Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@suz2285 it would be amazing to have daily scans 😅compare how much they grow etc, and just to put our minds at ease 🙈
Yeah I start feeling worse in the evenings, still feeling tired...don't know how either, as I woke up at 9 today was still tired and then went back to bed about 11 and slept till 2!!🤨

WhiteHorse92 · 11/06/2023 17:41

I feel dreadful. I had the dream pregnancy with my son, no sickness whatsoever and just an aversion to chicken from about 7 weeks. I just assumed this pregnancy would be the same. I feel okay when I first wake up in the morning but feel more progressively sick as the day goes on. Don't feel like I'm going to actually throw up but there's this constant lingering nausea, I feel exhausted and I have an aversion to 99% of food. The thought of scrambled eggs, ready salted crisps and jacket potatoes makes my stomach turn. My current diet is chocolatey breakfast cereal with milk and cheese sandwiches on white bread 😂. Getting my food shop delivered tomorrow, I'm going to order tons of Oranges and Grapefruit because that's what I'm craving so can't wait for that to arrive. Trying to write a meal plan and have no idea what I feel like eating. Feel so guilty as well as I have barely interacted with my toddler as I feel so rubbish, I've just let him watch TV most of the day whilst he plays with his building blocks and can't cook him any decent food because the sight and smell of most cooked food makes me sick. Have been on holiday and it's been the weekend so partner has been able to do all the cooking and food prep but he's back at work tomorrow so I'm dreading having to sort out breakfast and lunch for me and my toddler. Been feeling like this for about a week now and it's making me feel so miserable, the heat isn't helping either 😔. Someone please send virtual hugs.

suz2285 · 11/06/2023 18:05

@Brokenpancreas94 yep I'm sleeping from like 9am every night, and having naps if I can! 😂 and still exhausted if I go a walk or something...

@WhiteHorse92 I'm so glad we don't really have the heat yet, I can't imagine that helps! That's what I was feeling from 5-7 weeks, I couldn't even eat my dinner most nights, but preaches, orange juice and apples was about all that sounded good, I'm slightly better the last few days but by the evening I still don't really fancy anything, I don't think I've gone off chicken yet let's hope not cos I made chicken for dinner and I didn't really enjoy the fish I had a few days ago so I'll be running out of options 🙈😂 I used to eat a lot of eggs but not a fan of those either at the mo!

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/06/2023 18:27

@WhiteHorse92 I was the same with my daughter felt absolutely fine, except for heartburn but that was more towards the end! My mmc pregnancy I felt nauseous and I do with this one too 😩 feel so wiped out most of the time! I'm annoyed as well because I craved tuna pasta, made it tonight and didn't really enjoy it 😩😩
I feel like I crave a roast dinner but not made by me 😂

My daughter is 7 and she is constantly wanting to do stuff but I don't feel up to it, today she came and laid in bed with me with her iPad whilst I slept 😬😬

My partner bought me strawberries the other day and usually I really enjoy them but didn't, so I made a milkshake instead 😂probably nowhere near as healthy haha

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/06/2023 18:28

Yesterday and today are the first few days of the heat before then it was reaching maybe 15 tops, was nice!! I don't cope in the heat at all

ChloeN · 11/06/2023 18:47

It’s been 30 where I am today so I just sat in the shade and drank icy water 🤣 I normally love sunbathing so it felt weird to not be out in it all day!

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/06/2023 19:39

Okay so this tuna pasta has not agreed with me at all!! Contemplating taking antisickness tablet! Bowels feel horrible aswell 😩😩🤢🥴

suz2285 · 11/06/2023 19:55

@Brokenpancreas94 I was craving a strawberry milkshake yesterday, didn't get one though... honestly just take the tablets if you're not feeling right, they do help...

It was 15 here yesterday and I burnt my face in the in-laws garden 😂 it's cooler again today but meant to be up to 20 tomorrow which is hot for us! Luckily being up in the north of Scotland we don't get the massive heat like most of you likely will 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/06/2023 19:59

@suz2285 I need to move to Scotland 😂I'm glad I'm no longer in London way too hot down there! Middlesbrough is okayish!

Yes I think I will take one now, it's just come on all of a sudden 🤢

tulipsunday · 11/06/2023 20:09

@Brokenpancreas94 my father in law is a bit of a joker so was just laughing and saying guess you will be having a soft drink again 😂 so just said yeh until January! So not exactly the big reveal but they have got the idea now!

So hot in the south east. Just found it a bit much as were out in full sun at a fete but shouldn't complain really.

@WhiteHorse92 feel for you have totally been there just do what you need to do to get through

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/06/2023 20:51

@tulipsunday ahh well atleast they've got the idea now 😅.

We are due rain tonight, hasn't rained in weeks here!

