Pregant after miscarriage - support thread

Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

I also went into EPU for my last scan on my own but I didn't mind, DH has work pretty much 24/7, he'll try and get off for the 12 week scan once we know when that is I think!

Hey everyone , just catching up. @Brokenpancreas94 i also bled yesterday and had a scan by myself at 8+5 as my husband was with my son, I was worried I miscarried but they said everything is fine with no internal bleeding. You might have cervical ectropian which is what I have. I always bleed after sex (haven’t had sex so far in this pregnancy as I’m just too scared until maybe after 12 weeks), but with this pregnancy I’ve bled twice due to bowel movement which is common with cervical ectropian. Let us know how it goes x

@TTCxox @suz2285 well it's looking more and more like it could be the cervix then...sex did hurt a little bit when we did it so maybe it is that, I just don't know. Want it to be tomorrow already xx

The other mums in my son's swimming class happen to be pregnant. Today one of them asked if I want to have another one and ended up telling them I was pregnant. Now I am thinking why the hell did I do that 😂 hard to get out of that negative thought pattern and believe things will be ok.

@tulipsunday I'm the same as you, I told one of my daughter's friends mum that I'm pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️thinking why oh why because if it goes wrong then il have to explain xx

Had call this afternoon saying I need to redo a urine test.Head to the surgery and then get a call back shortly to say there are signs of a possible infection and if so I may need a go on antibiotics. Great! Don't have a temp or any pain so that's good I guess.. always one thing after another isn't it 🙈

@tulipsunday ahh I had a UTI that wouldn't budge in my last pregnancy! I had to have two courses of antibiotics!

I've had more brown when I wipe...like coffee grounds if that makes sense? Not feeling hopeful about tomorrow at all

@Brokenpancreas94 ah really? Did you feel ill with it? Keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow what time is your scan?

@tulipsunday well it was first detected when I found out I was pregnant, and put on antibiotics but then it was still there when I had my booking in appointment at 10 weeks...I don't think I felt Ill but I felt really nauseous then anyway so it may have been that I'm not sure.
11am tomorrow 😬

@tulipsunday I had what I thought was a UTI a couple of times this pregnancy so they give me antibiotics but when they send it off to the lab it always comes back clear 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel like I just convince myself I have them sometimes because I’m so paranoid about them!

@Brokenpancreas94 is it just so dark maybe because the bloods so old? Xx

@ChloeN I've had that before but not in pregnancy, I had that before I was diagnosed with lichen sclerosis, I had vulvodynia was horrible because it felt just like a UTI and like you I had been given antibiotics but always came back clear! 🙈

Yes, i think so too, it's not there at all when I wipe ah it's just so weird, my partner keeps telling me not to worry and that it's all going to be fine, but I keep saying to him that he can't be sure of that, so we are kind of clashing

@Brokenpancreas94 the waiting is the absolute worst! I just said to DH I'm amazed they haven't made an ultrasound add on for iPhone yet! 😂

@suz2285 it really is! I've just forced myself to have something to eat. Other half's sister is having our daughter so he can come with me thank god.

All done, all okay...saw the little heartbeat flickering! I'm only 7+2 and not 8. I have a small bleed next to the pregnancy sac but doesn't appear to be affecting the pregnancy she said xx

Thank you all, was such a relief seeing the little flickering of the heart! Was worried at first as she attempted an abdominal but my womb was tilting backwards so could only see the sac, but all okay. Don't know how I got my dates wrong though xx

@Brokenpancreas94 it won't be your dates it's just the measurements, they're so small at this stage that they measure and tell you the size in relation to the 'average' measurements, possibly will date different by the time it's 12 weeks on....

I was measuring 7+4 at 6+5 which is basically impossible 😂

@suz2285 ohh that makes sense! Although she said to me that it could be because my cycle lengths vary 🤷‍♀️
