Pregant after miscarriage - support thread

Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

Ahh pumps are life changers for diabetics! Do you know what pump she is getting?

Actually had almost no nausea today for the first time in over a week and managed to eat a fair bit, (although was struggling with dinner and feeling full very quickly) but the tiredness and exhaustion seems tenfold today, can't win! Had a couple of glasses of pink Grapefruit Juice today (not sure if I'm truly craving it or it's just one of the few things I don't have an aversion to) and it seemed like the most delicious thing in the world. Maybe now I've given my body what it wants the sickness has gone away? 😅. I'm not getting my hopes up though, from what I've read online sickness can go for a bit around week 7/8 and then come back with a vengeance a couple of weeks later, just going to treasure this nausea free time 😅

@WhiteHorse92 ahh I envy you 😂 my nausea is in full swing! Ondansetron hasn't even helped much, and now I've got heartburn, I literally had 1 of my partners crisps...one!! 😂😅

@Brokenpancreas94 I think she's getting the tslim x2 and a she had a new dexcom to replace her libre that integrates with it, she's got 6 appointments end of June/July to go into hosp to calibrate it etc...

@WhiteHorse92 yeah I am the same seem to be having less nausea week 8, though I felt rough last night and I don't feel amazing this morning so maybe it's back 🙈 I hope it doesn't get much worse anyway! I've got a busy few weeks at work and then I can relax a bit 🤞 agree tho, cold citrus juice is perfect! I've been on Apple and mango juice and oj! Though I never usually drink either because of the sugar but I'm not eating chocolate now so 🤷‍♀️

@suz2285 ahhhh I wanted that one 😩 but they said the most accurate one for me would be the Medtronic 780g and guardian 4...medtronic is annoying for me though but Nevermind..

Why is it called morning sickness? 😂I feel fine in the mornings now, I can have cereal and feel fine, I just progressively feel worse as the day goes by 😩 and then by around 10pm I feel dreadful

@Brokenpancreas94 she was persistent, I don't think there's any need for her to be having all this but she just goes on and on and eventually gets her way, opposite from me I just suffer in silence 😂

Yeah 100% same as me, it's worse in the evenings. I feel pretty meh this morning tho, my back is sore also, had some cramping yesterday so uterus must be up to something... and today the nausea seems worse again... great 😂 but in a way it's reassuring, though I suddenly feel exhausted again!

@suz2285 they would have gave me it if I wasn't pregnant apparently 🙄

I feel eugh now, but I woke up at 7 with a hypo so I wasn't ready to wake up, and it's just so hot, I hate it! I could do with an ice cold Pepsi max 😅

I keep getting the brown stuff and I know it's not the pregnancy and that it's just the bleed well I presume it is!

@Brokenpancreas94 I had a Coke Zero at like 9am 😂 I'm a diet juice addict but I've been drinking way less since being pregnant and I cannot stand any hot drinks!

Well least the pregnancy is getting you somewhere with your diabetes control hopefully!!

It's so horrible when you've no idea what's going on inside, hopefully just the brown stuff working it's way out!

@suz2285 I could live on Pepsi max...tbh I already do 😂😂I'm trying to drink more sugar free squash as at my booking in last time I was so dehydrated they couldn't get any blood despite trying 5 times! Ohh I will have a look, I'm using the app so can't see messages on here!

Sorry to hear everyone's not feeling great. Now ten weeks has hit I am starting to feel better physically but it doesn't help the anxiety!

Bit mad my sister text today to tell me she is 12 weeks pregnant and telling our family this wkend! So happy for her as she had a tough time TTC her first. Think my parents are going to be quite surprised to hear they will have two new grandkids due two weeks apart!

@tulipsunday ah, does your sister know that you're pregnant yet? Or are you waiting a bit longer?

Yes I called her straight away to tell her. She was v happy. Really hope it goes well for us both. Had this situation with my sister in law who was due a few days apart from me and I had to see her go through her pregnancy after mine failed. Does feel like even more is riding on the 12wk scan if that is even possible 😬 as don't want a repeat of history!

@tulipsunday aww I hope it goes well for both of you too! I have consultant tomorrow, and hopefully a scan! Would be nice to still have the scan because I'm around the mark that the last baby stopped growing!

@tulipsunday wow that's crazy about your sister! 2 new babies so close.

My sister prob isn't going to have kids but she had a mishap with the coil and had to do a test a month ago just incase, so I was thinking it would be crazy if it was positive! But it wasn't, however I would be slightly miffed to have my spotlight stolen tbh 😂😂

I think we're all just desperately waiting for next scans now! Hoping all is ok 🤞🤞

Haha know what you mean @suz2285 my sister will have to buy her own baby clothes this time as she lucked out and got all my clothes and baby paraphernalia last time 😂

I can't wait to start looking at baby stuff and buying things, trying to hold off atm!!

The dreaded heartburn has begun!! Can't remember if I had it this early on with my daughter!! 😩 constantly burping as well

@Brokenpancreas94 eugh not good. I have the gross taste in my mouth today may have to go and find a nice drink in a bit.

@tulipsunday seems to be okay today, although it's replaced with nausea but think that could be nerves...going to my appointment shortly

Had my booking in today, loads of questions, coming out at low risk so that's good, few things to keep an eye on, waiting for my scan letter now

Moved my next scan to this Friday just to check all ok but nervous now for that 🤞 think if all ok after that I might feel better at least for a week or two until my nhs scan, we shall see 😂😂

@suz2285 glad booking appointment went well. Nice to have the scan this week and see how things are going.

I did say to the midwife I was anxious etc obv due to what happened last time and she said totally normal but not much anyone can do 😂

Lol I find it is like that at the scans when I am like so things are looking good.. and they are like today.. yes 😂

What. A. Day. Feeling exhausted!

3 hours at the hospital!! No scan, was waiting forever to be seen because they couldn't work out why there was no notes for me (they didn't think to ask me this first) so was just trying to work it out themselves! Saw obstetric consultant and my diabetes consultant all seems okay for now...except my blood sugars are running high which I know anyway. Diabetes consultant wanted me on my new pump within the week, walk round to the diabetes clinic afterwards to be told there's nothing until 4th July!! Sigh!

Got so many tablets now though!

Scan is booked in for 5th July...my birthday!! Praying it will all be okay, as that won't be a birthday to remember otherwise
