@Katdemar I really think it depends on hormones. I lost nothing before or after with my first, I lost nothing during pregnancy with second and then loads when I stopped BF. This time I've had lots of breakage in my pregnancy and I don't think it's anything to do with sex of baby because first was a girl second was a boy and this time it's a boy also. I am however on progesterone this time so might be why I'm loosing so much?

ChristmasJumpers · 19/01/2023 21:34

@TeddyBeans 5 weeks to go 😍 we're so close to meeting some babies on this thread! I'm 30 weeks today, one of the very last ones due 😬

I haven't packed my bags yet but like the idea of separate bags for baby, labour and pist labour. I have the zip lock clear pouches from amazon to group things together too so DH can find things easily if needed. Is it the norm to go in with a blanket, pillow, birthing ball etc? I see them on recommended lists but how on earth do you get all that in while in labour?!

Babynum2 · 19/01/2023 21:46

@ChristmasJumpers not sure if you are on the Facebook but we have had 2 babies born already.😊

Wow!! I'm not in the group on FB so just presumed it's the same updates as here
I was looking at the list the other day and counted about 70 pregnancies and was wondering when the first ones would be.

Babynum2 · 19/01/2023 21:54

@havanamama there's a few mummies who was on the mumsnet early on but don't keep up anymore. We had a baby in December and a baby last week 😍

Ohh very premature babies !

Can I still join the group? Or is it more or less the same as this otherwise?

Babynum2 · 19/01/2023 21:58

@havanamama if you message @TeddyBeans I'm sure she will be able to add you. There's a few more pics on fb than here and we do bump threads plus a lot more questions get answered I find.

havanamama · 19/01/2023 22:05

Thank you @Babynum2 !
@TeddyBeans could you link me please?

TeddyBeans · 19/01/2023 22:26

@havanamama linky link 😊

ChristmasJumpers · 19/01/2023 22:34

@Babynum2 oh I am on there and I completely forgot that it was linked to the thread! I'm in another one too which is mainly Americans and there have been lots born on there starting about 15 weeks ago 😳

havanamama · 19/01/2023 22:44

@TeddyBeans thank you! :) I think I accepted the invite but it’s still showing it as private group so I can’t see anything

TeddyBeans · 19/01/2023 23:06

@havanamama I've accepted you into the group now so you should have full access, let me know if not and I'll see if I can sort it

So I have a very small bag for if I have to go in for a brief stay and a suitcase my husband can bring if needed for a longer stay. Baby's stuff is in a changing backpack. Personally I overpacked last time. The only thing I had time to use from my labour bag was lip salve and a bar of dairy milk (both afterwards anyway!).

Flittingaboutagain · 19/01/2023 23:13

My hair loss settled after about a year and I carried on breastfeeding (still am). I took pregnacare until I finished the box then bought the breastfeeding version which my HV said was fine. I have definitely found I have lost less hair this pregnancy so will see what happens PP. The only place it was visible was my temples. The mother's thumb pain was so much more of a PP issue than hair loss for me though.* *

Cuppasoupmonster · 19/01/2023 23:13

Oooh actually I think I’ll repack - bring a labour bag, the hold-all with a few extra bits in for a couple of nights stay, then leave another bag at home which DH can bring in if we haven’t been discharged by then. Otherwise I can see myself ending up with mountains of stuff all over the postnatal ward and struggling to pack it all up at the end like with DD 😆 also means I can send all the dirty stuff home and swap for clean rather than muddling them all together.

Choc2022 · 20/01/2023 00:52

@TeddyBeans I did the exact same thing today. Bought wool in two colours and a crochet needle.... except I can't actually crochet. My duedate is towards end of March so hopefully if I start now I'll be able to get something made.

I hadn't considered three bags but it sounds like a great idea. Out of interest do the bags get dirty? Only cos babys bag is brand new and don't want it dirty on day 1 (and would take an old bag instead).

I still need a cot, next to me mattress, moses basket mattress, pram, bouncer, monitor, car seat and I'm 31 weeks...oh and nursery/baby area still to sort 😥

I'm having the most craziest feeling right now it's a first. The baby has hiccups but he's head down so I can feel it in my bum! Every 5 seconds it's like a little pulse

This is what I have been getting the last few days! First time I have felt hiccups and they’re in my bum 😂

Blocklynn · 20/01/2023 07:04

@TeddyBeans how fast do you crochet? Takes me ages to make a blanket!
I’m currently making a green one with a zigzag pattern.

TeddyBeans · 20/01/2023 08:17

@Choc2022 I love crocheting, it's so relaxing 😊 once you get the jist of it there'll be no stopping you!

@Blocklynn I made a blanket and a cushion for DS and it took me about 3 days on and off. I wouldn't say I was particularly fast but I enjoy it. I need to learn how to follow patterns so I can do designs and things. I self taught by watching YouTube videos 😅

TeddyBeans · 20/01/2023 08:18

@Choc2022 also I wouldn't worry about the changing bag, we kept my bags on the end of my bed last time and they stayed clean up there

@TeddyBeans I've requested to join the Facebook group this morning if you could accept me please :)

Dreamingof3 · 20/01/2023 08:44

@TeddyBeans I can't crochet (or at least I've never tried) but I've been knitting a blanket....I started almost a year ago and it's not done 😂😂 best get a move on

I could have written this entire post myself! I'm 30 weeks and still need mattresses for the next to me (bought one second hand) and the moses basket (kindly given to us second hand). We still need a bouncer too.

I got a crochet starter kit for Christmas but haven't given it a go yet. Between that, the nursery still not being done, baby clothes in bags all over the place, hospital bags not packed. I'm feeling a little bit overwhelmed but then still so tired after work that I don't make any moves towards getting it done!

Blocklynn · 20/01/2023 08:56

@TeddyBeans I can mostly read a (simple) pattern but do prefer YouTube if I can find what I want on there. Made this cardigan from a YouTube video last week 🥰
