It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

Welcome and congrats to everyone new! I'm trying to catch up on this thread, it's going very fast today.

@sinloutox I am so sorry, I hope you don't have a long wait. Wishing you all the best.

@sally16 I've got a 3 and a half year old who is full of energy and changing her mind every few minutes on what she wants to do, watch and eat 😂sorry to say it but my patience isn't the best, I'm actually feeling quite irritated most days which isn't like me - DW has lovingly labelled me 'grumpy' 🤣

I managed a 30 min swim today and feel great for it. I've missed it a lot but I am so out of shape, two weeks off and it's like I've never been swimming before 😂I took it steady and took several breaks when I felt like I needed them and so far everything feels fine with no more discharge than normal.

TulipVictory · 05/12/2022 15:46

@Mulner88 I haven't but I'm not 4 days late, I am now 9 days late 😬

ChloeN · 05/12/2022 16:05

@TulipVictory i think I recognise your name from a thread before, sorry you’re still no closer to having answers! I would imagine the line would be much darker by now, but may be worth grabbing a different test just in case? X

Chocolotandtea · 05/12/2022 16:14

This is a total tmi question but if I can’t ask it here I can’t ask it anywhere!

Is everyone continuing to DTD as normal since finding out they are pregnant?

DH is treating me like a sacred vessel and can’t help but think sex is off the cards until baby is here by which point I’m sure I will definitely not be up for it 😂 we have actually not had sex since we conceived which would have been about a month ago. Really just want to know what’s “normal”.

elarcoiris · 05/12/2022 16:16

@Chocolotandtea In theory, yes, although after five months of TTC I’m not sure I can remember what a normal sex life looks like 🤣

Mulner88 · 05/12/2022 16:32

@Chocolotandtea thanks for asking as I was thinking about asking this too 🙈 we also haven't DTD since we conceived either, but I think we are both really cautious, even though the research says it's completely safe! We probably will this week but also curious to know what others are doing...😄
I think I'm scared as last time I got pregnant, we had sex once and the next day my MC began BUT I know this was just coincidence but can't help but think back...
For the ladies who already have kids, did you continue to DTD in the early days?

ChloeN · 05/12/2022 16:34

@Chocolotandtea we have a few times, did it regularly throughout the tww also. Tbh I find it a bit uncomfortable as feel like my cervix might be a bit sensitive but other than that it’s been fine for us xx

Chocolotandtea · 05/12/2022 16:43

Thanks @elarcoiris @ChloeN, good to know that life should be continuing then…I honestly feel like a born again virgin now too scared to intimate it 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ No idea where this has come from as not normally shy. But I guess I always get like this if something has happened and it’s been a while.

so sorry to hear that @Mulner88 can definitely understand why that would make you nervous x

LMM91x · 05/12/2022 16:45

@Chocolotandtea HA i’m TOO SCARED !!! Which I know is ridiculous 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we haven’t since conception either which will be a month. Need to man up and get on with it I think !! What is sex if not a military baby making operation?!?!?!? 🤣🤣

Amme18 · 05/12/2022 16:46

@Chocolotandtea we haven’t, but tbh I’ve felt bloated/shattered/full of cold - the LAST thing I’ve felt like doing 😅

UsernameNotPresent · 05/12/2022 16:46

We DTD last pregnancy from maybe about 7-8 weeks when the novelty of being pregnant wore off. I wasn't really into it when the bump grew, I found the wriggly bump a bit off-putting 😂 DH thought the same.
This time around we are still in the 'novelty' phase, and to he honest, I am too tired to care 😬

Chocolotandtea · 05/12/2022 16:48

Hahaha @LMM91x i know right!! Honestly not sure if I even know how to do it anymore 🙈

that sounds so dramatic as we have been way longer without DTD (my dad was very ill and I was very stressed) but it just feels…I duno…weird…now!!! Probably being far too honest but I just don’t know why I feel like this

DesertSnow · 05/12/2022 16:56

Thanks all for advice re. exercise! Think I will keep on with current programme as much as energy allows. Today I just feel exhausted and generally unwell so think key will be listening to my body.

@sally16 I've booked a scan for when I'll be 8w2d.

Totally get why you cancelled the scan @Mulner88 - and it's not long to the NHS one for you. Hope you're doing ok.

Hi and congrats @Lalalul @tallgirl232 @MaraudingMother and @Nic2908.

@Lalalul I stopped testing when I got a dye stealer - they can't tell me anything more is the reasoning I used.

@TulipVictory I'm sorry you're anxious - I'm not familiar with those tests, but echo what others have said about maybe trying a different brand.

