@Ubbee I tore from front to back with my first and then at 1 weeks pp I re ripped my stitches getting up for the doorbell to fast and went on to have second vaginally birth with no tears at all! Going for my third this time aswell hoping everything is as smooth in that department as it was last time.

Perexi · 22/01/2023 17:50

4d scan was really good! Although in true style he always has his arms over his face 🤣 hes a stubborn one!

Strange though as they said the placenta is at the top not low laying....i just assumed they could only move a little bit, it's only been two weeks since there was only 1cm clearance! Apparently he's head down too now which is totally different to two weeks ago 🤣

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/01/2023 18:13

Great news Perexi!! When I went for my scan the other day, in 6 weeks the placenta had gone from completely covering to ‘more than 2cm away’ - so looks like they can move pretty speedily. So happy for you that it’s no longer an issue! 💙

Ubbee · 22/01/2023 18:19

@Cuppasoupmonster Oof you poor thing. I also had an episiotomy followed by the tear for the cup and the massive ‘tongs’ 🤣
Hopefully they can for you - were you stitched by a doctor or midwife? Our birth centre is in the hospital and literally a lift away from the labour ward if I did need to go down. I think otherwise I’d definitely not consider it.

@Babynum2 oh god that sounds awful but overall reassuring to hear! Did you have a lot of midwife support to slow baby down at key moments etc or did it just naturally happen better second time around?

The obstetrician wasn’t even sure if I would be allowed to deliver at the birth centre (no other risk factors than the previous tear and associated PPH) but midwives have said it’s fine and might be likely to get more senior midwife support there. So hard to know what’s best!

Ubbee · 22/01/2023 18:22

@Perexi @Cuppasoupmonster wow that’s amazing how they’ve moved. Glad they’ve worked themselves out for you 🙂

Really tempting me to do a late 4d scan as we’ve never done one and this is last baby but also not long to wait now!

Babynum2 · 22/01/2023 18:26

@Ubbee they knew about my previous tear but if anything the second was so fast he was out in 2 pushes he was a lot smaller at 5.5lb my first was 7.11lb and in all fairness I was so young my body probably wasn't even ready to push a baby out! I think just listening to the midwife about what types of pushes to do and when to pant ect just really helped second time to.

Franklin321 · 22/01/2023 18:28

I’ve got my placenta scan tomorrow as well, keeping everything crossed it’s moved enough for a ‘standard’ C-section rather than an earlier slightly more complicated one 🤞🤞🤞

I'm not sure I believe it but the NHS scan will hopefully confirm in a few weeks! Nice to not have the decision taken away from me re the birth plan (I'm aware it's unlikely to go to plan but nice to be able to think about what I would like!)

He's already estimated to weigh 3lb11 at 30+4

I doubt they’re wrong at this point the placenta is usually very big and visible! At my scan at 28+4 baby was 3lb1 😬 sounds like we are both having chunky little babies! He’s only 70th overall though as average size legs and head, just a very big tummy (that’s the diabetes 🙄)

Yeah I know I just thought movement would be a bit not to opposite ends of the uterus! It's a good thing though.

Awww bless! my mum kept saying what a good weight which it is but means he's on track for being a good 9lb baby which is terrifying 😂

TeddyBeans · 22/01/2023 20:32

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @Franklin321 🤞

@Perexi DS was 8lbs 4oz and I had no idea - I didn't get a growth scan because my pregnancy up until 39 weeks was plain sailing 😬 apparently gravity works in your favour with bigger babies though I don't know how much truth there is in that

TeddyBeans · 22/01/2023 20:38

I've been a bit crampy today, I don't remember having any cramps with DS 🤔 little miss is merrily wriggling away though so it's not bothering her in the slightest. Will mention to the midwife tomorrow but it'll probably be put down to BH (even though they're not supposed to hurt)

OP posts:
beatingheartbaby · 22/01/2023 21:47

I'm feeling really crampy today too @TeddyBeans I feel like I just can't find any comfy position at all as well so it's been a bleh day haha

TeddyBeans · 22/01/2023 22:03

@beatingheartbaby I agree it has been a bleh day! Plus DS has given me his cough so I'm back to wearing incontinence pads so I don't have to change clothes every time I pee myself when I cough. Pregnancy is so glamorous 😒

I've created a new thread as this one's close to the limit. I tried to tag everyone so hopefully that's worked. @havanamama I don't know why but you're missing from my list 🙈 I'm really sorry! I did tag you in the opening post as well so hopefully you've got it.

Omg I went through that for 3 weeks this month!! It's the worst. Midwife just said it's normal and will pass, which it thankfully has.

To be honest I burst into tears this morning, as with pelvic girdle pain I can walk max 15min, it hurts to get out of bed or to roll around, I feel huge and swollen.

Pregnancy symptoms are now starting to feel like an illness. I'm super grateful and know it's all worth it, but movies do portray it as mostly cravings and mood swings, so I was totally naive about all these other aspects 😩

TeddyBeans · 22/01/2023 22:24

@havanamama oh you poor thing, PGP sounds awful! It's hard enough rolling over in bed without it so I can't imagine how difficult it must be with it 😞 how long til you're off on maternity and can rest up properly?

I think people don't talk about the grim side of pregnancy so they don't put people off who are thinking about TTC. But as you know there are a lot of us that are doing this for the second or third etc time so we're either suckers for punishment (probable) or it definitely is worth it in the end 😁
