@TeddyBeans I can mostly read a (simple) pattern but do prefer YouTube if I can find what I want on there. Made this cardigan from a YouTube video last week 🥰

Oh it's gorgeous 😍 waaaay out of my remit at the moment, the most complicated thing I've managed was an amigurumi caterpillar for my nephew's Christmas present a few years ago 😂

@TeddyBeans I've requested to join the Facebook group this morning if you could accept me please :)

I've accepted everyone that's asked to join this morning so hopefully you have access now 😊

@TeddyBeans I can't crochet (or at least I've never tried) but I've been knitting a blanket....I started almost a year ago and it's not done 😂😂 best get a move on

My mum can knit but she can't teach me, I'm right handed and she's a lefty so we don't think it'll work 😭 it's a shame cuz I'd love to learn to knit - tried YouTubing it but adding another stick adds a whole new level of complicated and my confuddled brain can't deal with that 😂😂

Maybe when you start nesting your urge to complete said blanket will be unbearable!

The blanket and cushion I made for DS' teepee that we had to take down to fit DD's bed in his room. He loves to snuggle up under it and read stories 🥰

Thank you @TeddyBeans ! And everyone for the answers about Pregnacare.

Choc2022 · 20/01/2023 10:05

@ChristmasJumpers it is overwhelming isn't it. We are having to go away this weekend until mid next week so hoping I'm not leaving things too late. We are also in the middle of sorting our house, moving rooms etc so everything up in the air.

Definitely starting to feel more tired right now also.

havanamama · 20/01/2023 10:31

Just received the NHS Red Book! How exciting! Lots of useful info too for a FTM ☺️

Blocklynn · 20/01/2023 10:45

@TeddyBeans thats lovely, the colours are really nice.

TeddyBeans · 20/01/2023 10:48

@havanamama I got a text through the other day about a videocall and getting my red book through the post 🤷‍♀️ I'm just pleased to be getting one! It's a great memory book for the future. I'm sure there was talk of them going digital with it. It just wouldn't be the same

I'm kinda tempted to have a go at crocheting an octopus. The technician said that little miss was playing with her cord yesterday so might be quite nice for her to have when she's earthside

I only had read once about it in a book about looking after a newborn, no one had mentioned it to me, so was a nice little surprise. :)

TeddyBeans · 20/01/2023 10:59

@havanamama lovely 😊 I like nice little surprises like that!

@havanamama is it a new thing that you get them before now or does it depend on area? My two other children we've been given them in the hospital after the birth!

No idea, it's my first baby and no midwife or doctor has mentioned them before, it just showed up in the post! I'm in week 34 now

Cats23 · 20/01/2023 12:07

Went to my local wool shop yesterday....Absolutely love my babies in a babygrow and knitted cardigan...so cute!!

Gorgeous cardigans!!! Did you make or buy them? Someone’s talented either way! I can knit but stopped years ago and know if I bought the wool despite my best intentions I just wouldn’t have the time right now, or I wouldn’t finish it off. So shamelessly ordered from Etsy Blush

alotoftutus · 20/01/2023 12:16

@Cats23 so cute. Babygrows and knitted cardigans are my favourite thing for babies too.
I used to have an online baby shop selling baby knitwear - (imported from Spain and Portugal mostly as they have incredible baby clothes and I can't knit lol).

Cats23 · 20/01/2023 12:16

@Cuppasoupmonster Thank you!
Bought , I'm not at all talented or patient enough to knit.
I admire people who do!

Cats23 · 20/01/2023 12:18

@alotoftutus I think this wool shop posts things actually, luckily I live 2mins away.
So cheap too £5 each and £2.50 for the hat

iratepirate · 20/01/2023 12:20

Ooh lovely knits! I knit but haven’t made anything for the baby yet.

ChristmasJumpers · 20/01/2023 12:31

We've received quite a few knitted cardigans from family/friends which is good as I cannot knit no matter how hard I try!

Going to have a really good go at crocheting though, I'm determined to make her something special 🥰

I got mine post birth last time, I think when the HV did their first home visit. I received a text a couple of days ago saying I'm going to get a videocall and my red book will be coming in the post so potentially a post covid thing

How sweet @Cats23 !

I've got 1 knitted cardigan that was a hand me down, and got a knitted jumper ordered from Etsy with baby's name on the front as a sentimental keepsake as it's 0-3 only.

Dreamingof3 · 20/01/2023 13:22

Awe I love knitted cardigans 😍 I don't have anyone to make me them though! I got some on vinted a little while ago...4 beautiful hand made cardigans in different colours for about £7.50 including postage! So might be worth looking there

Babynum2 · 20/01/2023 15:33

@alotoftutus ahhh I love Spanish baby wear both of mine have had loads! I got lots of little outfits from the market for new baby can't wait to put him in them!