Antisickness meds seemed to have helped, might try some toast...to avoid having a hypoglycaemia...ah the joys of type 1 diabetes 😂🥴🥴

Brokenpancreas94 · 11/06/2023 20:52

@WhiteHorse92 there was a TikTok I saw earlier it was about early pregnancy and how we are literally in survival mode at the moment...just do what you can and I'm sure your toddler doesn't mind TV time xx

tulipsunday · 12/06/2023 08:27

My 3yr old went to sit on the sofa for tv time the other day and said mummy I have got your cushion for you. Obviously getting used to me using the time for a little rest 😂

WhiteHorse92 · 12/06/2023 09:06

I keep reminding myself that it won't last forever and should be gone by the second trimester but it seems so far away 😭. I have a box of those seashell chocolates in the cupboard, tried to eat some yesterday and instantly felt sick when I had one 😭. I'm supposed to be going round the in-laws on Sunday for roast dinner but don't think I can stomach much more than a few pieces of boiled veg 😅

suz2285 · 12/06/2023 09:08

@WhiteHorse92 how far along are you? That's how I felt weeks 5-7, it got worse during the day to the point I was crying/didn't want my dinner or to even move by evening time, I started taking the anti sickness tablets and that made it slightly more bearable but it was still bad... week 8 seems better so far, I'm still not mega excited about my evening meal but it's more manageable! It's so weird how everyone's symptoms are so different!

I'm 7+3 today. I've been feeling like this for just over a week. I actually feel better when I'm on my feet, walking around and doing stuff but then I feel so exhausted I go to lie down and that brings the sickness on so it's like a vicious circle. To be honest I don't feel particularly sick at the moment I just feel tired but I was struggling to eat my small bowl of cereal for breakfast. It does tend to be worse in the evening though. I usually love my food so not being able to eat properly just makes me so sad.

suz2285 · 12/06/2023 10:10

@WhiteHorse92 sounds exactly like I was, just constantly not feeling right and way worse in the evening, was nibbling my food not enjoying it and having to keep taking breaks... nothing sounds yum

I'm still like that in the evening, it's hard to get my dinner in, but I feel better in the mornings so I try to enjoy my lunch 😂

ChloeN · 12/06/2023 10:14

@WhiteHorse92 roast dinners are the worst, I think it was the thought of gravy or mash potato for me🤢

Brokenpancreas94 · 12/06/2023 10:34

@tulipsunday I think my daughter will smother me once she knows I'm pregnant, she thinks I said baby instead of belly yesterday (sure I didn't) so she was like "are you having a baby???" I was like erm I didn't say that but not yet!

@ChloeN @WhiteHorse92 I think with a roast it's just the Yorkshire and meat I want 😂😂🥴 it's so warm!!

Okay so seeing as I measured as 7+2 at the scan, I've changed my apps back to 7 weeks, but is that not right? Because it's been 8 weeks since my period...do I go by that or the measurements? I'm so confused!

suz2285 · 12/06/2023 11:30

@Brokenpancreas94 I'd leave it as 8 weeks until the 12 week scan, think that's the only one they'll change the dates on if they're different, I've heard they need to be at least a week different to bother changing it, honestly it's mm's of a difference at this point so it's more likely that the dates will just catch up by 12 weeks, plus f going back a week 😂😂

Aww what age is your daughter? I def want a girl but I have a feeling it'll be a boy just cos that's life 😂 and I was sort of thinking one and done tho I do like the idea of one sibling im getting old and we need to move house!!

Ella1211 · 12/06/2023 11:41

Hi all.

I should be 12 w + 1d pregnant. The first trimester scan looked fine. But I am a bit concerned as I have been experiencing mild cramps and sharp pain every now and then. I had this in the beginning of the pregnancy and stopped and don't know if it's quite normal at this stage. I am on medication, including progesterone, as I has several miscarriages before this pregnancy. And as a matter of fact, never made it so far before. Could you please share your experiences? Should I worry?

Thanks and healthy pregnancies to you all.

Brokenpancreas94 · 12/06/2023 11:49

@suz2285 she's 7 and full of sass 😂 but she's also ALL for me! Like she will be like I want to be near you mummy and sit bang on top of me 😂 she means well, but it's a bit much sometimes 😂, but she has ASD So think that is the reason she's so clingy too!
I want a boy, as then it's one of each but other half wants another girl as he thinks it will be "easy" seeing as we already have a girl 😂 he has no clue 😂😂. Oh good I'm changing my apps back then 😂😂
I'm still having the brownish stuff when I wipe which deep down I know is probably the bleed that's beside the sac but it's still making me nervous!

@Ella1211 congratulations. I'm not going to tell you not to worry because I'm not a medical professional but the cramps and sharp pains could be your uterus expanding etc. Have you contacted your midwife? Xx

Ella1211 · 12/06/2023 11:52

@Brokenpancreas94 Thank you. They've told me to increase the progesterone dose if pain becomes intense (now it's mild) and call if I start bleeding. Which thankfully has not yet been the case. Hope I'm just panicking without reason... because of unfortunate past experiences.

Ella1211 · 12/06/2023 11:54

Mild and occasional, comes and go. And also migrates, it's not in the same place.

Brokenpancreas94 · 12/06/2023 11:55

@Ella1211 I'd say it's your ligaments and uterus stretching and accommodating for growing baby xx
