 4 months post gastric sleeve so very early out of surgery and so that's good to know it's related to that. How is your food intake now 2 years post bariatrics?

I wonder what the diabetic appt is for but maybe they spotted something.

Hjudge56 · 11/01/2023 22:03

Everything is all okay and baby is looking healthy! thank you for the good luck wishes today! Measuring slightly ahead at 11+6 and due 27th July! Measurements were all low risk for the ‘syndromes’ so we decided to announce to our friends today and on social media! Blood tests will be back in a couple weeks but we felt confident after the scan to make it public! Has everyone else got it out there after their scan or waiting for bloods?

Rutennotou · 11/01/2023 22:06

So glad to see all these great scans!

I'm 15+2 now and think I've felt the tiniest wee bit of fluttering but obviously can't be certain. This is my 3rd baby. Might just be gas though 😁

pizzawinecake · 11/01/2023 22:10

@BackOfTheMum5net - I also had a letter saying I have low Papp-a but without much info. A Google search initially terrified me about what could go wrong but a bit more research and finding the Mumsnet threads was really reassuring. Feel like it's just a precaution rather than something is definitely wrong. But won't lie, it's given me a bit of anxiety just as I was starting to feel safe in the pregnancy.

But as you said, extra monitoring is no bad thing.

emmalou1981 · 11/01/2023 22:27

Can't find my original post but ime just coming up to 7 weeks pregnant and I have pressure down below like a pushing pressure ( no cramps or bleeding ) I have had 3 already but this is alot different to rhe others

Ballygowenwater · 11/01/2023 22:28

@Anon2021x sometimes your bmi triggers an automatic diabetes screening- I have to have one at I think 28 weeks as my bmi is high.

rach971 · 11/01/2023 22:39

@Hjudge56 So glad all was well! ☺️ I didn't take them up on the testing. We announced today after the scan.

rach971 · 11/01/2023 22:40

@Rutennotou I think I'll feel so much more reassured when I start to feel movements. Looks like I have an anterior placenta though so could be nearer 20 weeks when I start feeling it 😫

BackOfTheMum5net · 11/01/2023 22:47

We had the bloods and scan on the Thursday and it was 8 days later they called. The second test was on the Friday afternoon and we heard back early on Wednesday afternoon so very quick turnaround.
