Hi everyone,

I'm new to posting on mumsnet, but have spent plenty of time reading through others' conversations for reassurance when anxious, and this seems like such a friendly place!

I've just found out I'm pregnant again after the miscarriage of my first at 11 weeks in August. I would love to connect with other people in a similar situation.

I'm feeling relatively ok, i.e. not totally panicked all the time, about this one, but I know it's going to be hard. I really find it hard to believe sometimes that this could work out.

Please send a comment if you're in a similar situation and would like to share/receive some support!

@suz2285 yes especially as the consultant made the point that I need the pump as soon as possible and she's not even done it!
I've come up in so many spots!

RegardingPersephone · 30/05/2023 19:32

Hi all! Hope I can join here. I'm 4+4 today. Had a miscarriage last month at 6 weeks and managed to fall on this month again so its all still fresh. Feeling quite anxious about everything and worried about what will happen this time whilst being cautiously optimistic.

tulipsunday · 31/05/2023 07:53

@RegardingPersephone welcome! We all understand that feeling here. That's great you managed to fall pregnant again so quickly. Wishing you all the best!

@Brokenpancreas94 so frustrating about the pump hope it gets sorted asap. I've had issues with getting my iron tablets but thankfully that got sorted yesterday. I am so tired and not eating the best as funny food preferences etc so was keen to restart them xxx

Morning All,
Is anyone taking a low dose of aspirin?
I've been taking 75mg this pregnancy as read some studies about potentially reducing risk of recurring MC (I would try anything!).
I'm going to be 12 weeks on Friday and not sure whether to continue, I think 75mg is such a low dose it should still be fine.
I know I'm best to speak to the midwife but I don't want her to tell me to stop taking them all together so just wondered if anyone knew anything otherwise?

suz2285 · 31/05/2023 08:51

@SMG1992 yes I am, after my MC I read a lot and mostly they recommended low dose aspirin for previous MC with no 'bad' things listed only that it may help, I know I will have to take anyway because of family blood pressure issues after 12 weeks so thought I'd just start before conception I've been taking it since the start of this cycle when I got my bfp and plan to continue

I know what you mean though I worry the midwife might say I shouldn't be self medicating 😂

Brokenpancreas94 · 31/05/2023 09:01

@SMG1992 aspirin is fine but usually from 10 -12 weeks, that's when my consultants usually start me on it for prevention of pre-eclampsia, so you're fine to keep taking it x

@tulipsunday I'm eating crap aswell, trying to eat healthy, I usually love veg but it's making me feel bleurgh. Ah my iron tablets are making me constipated!

WitcheryDivine · 31/05/2023 10:23

Welcome @RegardingPersephone - wishing you all the best with this pregnancy. Totally understand how you're feeling.

I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife tomorrow (standard caveat - if we get that far) and I'm just wondering if anyone else has yet done that with a post-miscarriage pregnancy and if it's very different to the first one? Do they ask a lot about the miscarriage? Just need to get nerved up.

suz2285 · 31/05/2023 11:45

Had to nip to EPU this morning after some dark brown discharge later on yesterday and this morning

Baby is doing well, measuring a few days ahead and has a healthy heartbeat, couldn't see any reason to be worried, she said prob old implantation bleeding working it's way out and not to worry

One little jelly bean in there growing away ❤️

ChloeN · 31/05/2023 11:46

@WitcheryDivine They just asked if it was my first pregnancy, and then asked what happened with the mc but that was all really! I don’t remember them going in to much detail about it

@suz2285 ahh lovely news 🥰

RegardingPersephone · 31/05/2023 11:57

I've just rung my GP to get my booking in appointment and was given an appointment for 10+5 is this too late? The lady on the phone said they did they from 10 but I'm sure mine was earlier for the last pregnancy.

WitcheryDivine · 31/05/2023 12:27

That's lovely news @suz2285 ! hello little person!

tulipsunday · 31/05/2023 14:38

@suz2285 aw lovely! Glad all ok.

@RegardingPersephone think it varies a bit depending on the trust. I've been told before in my area that they like to do the blood test before ten weeks but if after ten weeks is more typical for your area I wouldn't worry.

suz2285 · 31/05/2023 16:10

@RegardingPersephone i've been told anywhere between 8-10 weeks depends when they can fit you in i think! I don't think it should be an issue as long as you'll still get your 12 weeks scan within the timeframe, some trusts send those out as soon as you have your booking appointments, some you get after the booking appointment I believe! You could always call and ask?

Brokenpancreas94 · 31/05/2023 21:20

@RegardingPersephone in my miscarriage pregnancy I wasn't seen till after 10 weeks because there was a backlog or something, and they had no appointments. This time I'll be 10 weeks when I have my booking appointment xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 31/05/2023 21:21

@suz2285 glad your scan went well xx

Peachy3118 · 31/05/2023 23:50

Thanks all, spoke with a couple of friends too and feeling a wee bit reassured.

@RegardingPersephone my booking in appt will be at 11+1 which is mainly due to me not telling them until I was 8 weeks out of fear and then being in Greece until I’m 10+4. 12 week scan is at 12+6 now

@suz2285 glad it went well and you got a wee peek at your wee jelly bean

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/06/2023 10:39

Morning everyone, does anyone else feel "wet" down below? I'm 6+6 and I feel wet, and feel like when I go to the toilet I keep thinking there will be blood because of how wet I feel 🙈 don't know if it's sweat or increased discharge....sorry for tmi xx

suz2285 · 01/06/2023 11:45

@Brokenpancreas94 yes 😂 i think it's a bit of both tbh as well! But yes, I feel like mine is worse some days than others!

ChloeN · 01/06/2023 12:08

@Brokenpancreas94 I’ve had the same right from before I found out I was even pregnant! It’s defo discharge for me🤣xx

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/06/2023 12:09

Okay well I'm glad I'm not alone 😂 @ChloeN @suz2285 I didn't have it in my last pregnancy this must be a good sign then surely 😬🙈

loulouhind · 01/06/2023 17:06

We went for (what we thought was) a 7 week scan today, turns out baby is measuring 5 weeks. There was a heartbeat and a sac so that’s a good sign.

Because we lost our previous baby in March we never expected this to happen to soon so weren’t tracking ovulation, but it was 5 weeks ago we last had sex.

can anyone explain this, did I ovulate by up to two weeks late or is baby slightly behind?

tulipsunday · 01/06/2023 20:30

@loulouhind were you expecting to be 7 weeks based on last period or have you not had one since your miscarriage?

ChloeN · 01/06/2023 20:35

@loulouhind I think with the baby being so small they say there’s sometimes errors on dating at scans so that could definitely put you out by a few days as well xx

ChloeN · 01/06/2023 20:36

@Brokenpancreas94 no you’re definitely not alone 🙈🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 01/06/2023 20:39

@ChloeN phewww😂🙈 xx
