Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@38andtrying thank you.

@suz2285 I've just been to the toilet again and there's like something thicker that's come out, not a clot though! I've got pictures but don't know if can post on here incase tmi xx

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 09:50

@Brokenpancreas94 hopefully just some discharge or old stringy blood maybe... got everything crossed for you

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 09:55

@suz2285 I hope so, had sex yesterday as well so maybe cervical irritation I don't know xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 09:58

This is what I most recently wiped, which has got me more worried x

@Brokenpancreas94 yep, mine was after sex too, which is great as now i'm a bit wary of having sex! I asked the EPU if it could be irritation and she said possibly or just that the brown blood just takes a while to work its way out. That looks pretty brown old blood to me, hopefully all will be ok, the waiting is the absolute worst, i hope you are ok

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 10:21

@suz2285 I hope it's because of sex then..and everything fine. Don't even know if it's worth doing a test? I'm okay I guess trying not to worry too much but preparing myself for the worst...tomorrow feels a lifetime away xx

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 10:37

@Brokenpancreas94 no point doing a test at all, it won't tell you anything

It's the worst time waiting for the scan, I would say to keep busy but it's impossible to think of anything else so it doesn't help... 🤞🤞 just keeping everything crossed for you!

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 10:39

@suz2285 EPU just called they've had to change my scan to Saturday now as scanner is sick or something 😩😩

ChloeN · 08/06/2023 10:42

@Brokenpancreas94 the midwife said to me bleeding after sex is really common so it could definitely be that! Especially given it’s brown it’s probably taken all night to come out! I know how much you must be worrying though so sending you lots of love xx

WitcheryDivine · 08/06/2023 11:34

Oh no @Brokenpancreas94 - that really isn't a lot of blood though, it looks a bit similar to my implantation bleeding. I really think you'll be absolutely fine. So sorry about the delay though, it's horrid.

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 13:04

@Brokenpancreas94 ah that's totally crap! How annoying... I hope there isn't any more blood in the meantime 🤞🤞

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 13:20

@ChloeN @suz2285 @WitcheryDivine thank you.

I hope it's to do with sex, I've had a nap because I was so tired today! Seem to only have brown when I wipe after I've been a wee, it's only there if I wipe once if that makes sense? Il wipe again and there's nothing. No cramps really though, apart from bowel movement cramps.
GP is calling me later as a routine check up for my antidepressants, so will mention it to her too!

tulipsunday · 08/06/2023 13:37

@Brokenpancreas94 sorry you are having to wait for scan. Echoing other posters - bleeding after sex in pregnancy is common as your cervix is more sensitive and the fact it is brown rather than red suggests old blood. Hope the time to the scan passes quickly xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 14:03

@tulipsunday thank you. I hope it is because of sex but can't help but think the worst!

Annoyed that it's on a Saturday as well because daughter won't be at school and she will be asking questions etc, so will likely have to go alone as she will worry massively 🤦🏼‍♀️. So will have to try and sneak out of the house as don't think there's anyone that could have her so my partner could come with me xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 16:25

Just spoke to my GP and bought up the brown discharge she agreed that it could be sex, as it's classed as Trauma to the cervix (she doesn't know why it's called trauma though) she said that some people here could be waiting atleast a week for a scan so the fact they're seeing me so soon is a good thing.
She isn't happy that my bloods have gone missing for the 3rd time though, there's been requests for bloods in March, April and May and all 3 are missing 😩

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 17:57

@Brokenpancreas94 she's prob right and that's all it is but it's still good they're seeing you and the waiting is hard!

Goodness me, 3 times that's crazy! 🙈

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 18:14

@suz2285 I really hope it's that too, can't help thinking it's not though!

Oh I know it's actually ridiculous, it's even more crazy that they don't go missing when my GP requests them, but go missing when the hospital do them, and they go to the exact same lab!! No doubt I'll see my consultant next week and have them done for the 4th time! They need my HBa1c!

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 18:38

@Brokenpancreas94 totally know what you mean, I feel the same even tho I've got no reason to worry technically, I just checked my tracker from last pregnancy and this time last time the exact day today was when I started my MC.... no wonder I've been feeling weird this week, honestly it's like your body knows with timings! Just holding my breath now until I see if anything goes wrong 🙈

Yeah exactly! Esp with the pregnancy, typical they go missing when there's even more of a reason to need them!

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 19:25

@suz2285 my time would be next week, although it wasn't till after my 12 week scan that I started bleeding. Makes me think that something is wrong now because it's around the same time but then it'd be bright red if that was the case wouldn't it?

I know it's ridiculous, hopefully my GP will get to the bottom of it, along with my consultant when she finds out!

suz2285 · 08/06/2023 20:07

@Brokenpancreas94 yeah that's what worries me cos you don't start the MC right away mostly... but yes if it was the start of something bad it would turn to red quickly I'd say.. fingers crossed for both of us 🤞🤞

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 20:58

@suz2285 just had another brown stringy bit not as much as before though, really making me a nervous wreck!!
Hope it's all okay for all of us ❤️❤️

ChloeN · 08/06/2023 21:21

@Brokenpancreas94 I hope the next couple of days pass as quick as poss for you! Sounds reassuring it doesn’t seem to have progressed tho xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 08/06/2023 22:04

@ChloeN I hope so...although I've been an idiot and done a symptom checker on an app I am and it says MC 🤦🏼‍♀️xx

tulipsunday · 09/06/2023 07:57

How you doing today @Brokenpancreas94 It isn't easy having to juggle scans with existing children. I went in for my 7wk scan by myself as my husband had my son which wasn't ideal but got through it. Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 09/06/2023 08:08

@tulipsunday I'm doing okay thank you, doesn't appear to be anymore brown...so far
Yes I think I'm going to have to go on my own tomorrow too xx
