@habiller its not been fun, I've got to admit lol. Also I was so shocked to find out I was pregnant, we were not trying at all I'd taken this time to focus on me and finally had the surgery etc. Very grateful it has happened of course after 3 years of trying before we decided to take a break.

At my booking appointment she said that the appts would likely first be with a consultant and then if they thought I was all OK back to midwife. I am a bit concerned that I got a letter through for the diabetes clinic because I've never had any issues like that even in my first pregnancy, but I guess I'll just have to see what it's for.

Food wise - I've been mainly having soups, I keep craving fruits like mango/pineapple/melon, orange juice, and then snack things (crisps, dairylea dunkers etc) really which isn't ideal but it stays down. I've had alot of sickness so things I could tolerate like eggs I can't have. So it's either the sleeve or the nausea rejecting things, it's hard 😂😂.

Rutennotou · 12/01/2023 09:47

@rach971 I be glad of thr movement too, not a fan of the stage between the 12 and 20 week scans as you've no idea what's going on! I had an anterior placenta in my last pregnancy, was about 20 weeks before I felt stronger movements. Later on at times I could see baby moving but not feel anything. DD was breech though so might have affected things more x

rach971 · 12/01/2023 10:28

@Rutennotou Literally 😫 I'm going to book a private scan in for around 16 weeks to find out gender but even that's 4 weeks away which feels like forever 🙈

BackOfTheMum5net · 12/01/2023 11:00

Just to add in my area (N. Yorks) they phone if it is bad news and send a letter if everything is fine. I imagine with the post at the moment, you probably wait a bit longer for good news!

babybrainfart · 12/01/2023 11:37

I have come to the conclusion today that the smell in my office makes me feel sick. I generally only get the odd feeling of sickness at home, but feel sick the whole time i'm at work. I really miss working from home.

candycrush789 · 12/01/2023 14:59

Had my scan today and such a relief! 13+2 and due 18th July 🥰🥰 got an early gender scan booked for 1st February. What does everything think the gender is? I have a feeling but intrigued to see what everyone’s opinions are!

EmmRach · 12/01/2023 15:59

@BackOfTheMum5net

So sorry you've had a bit of a scare with the screening!!
Just clocked you're in North Yorks. I'm in West Yorkshire. So I'm assuming it's a similar situation for me. Although I could be wrong.
I'm currently awaiting a call / letter with the NT screening results. I'm on day 7 post scan, so seeing you got your call 8 days later is giving me mega panic! Although it's good to read really so I don't get overly complacent in case it is difficult news.
My appointment was at Halifax but my bloods go off to Leeds for testing. Do you know which hospital your bloods were tested at? Just considering turn around times.
So happy your NIPT was a good result. That's great! Was the NIPT NHS too? Or did you have to pay for that? I was wondering if they would make you wait for the quad test at 16 weeks before they sprung for the expensive NIPT for you. Ha!

BackOfTheMum5net · 12/01/2023 16:17

I think the fact we had our scan done between Christmas and New Year may have stretched things out a bit with regards waiting for the original results. I'm sure yours is arriving via post because they're absolutely fine!

I don't know where the first set of bloods were tested - I assumed Leeds too but that is based on zero knowledge!

Our NIPT test was done on the NHS and it seems they have rolled them out for all now (if considered at high risk of course). The screening midwife said she is looking forward to when the NIPT is the standard test offered as it is a better diagnostic test. They were so good at making sure it was done quickly, telling me to come in that same day so they could get the results off to the lab and get us answers asap. They said it would be 5 working days and it was 3 and a bit, cannot fault that. The NIPT labwork was done at St George's hospital in London.

Hi All,

12 week scan done today and so grateful to see a wriggly healthy baby - due 31/07/22 😊

Can't believe I'm at this point, feeling very emotional. Xx

Amyp1234 · 12/01/2023 16:58

Hi all, just asking again if anyone experienced bright red that then led to dark brown spotting? Currently 13 weeks pregnant.

rach971 · 12/01/2023 20:50

@candycrush789 Ahhh that's lovely! I'm so bad at guessing from the scan photos haha but you should post it on Nub Theory Queens on Facebook ☺️ Mine was too early to be able to tell unfortunately

septembersapphire7 · 12/01/2023 22:01

@Amyp1234 i had a bright red bleed with brown discharge before and after .. it’s stopped now and my scan showed a small clot inferior to the gestation sac. It’s scary but as long as there is a heartbeat on the scan, can only take one day at a time and stay positive 🤞🏽

PumpkinDart · 12/01/2023 22:03

Congratulations @candycrush789 we're a day apart, had my scan today and 13+3.

Mummy2Girls22 · 12/01/2023 22:08

@EmmRach I had mine done at Lgi on Monday I was told it's around 1 weeks turn around for results and I'll hear through the post but in a few days if it's urgent x

RandomCatGenerator · 12/01/2023 22:41

On the Downs, Edwards and Patau blood test, I got 1 in 3000.

can anyone confirm what the next stage of testing is, to get a more accurate result? It isn’t invasive is it?

OP posts:
clouise30 · 12/01/2023 22:49

@RandomCatGenerator I didn't think they did further testing unless it was less than 1:150? But I do know all trusts are different

RandomCatGenerator · 12/01/2023 22:50

@clouise30 sorry I mean if I was to go private

OP posts:
clouise30 · 12/01/2023 22:55

@RandomCatGenerator oh sorry I see! I would of thought to get a more accurate result it would need to be an amniocentesis but I could be completely wrong!

EmmRach · 12/01/2023 23:02

@BackOfTheMum5net thanks so much for the info. And I'm really happy to hear that they dealt with your extra screening so quickly! Like you say. I'm sure the post person will be turning up with positive news any day but that does give me confidence if not.

@Mummy2Girls22 ahh ok, that's great to hear specially about Leeds. So add a day or 2 to transport the sample to leeds.... Hopefully I'll hear soon then. It's been a week now.

Thanks both xx

Hi all,

Hopping in from the other thread, hoping everyone is doing ok <3

MamaSJ15 · 13/01/2023 07:00

@candycrush789 that's lovely 😊 I'm useless with guessing the sex from the scan photo, what are you thinking?

All this time I’ve thought girl…now everyone is saying boy! So now I’m 50/50! I have a gender scan booked for 1st Feb as I can’t wait 😂🤦🏻‍♀️x

Hi all, just asking again if anyone experienced bright red that then led to dark brown spotting? Currently 13 weeks pregnant.

Hi! First of all I would definitely call the midwives ASAP. Probably not much to worry about, but even spotting, I've called my midwives.

I haven't experienced bright red blood, but have been experiencing brown spotting for a week on and off. They've referred me to a gynecologist, who found that I have 'crvical ectropion', which is benign and happens when cells from inside the cervical canal grow onto the outside of the cervix, which can cause some bleeding as they are more irritable.

During this same appointment, they also measured my cervix, and turns out that I have a cervix on the shorter side (approx 30mm, though she said between 27 and 30), which will need to be monitored closely. Has anyone else experience a short cervix? I'm freaking out as that can cause premature birth/early loss!!
