Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@ChloeN slow, oh so slow 😂 feel like I've known forever and I'm only 7 weeks 😂

Nausea today is pretty constant 😩😩xx

ChloeN · 04/06/2023 17:57

@Brokenpancreas94 its always the way isn’t it, seems quick for everyone else and forever for you 🥲 xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 04/06/2023 19:01

@ChloeN yep! And then once they're born it flows by aswell! Xx

tulipsunday · 04/06/2023 20:24

Sorry you have had a rough ride with nausea @ChloeN I keep hoping I will be better in next few weeks but perhaps I need to adjust my expectations 😂 can't believe how different this pregnancy is to my son's.

suz2285 · 05/06/2023 08:45

@tulipsunday good luck for booking in, I didn't make it to booking in last time lost the baby just a few days before, mine is on the 14th June and hoping to make it this time 🤞

Im back to being worried again after having a great scan last week now im just thinking of all the things that could be going wrong between that scan and the next one! Def worse now than I was last week before I seen the baby

Nausea has been bad as usual but I tried a different second tablet yesterday afternoon and I felt way better come the evening time so that was nice, but then also when you have less symptoms it's a worry too, can't win! I hate feeling miserable though some days are definitely worse and I just lie there and cry cos I feel so rubbish.... then some days (esp in the morning) I feel almost normal as i seem to be way worse from 4pm onward

38andtrying · 05/06/2023 08:59

@suz2285 anxiety is horrible and the anxiety between scans in the worst, a scan only contents me for tops one week and im back to being a nervous wreck, I'm 17 weeks today and thought by this stage I'd be more content, a scan last week showed I have an anterior placenta which means I won't feel baby for longer and it'll be more subtle, I was really looking forward to feeling baby move and thinking that would be my free reassurance, disappointed 😞

If that's worst things for I'll take it though.

Try and distract yourself between scans, I know its cliche but keep busy with a hobby or something maybe? That weather is fabulous so get out and about, I'm trying to be happier and less stressed, before we know it the babies will be here and I don't want to look back and say I was miserable the whole pregnancy, its something I'm working on x

suz2285 · 05/06/2023 09:18

Oh yeah @38andtrying 100% it's one thing after another, some of my friends from the group I was in previously are just past 20 weeks and still anxious, it's hard!

I'd love to get out and about but work for me and DH is so busy, which is good but as soon as there's 2 mins I'm thinking about it again 😂 and then when I get home it's basically dinner and bed!

I'll be taking some holidays soon though so that'll be good, I'd like some time off just to chill! I also think Im going to tell my mum next week as she didn't know last time and I feel like if something was to go wrong now I'd want someone to talk to, she's a midwife as well 😂🙈

ChloeN · 05/06/2023 09:27

@38andtrying Id try not to worry about the anterior placenta, I have one and I feel absolutely loads of movement so it hasn’t really affected what I can feel! My whole belly moves and you can see them rolling round and kicking in there. I felt movement before people with a posterior placenta in my due date group too!

@tulipsunday I don’t think it’s that common to still feel sick I also thought it would end 🤣🤣 it’s not that bad I feel like I’m used to it now

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/06/2023 09:52

@38andtrying don't worry about the anterior placenta, I had it with my daughter and still felt all her movements...very strong too! I think they just have to say that to make you aware.

Good luck today @tulipsunday xx

tulipsunday · 05/06/2023 15:24

Thanks @suz2285 booking in appointment was fine. Obviously we touched on the miscarriages but she was very kind and sympathetic. Glad your new tablet is helping in the evenings.

Interesting to read about people's placenta placement etc. can't wait to hopefully get to that stage of feeling my baby

Elliec04 · 05/06/2023 15:34

Hey everyone

im just seeing if anyone can shed any light or has had anything similar . I had a miscarriage in December and then in February had to have a ercp my periods have always been irregular but after the op I have had regular periods I have missed my period by a week this month I have severe bloating sickness hip pain cramps and have done 4 pregnancy tests that have all come up negative can it be to early to detect? Or does this sound like something different
thanks x

ChloeN · 05/06/2023 16:19

@tulipsunday Glad your appointment went okay, my midwife is lovely too I really think that helps, the one I spoke to on the phone to get booked in was so rude I was dreading getting her🤣

ChloeN · 05/06/2023 16:20

@Elliec04 do you track your ovulation? I found mine was a bit off for the cycles after which then put my period dates out xx

tulipsunday · 05/06/2023 17:51

@ChloeN thank god you didn't get the rude one! My pregnancy notes for some reason wouldn't update from last time I was pregnant so it kept coming up as me being 30wks pregnant and it wouldn't let the midwife change it 😬 hopefully that will get changed as don't want that as a constant reminder!

loulouhind · 05/06/2023 18:35

I had a dark brown discharge today, called the bereavement midwife who has kept in touch and she said she will try and bring the 7 week scan forward which is due two weeks tomorrow.

Really not sure I can wait that long or if I can go through this worry again

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/06/2023 18:42

@loulouhind is it a lot of discharge? How many weeks are you now? I had brown discharge when I was 4/5 weeks pregnant but it was very light, could be implantation? Hopefully all is okay! Xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/06/2023 18:43

@tulipsunday hopefully it updates for you! Have you got the electronic pregnancy notes or paper?

loulouhind · 05/06/2023 18:48

Was dark brown, kind of in a bit of a gush but not heavy. We went for 7 week scan last week but baby was small and measured at around 5 weeks.

ChloeN · 05/06/2023 18:53

@tulipsunday I was worried about that actually because they gave me the same login but luckily it changed! It’s awful really though because you definitely don’t want to see that!

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/06/2023 18:58

@loulouhind hopefully it's all okay for you, and you don't have to wait much longer to find out. Sending you love xxx

Thank you. I really can’t understand why they can’t just scan me

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/06/2023 19:11

@loulouhind was it EPU you spoke to? Or just a bereavement midwife?

loulouhind · 05/06/2023 19:19

Brokenpancreas94 · 05/06/2023 19:11

Just bereavement midwife - she is going to contact EPU tomorrow to try and move appointment but we only had a scan last week so not sure what (if anything) they will do

ChloeN · 05/06/2023 19:24

@loulouhind ive seen a few people say the same about epu, that if you’ve had a scan they seem to ignore bleeding after which seems really unfair! Surely you should be entitled a rescan and possibly progesterone if you’re not taking it already? X

Could also be irritation from the scan last week which has taken a little while to come out. Could also have been in there for weeks.