Thanks for sharing what you were asked in your booking in appointment @PumpkinEverything, helpful to know.

@marleyandme I just want to get the appointment in the diary too! Interesting they said you'd hear back in the 8-10 week period. I self-referred over a week ago and haven't heard anything. Might chase if I get to 8 weeks with still nothing.

Really sorry to hear your update @sinloutox - your attitude is really impressing me (sorry if that sounds patronising but it's true). Fingers crossed your next cycle is the one!

Sorry you're having a hard time @TheBirdintheCave. Try to remember that every pregnancy is different and just because it feels like your MC in terms of lack of symptoms, it doesn't necessarily mean that. What @PumpkinEverything shared is very helpful, I hope you find some comfort in it too. I think the only thing that's for certain is that no two pregnancies are the same!

@Chocolotandtea we've not DTD since conceiving - I'm too anxious! Even though I know it's safe etc. I don't think I'd be able to get in the right mood, especially with feeling a bit rough at the moment.

TulipVictory · 05/12/2022 17:01

@ChloeN @DesertSnow I've tried two different brands now and the same, faint positives. Feel like I'm waiting for the inevitable now really at something ridiculous like 20DPO

sally16 · 05/12/2022 17:14

I can't believe the price of early scans now! In 2019 when I was pregnant with DS it was £40, now £90 😵‍💫 self reffered to midwife today but waiting to find out if I can continue on citalopram and melatonin.. does anyone know off the top of their head? Had zero sleep all weekend for not taking the melatonin :(

sally16 · 05/12/2022 17:15

@TulipVictory the strip tests and cheap Asda ones are showing faint/barley visible for me! The first response was a clear positive though. Maybe worth trying one of those? Or chancing luck with GP for 2 blood tests to check levels? 🤞🏻 good luck!
My tests did lighten quite quickly last pregnancy with nothing going wrong xx

TheBirdintheCave · 05/12/2022 17:26

@Mulner88 Nope not until I was 20+ weeks. We had sex once around then and then again at 40+3 and I went into labour the next day.

Won't be having sex this time until around the same time I think, it's far too scary 😂

heand2022 · 05/12/2022 17:27

@sally16 I'm on Citalopram and was put on it last year as it's safe for pregnancy don't know about melatonin though!

AnnieApple123 · 05/12/2022 17:35

@sally16 I don’t think there‘s enough evidence on the safety of melatonin in pregnancy for most doctors to be confident recommending it unfortunately? Very frustrating as the chances are it’s fine. I took it recently on private prescription and the doctor wasn’t keen for me to breastfeed on it so I stopped for those days. I’ve not looked into it myself in detail but I know there’s some evidence that cherry juice increases melatonin naturally. Maybe worth researching?

We’re in London and the scan I have booked is £200 - another reason to maybe skip it.

BusyBushBaby · 05/12/2022 17:37

@TulipVictory That test does look very light for 5+2 weeks pregnant... but is it possible you ovulated later than you thought? Could the previous chemical have disrupted your cycle a bit?

I guess time will tell either way. I hope it turns out well for you.

LS888 · 05/12/2022 17:39

I have an early scan booked for 30th December. I was going to wait but think that’s a good time. I will be 9 + 3 according to my pregnancy app but I ovulate late so technically around a week behind that. Even at 8+ 3 I felt like it would be good time- not too early!

I had a follow up call from the hospital today after my self referral. I was at work but called them back and have a booking appointment on 23rd December. Mine took an over a week too @DesertSnow.

Feels a bit more real now both of those things have been booked in. I’ve also been given a log in for the app my local hospital uses. So off to se that up now 😊

BusyBushBaby · 05/12/2022 17:39

@AnnieApple123 £200!!!? There's a place near me that does early pregnancy scans for £49.

ChloeN · 05/12/2022 17:49

@LS888 i think I’ll be booking mine around then too, will be just over 9 weeks so hoping it’ll give me some reassurance🤞🏻 I haven’t booked yet though I’m too scared 🤣

LS888 · 05/12/2022 17:53

@ChloeN I’m scared too! But now it’s booked I feel happier and a bit excited. Just need to ride out the next few weeks, all being well. Get it booked!

TulipVictory · 05/12/2022 17:57

Thanks @sally16 that's slightly reassuring, how far along are you? The ones I bought were cheaper ones from wilkos and the pound shop but still one said it could measure 25mui and the other 10 so still fairly sensitive 😬 I was sure the line would be strong today after waiting it out so it's been very disappointing
