It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

Does anyone else have a crazy toddler to contend with? My last pregnancy was mostly lazing about.. this time I'm already tired 😅

Yes. Mine’s driving me crazy today. Can’t keep still. Twice he’s crashed into me and hurt both of us. I’m knackered and I’m afraid not very patient.

@AnnieApple123 my patience is low at the best of times 😅 he's already been told get a grip today 😂😵‍💫

MsRT · 05/12/2022 12:21

@sally16 mine isn’t even a toddler yet! 😳 he’s one in a weeks time but I miss the lazines s from his pregnancy already 🤣

sally16 · 05/12/2022 12:31

@MsRT aw god so you don't even have nursery chill time! 😭

Lalalul · 05/12/2022 12:47

Any tips on how to stop obsessing over tests?! I only found out yesterday at 13dpo which is still so early. Todays 14dpo was reassuringly darker, but I don’t want to test every day and panic myself. This is my first time and I’m so worried that it won’t last. thank you 😊

TheBirdintheCave · 05/12/2022 12:50

@Lalalul Not really as I tested until 25dpo as it made me feel better. Maybe get someone to hide them for you if you have spares?

Amme18 · 05/12/2022 13:02

@sally16 3 and a half year old! He’s wild 😅 very much did not appreciate toddler free pregnancy the first time!

Before MN I didn't even know what a chemical pregnancy was. Or a missed miscarriage. It's only being on here which made me realise how common they are. My first pregnancy I did 3 tests the day I found out and didn't test again, because in my head I was pregnant and that was that. Unless my body gives me a reason to think otherwise. I actually feel like testing gives me more anxiety, rather than less. I did one FRER this time on 8DPO and an early digital the same day, then i did a weeks digi on 12DPO and nothing since. My period hasn't arrived and I've no reason to believe anything is awry. I will wait until my early scan at 7 weeks and try to just trust my body in the meantime.

It's so easy for anyone else to say "this is what I did" but honestly, there's nothing those tests can do for you now. Trust your body to do what it needs to do, i would recommend an early scan though if you can afford it just to give you something to look forward to! ❤️

Hi everyone hope things are going well? I don't want to bring any negativity to this lovely thread but just wanted some honest opinions. I should technically be 5+2 weeks pregnant (AF was due by 28/11/22). Anyway, last month I had a BFP on my due date but a faint one and then started bleeding 3 days later and then negative test. Anyway, this month I did not want to test early as I did not want the sadness of last month. Anyway, I tested when I was 4 days late and had a very faint line, I've since taken another and then another today. All have been very faint i.e. squinters. I've waited out a few days and hoped today I'd see some progression but no, I am now feeling really disheartened and that impending miscarriage is likely. What do you all think?

This is all new to me, I have had three previous healthy pregnancies. If this is another loss, I think that this is it, we will stop now. We are very lucky with what we have.

Due August 2023?
Mulner88 · 05/12/2022 14:19

Thanks everyone for the well wishes regarding the scan today. I feel like a fraud now but I cancelled it (private scan) as I was really anxious about it when I woke up, didn't feel in the right frame of mind for it. They were understanding over the phone and they will keep my deposit to go for another scan in the future. I've my NHS scan on the 15th Dec so I'll wait it out for that. I'll prob be a nervous wreck for that one too 🙈😂

AnnieApple123 · 05/12/2022 14:31

@Mulner88 I totally get you. I have a scan booked a week from today and already I’m umming and ahhhing about cancelling - or maybe waiting a bit longer - for a number of reasons. Part of me thinks scans can cause so much anxiety (when ironically I originally booked it to relieve anxiety) that I might be better off just waiting for 12 weeks.

One of my reasons for wanting an early scan originally was for reassurance that there is (hopefully) just one baby. But from what I gather, this isn’t always conclusive. Firstly there’s vanishing twin syndrome where a twin is seen early on but then disappears. Secondly one twin can hide between the other and not be visible at this stage.

After hearing a few stories on hear about chemical pregnancies and miscarriages, I ordered a load of tests too. Planning to take a test every week. It's so nerve wracking yet exciting, all we can do is pray for the best and not stress too much. The best way to not test it to not have any tests available. I ordered mine purposely on Amazon to come once a week, so I won't feel the need to take all tests within a few days.

TheBirdintheCave · 05/12/2022 14:38

@AnnieApple123 My friend was a hidden twin. Her mother didn't know she was having two until her twenty week scan.

I've been thinking about booking a private scan for a week on Wednesday as we have a day off then but by that point it will only be six days til our NHS scan so there's not much point :/

AnnieApple123 · 05/12/2022 14:47

@TheBirdintheCave I know of a case like this too! From the 80s when ultrasound technology presumably wasn’t what it is now. But nonetheless it’s quite an eye-opener.

I agree that there doesn’t sound like much point in you getting a Samoan earlier than your NHS one.

Welcome @TulipVictory

I wish I had some wise words for you. I’m not familiar with that brand of test so don’t know anything about how they tend to progress. Hopefully somebody else will be along shortly who can help…

Having been saying to my husband last night that it doesn’t really feel like I’m pregnant, the nausea has suddenly hit this afternoon. On the one hand it’s definitely making it feel more real, but it’s also quite distracting and I’m not sure how I’m going to manage in the office with other people tomorrow 🙈

AnnieApple123 · 05/12/2022 15:04

@elarcoiris We can’t win, can we? Symptoms can be rubbish but lack of them causes such worry. I’m just the same.

elarcoiris · 05/12/2022 15:08

@AnnieApple123 Oh 100%, I worry when I feel completely normal and then wish I felt normal when the symptoms show up 🤦‍♀️

Mulner88 · 05/12/2022 15:13

@TulipVictory I too am not familiar with these tests. Do you have any FRERS which may be more sensitive? I would probably expect 4 days late to be darker, but could be the test. Have you had any cramping or bleeding? If not, I would try and stay positive and test again. Fingers crossed all goes okay for you 🤞🏼Testing can be so anxiety provoking

AnnieApple123 · 05/12/2022 15:16

My best friend just had her second baby three weeks ago. I like to think this one implanted just as hers was born - almost as if she passed the pregnancy baton over to me. Other than a catch-up about the birth though, she’s barely been available to chat. I’m really missing her. It’s also making me a bit nervous about the prospect of managing with two!

@sally16 My son is not yet in nursery. He was going to start in September, the term after he turns three. I’m not sure about this now though if there’s really going to be a baby in July/August. I need to decide whether he’ll start earlier in the summer term (today that’s seeming quite appealing!) if there’s space for him or wait until Jan 2024.

@somuchtolearnabout just reading your comment has really eased my worries. Been testing everyday on my easy at home strips and the occasional frer I have but been obsessing over the lines. I had a chemical back in May and you're completely right. By this day the last time I was pregnant I was bleeding near enough everyday and in tones on pain. No bleeding, occasional cramps and the odd dry heave this time around.

You're so right, nothing is giving me indication that anything is wrong. Going to stop testing now and wait it out to my reassurance scan on the 22nd. Just wanted to let you know your message really resonated with me and made me feel better ❤️‍🩹
